MIUI v5? - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Is anyone looking into porting MIUI v5 by any chance? I know that it's still 4.1.2 based but theres not much that's different from 4.2, especially with MIUI. I hear it's a sick rom and I unfortunatel don't know coding or I'd do it myself.
Thanks guys!

Which JB ROM

Hi guys and gals
I've just found out that team gummy aren't doing a JB ROM.
Now I don't know which ROM to choose for JB. I want one with a load of fun features and stuff I can change but don't want one too complicated to use.
Anyone got any ideas of which would suite me best? Also battery life is a must
Thanks
CM 10 or AOKP would be your best bet.

On jbelly 3.5 I had forgotten to fix permissions and had a WiFi error. If you encounter errors dont forget to fix permissions. It can be done at any time and doesn't hurt anything. I have had an error free experience. Flashed a trinity kernel and put the jb boot animation back in And willy jay theme. Very happy with it!
Are you jellin..been using it since day one..no issues

MIUI 4.1(Jelly Bean)?

I tried searching Google, Miui.us, and on here and I couldn't find an answer. Does anyone know if there are plans or it is being worked on to release a JB Miui rom?

I read somewhere that they are working on it, but I have not found any dates. Some forums said it should only take a couple weeks, but that was posted more than a month ago.
I would like to know how true it would be to the actual jelly bean. As I understand MIUI operated from 2.3 and 4. So does it contain parts from ICS, GB and so on? Or is it simply a mod on ICS? And once it contains JB, will it be a JB rom. Or a hybrid.
Either way.. I too would like to know when MIUI is JB ready.
I am currently using MIUI with a custom kernal and I like it. I am wondering if and when I can use a JB kernal or if I should just leave it as is.
EDIT - now using Xenonhd and air kernal for JB. loving it.
Miui is normally last to the game anyway because of heavy theming!

What is the most stable and the best jelly bean custom rom available?

Im currently using paranoid android 2.16, It's actually pretty cool rom, you can change apps dpi, youtube app would look like a 3D scrollable wall, but im getting bored with it, i wanna change it with another jelly bean rom, but im literally confused because there are astronomical numbers of rom out there
what is the best and the most stable jelly bean rom thus far ?
thanks in advance

MythOS ROM. It's always the latest, fastest, most stable, gives the best battery life, and has the most features, including some that haven't even been imagined yet.

I try xenonhd rom since 2 month and i'm very satisfy. is stable and butter and not bad with battery. fully customize, and dev works hard to upgrade it. now is upgrade to jb 4.1.2
also codename android (CM) like jellysnap i think is good. but i didnt try it.
You really think youll get a single answer to that question? Anyway that someone has somehow tried every rom despite how often they change will probably have a different opinion from the next guy.
Personally I use JBSourcery after starting on cm10, has so many more features it makes cm10 look like stock.
We can tell our favorites, but the best ROM is what's best for YOU. Try all of them and stick with what you enjoyed
That said, I find cm to be most stable if you ask me.

[Q] different ROMs for the I747

hey everyone
recently I have been looking for a ROM with a different look than the stock aosp and touchwiz feel. I have been using MIUI V5 for a little bit and I liked the change. but I want something different. I love the look and feel of Ubuntu, but the stability is not there yet for most phones.
so what I am asking is does anyone have any ROMs that are different than aosp, touchwiz or MIUI for the i747.
TIA
i hear iOS is completely different looking than android...

yeah i know
but i haaaatteee iphone and ios
i know i sound like a picky bastard but i just want to move away from the android UI but keep the playstore and stuff. Is that possible?
Even if it still is android, but just a different looking ROM. Im up for a change! :silly:
I know you said "other than aosp...", but have you tried Task650's AOKP? Super customization at it's finest. Also Bajees RootBox is sick. If you want the most in functionality and customization, I suggest you head in the direction of AOKP based stuff.
AOKP until death!!!

Not anything much different than roms you've tried. I would suggest trying some different launchers. Check this one out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHFh0omfHIM&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Look into Avatar Rom or Chameleon OS (I recommend the later). They are AOSP roms that add the theme engine and functionality of MIUI. Beyond this new launcher set ups (Buzz Launcher will help you with that) are the way to go.
Slap that thanks button if I helped
Thanks!
thanks everyone who responded!
Buzz Launcher is AMAZING! It really is and I am using it as we speak while running task650 ota AOKP ROM which I have been running on and off for the past 5 months!
do you guys know of any ROMs that aren't touchwiz/aosp/miui? I've been looking hard and I have not found any stable ones! i am super excited for Ubuntu phone for android but I am going to have to wait for a stable one.
TIA!.
Honestly, the only AOSP/AOKP roms I will run are Task's and RootBox.

So there are no roms that are COMPLETLY different than Touchwiz/AOSP/MIUI?
Nope. If you want something completely different, I think you know what you need to buy

Sure there is, actually there is only ONE launcher which is totally different than all Touchwiz or aosp/aokp/miui launchers.
It's called "LMT Pie Launcher", it looks and works totally different than any other available launchers.
Personally I really do not like it at all, but if you want something totally different give it a try.
There are a lot of interesting Youtube videos which give a lot of useful information about it.
Here is the download link for the latest version of it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zkrinbltpg3tji5/LMT v1.99.apk
Good luck!

Think we will see a miui v5 (Kitkat base?)

I love miui, im currently on miui v5 JB based and its pretty stable. but i would love to see a kitkat based miui rom rather it be miui v5 kitkat or muiu v6 when it comes out.
i would like to to port it but i have no idea on how to go about that yet.
also would i be able to use the same 3.4 miui v5 JB kernel for v5 kitkat OS?

one of the other devs does the miui work and I believe a v6 is in the future,i hope
I don't think it's happening anytime soon not enough interest in MIUI and lacks customization like other roms imo
I hope they continue because I'm utterly disgusted with touchwiz based Roms and their restrictions and messing up my internal storage.
MIUI is the only kind of ROMs I can ever live with always been that way now I think about it so either miui porting continues or I become a badass developer/porter Overnight and learn source code lol

V5 v6 won't be possible for a while. Porting from Xiaomi devices is the most difficult thing to do. Have to wait for a aosp phone to get it like Nexus or wait for Patchrom to be released for it
Edit: Just informed switching to t-mobile by the end of the month new phone here I come!
