i was in the same boot as you. you must of wipe your "importants data" like efs files. do you have a back up by any chance before you even flash a rom?does your your imie show "0".
I don't think so where would I find the imie number at so I can tell weather it say 0 or not

Try flash back to old rom or a different rom. Do you have a backup of your efs files? EFS partition is actually a internal place in our android device such as android phone which contains some important and some basic info related to our device identity like Wi-Fi address, Bluetooth MAC address and the very main IMEI address (nv_data.bin). If your efs gets corrupted you cannot get data or make calls.

Maybe your apn is not set.settings/more settings/mobile network/apn. Check to see if your carrier is listed.
Thanks I check the APN setting like you said and everything was blank so I had put all proxy number and port numbers back in I didn't know flashing a ROM would erase that but thanks for the help

Is the phone up and running now?
Somewhat I just can't get the APN settings to stay I would be good but the error is gone when I make or receive calls

After installing a CM10 nightly data / WiFi are working but I can't make calls or send text messages. This is my first experience with a custom rom so I'm not sure what went wrong.
Do you still have you imei number in about phone/status?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
I would check the IMEI as suggested above and flash again if the IMEI is still showing up.
My IMEI was set, but my phone number wasn't.
Thanks for pointing me to the right place.
Update, I jumped the gun on this being solved. I can call and receive texts, but I can't send them.

I see this posted a lot when trouble shooting here in the forums. What exactly is APN?
Access Point Name
It's basically the settings for what your uses to connect to the network.

I checked for that and I currently have two options:
Bell: pda.bell.ca. Currently checked
Bell flex: inet.bell.ca
I tried the second one but that didn't help
Edit n/m
Some googling led me to this: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/wiki/SMSC_Updates
I tried all three styles but each one gave me an instant "update error"

Mobile data is on too

I'm not sure what the problem is but you might get better help if you post this in the Q & A section.
Wrong section. You need to post this in the q &a section. You probably lost your imei number.

Just for ****s and giggles also verify that your imei isn't '0"

Also, is this a new issue? Did you flash/install/add or remove anything?
I was able to fix it by full wiping and re installing JellyBam 7.3
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
I had this happen a bunch of times with my skyrocket, then my ATT S3, and finally with my friends Verizon S3. I just deleted all the different APN s. Then manually entered the APN info that I saved on my skyrocket or a text file. All is well now. FYI I've always had a tough time figuring out APN settings even with XDA. So I actually got my APN info from an activated phone in an ATT store one day and have been using that since.
Definitely not well documented on these forums that I've seen anyway... Please correct me if I I'm wrong.

Just got phone of craigs that has all functions but data and text capability.
Network search gives 3 other networks but not mine (mobilicity ) .imei present, and matches the back. I installed prerooted mbc rom and no change, than converted to stock rom and still no joy. Than I flashed t889v modem still same. What is going on ? Efs folder is there is it possible it is corrupted. I know there is more people with this issue but no way to fix. Help ! What else can I try ?

I think you have to enter your carrier info manually. I dont think it will detect it. Someone correct me if im wrong.

My att note 2 shows the model number is GT-N7105 but its supposed to be I317 and it wont let me view my files when i hook it up to my computer like it wont recognize my phone i think this happened when i flashed the rom jellybam and today i thought if i flashed it to the liquid smooth rom it would fix it but it still shows GT-N7105 any help will be much appreciated!!
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
You can use Root Explorer or other app that let's you change the name in "Build.prop" in the System file. I use Liquid and never changed the name back but I have no problems with my PC seeing my phone so I don't think that's it but I could be wrong.
