[APP] S-Voice.apk from Galaxy S3

If anyone is interested, here's the original thread.
Root and ICS is required.
1. Unrar the file and copy the apk file
2. Copy to system/app folder
3. Change permission to rw-r-r
restart phone.

What does this do ?

Why not get a response from your phone? Tell it to wake up!
Even better, you can tell Samsung GALAXY S III to turn off
the alarm for a few minutes and let yourself sleep a bit more.
Answer your phone (or reject a call), turn your music up
(or down), and even tell the camera when to shoot.

It's like Siri at iPhone, but much better

I'm just a bit of time messing around with the app. It doesn't work all the commands and some commands ends in a force close ^^

Just edit build.prop
You can change the following :
Ro.product.device=GT-i9300
Ro.product.model=GT-i9300
Your device will become SGS3

To stop the force close,
Navigate to /system/app
and select voicetalk.apk and install it over the app again, will work

well that android have samsung voice - similar to s-voice but with much more interface(or just button you can push teehee )
anyone know how can i vote for that android model to be open because i just got it and im trying to root it
and im trying to extract the samsung voice from Galaxy S Advance GT-i9070 running on Gingerbread 2.3.6 without any face recog stuff
and the samsung voice from Samsung Galaxy Voice might work on other gingerbread model and i want to share it

[REQUEST] S2 Keyboard for ICS

Hello guys i was wondering that can i use the original S2 keyboard on my CM9 ics? I love that keyboard but i think it needs samsung framework to work properly. Any ideas?

I'm using the latest CM9 20120603.. I flashed it via CWM and reboot but there was no difference so i checked it with the root explorer.. i saw the file in the "app" folder but i did't see anything about it in the keyboard options menu.

Will this work on slim? Could you email me a copy please as I would prefer not to register with the file hosting site?

The keyboard crashes because of typing sound, when phone is on silent it doesnt.

Thanks mate! This is great. Ive been looking for a t9 keyboard for my s3 which upon android update, it was no longer supported. One problem though would you be able to put in more input languages like English UK, Malaysian Language, Chinese Pin Yin? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE? As I am not able to change to other keyboard once I'm on Samsung keyboard using the bottom right button, which usually would bring me to keyboard setting and allowing me to choose other keyboard.

Flash with CWM right? Well I did that and rebooted but nothing changed

I am using the one from here, it has the 360 viewer fixed, everything works for me. I flashed with cw then wiped cache and dalvik.

[Q] Possible to install AOSP Messaging app on TouchWiz ROM?

Hi all,
After trying out CM10.1, I've found it to be a little too unstable at this early stage and have flashed back to Wanamlite. I can live with TouchWiz for now, but the one app on TouchWiz I really can't stand is the Messaging/SMS app.
Is it possible to flash an AOSP/vanilla version of the Android messaging app onto my phone?
Would it need to replace the TouchWiz one, or would it work side-by-side with it?
Where could I get an up to date AOSP SMS app?
Any help would be great!

Thanks mate I saw that - but seems to have a few bugs at present. Was wondering if it was possible to get the app another way.

Its possible. It replaces the tw version. There is one in themes/apps section for the sprint s3. You have to push the file to system/app. Rename it and set perm.

Works a treat. A little bit different to the steps they advised though; putting mms.apk in the system/app folder with the correct permissions wouldn't work - I could put it in there, but the application wouldn't actually load when rebooted.
I then tried installing it as an APK, but no go; Android said there was another system app installed. So I moved secmms up one level, rebooted into recovery, fixed permissions, and now it's fine.

Its recommend to backup the stock mms app. Rename the aosp mms.apk to secmms.apk

It has:
- Dark theme (4.2 theme I think)
- Emoticons
- emojis

So far, it has never crashed on me. I don't do so much SMS and MMS as I do more emails.

it needs to be a system app so copy it over to /system/app and set ownership and permission as root:root 644/rw-r-r

[Q] Wake up lag

This happens on any rom with any kernel..It takes about 2-4 seconds for my screen to wake up when i press the power button

I, along with many other have this issue as well. Not sure if was present in ICS but it sure is annoying. Not sure we can do much about it sadly

will be flashing in a bit...quick question, since i can't post in development threads, is anyone using xylon? and have mms auto retrieve working properly?
edit: well i installed a 4.2.2 stock deodexed rom and there was no lag when waking the device up with or without lockscreen patter..even restored all my apps to see if that would make a difference...thegtfusion seems to be right, wake up lag is fixed in 4.2.2 (at least stock)
