hello, i have unlocked my bootloader before, then, i relock it again, the bravia engine (there is no difference when i check bravia engine on and when i uncheck bravia engine off) and download music info (when i tried to download music info, there is an error) isn't working
anymore. but track ID still working no matter if i unlock bootloader or relock the bootloader.
how can i fix this? is this the only way to fix? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2068225

Use the TestPoint method then instead of the Official Method, you'll find all you need at the first link in my sig.
The official method is more reliable and i see better for newbies... I highly recommend you continue with the SONY method... Actually when i was it his lvl, test point confused me...

The TestPoint method is better as you retain DRM, and if a video tutorial is too hard to follow, then yes, perhaps the Official no more reliable or better method is the way to go.

You can't root 587 directly. You have to downgrade to an earlier version of firmware to do so, and then flash a 587 kernel to get it back to the most updated firmware (therefore keeping root).
Flash this, root with this (by running the runme.bat file), and then flash this
Good luck!

You have to use flashtool to flash firmwares/kernels onto your phone. Here's a tutorial on how to do it.

Did you tried sony offical unlock? If you can't either, I think there's nothing you can do.
[I saw some website (don't remember the url) that claimed that you could unlock it via imei codes, but it was pretty expensive (€ 49,00)... Plus I'm not sure if this was for carrier or bootloader unlock.]

At this Sony thingy where I can check if my BL is unlockable or not it says "No". So I can't flash any unofficial kernels.

Hi. I just got my Xperia S. It's cool and I want to keep it that way with DRM (in case of future reselling) So for now only locked bootloader. I have found some roms for locked BL, know how to root and probably install recovery. That's no problem. The point is, in Xperia P, we can flash kernels in zip in recovery (dunno if it requiers unlocked bl, tried only with unlocked). Do we have zip kernels here too? And if so, then is XS capable of flashing them on locked BL?
And is unlocking bl/rooting and applying tweaks profitable? Will I feel boost?
