So last night I was running Starburst Rom and decided that I wanted to theme it, so I downloaded the theme I liked for it, flash it in recover, but when I reboot the system it kept boot looping. So I figured that I needed to format it, so I went back into recovery and used Caulkins Format All zip, flashed it, then flashed the theme again. OUCH this time my phone would just show the yellow triangle and Samsung logo ( start up page). I can still go back to recovery but all my other Roms are gone so I cant even restore my phone or anything! What can I do? I used Heimdall to root, can I go back and re root again? Would I still get the stock rom? HELP
Download a rom onto an sd card and flash it from recovery. Format all wipes your entire system, you use format all to have a clean slate before you flash a new rom. You have no os now.
Edit: You could also flash the stock .tar they just put up in the development section, just make sure you read the instructions first or you could hardbrick.

You don't. You download it to a pc or mac and then transfer it to a micro sd card and then put the card in the phone and flash the Rom from recovery.

Your going to need a computer at some point if you've lost root. You can at least get the phone working again though.

I have a computer, and I can dowload a rom into it, no problem, my issue is that I cant get this on my SD card due to me not being able to mount the phone in recovery. I tried and it wont. So my solution would be to go to a friends house that has an Android, download a ROM into their phone with my SD card then go back to my phone and flash it.
Do you still have a custom recovery or just the Samsung recovery....sorry i should've asked sooner.

I have lots of those, the one on the phone is a 16GB and it has NOTHING on it.
I'd just flash through Odin or Heimdall and start over.

Right I am with you, but my question is, if I flash through Heimdall again will I get the stock rom? I know by using this method I am flashing a kernel, but since I have no OS as you stated because mY dumb *&^% formatted all, would I get the rom back this way?

The link i posted is stock. After thats done you can reroot and go from there. Make sure you uncheck the boxes in the instructions or you'll brick. If those options aren't shown then don't flash it. I don't know macs very well.

Let me research to see if Odin is Mac compatible but I doubt it.

Heres another option I've used myself. As far as I know you have to use Heimdall, its the mac version of Odin but I don't know any of the commands or how to use it.

well right now i have no files on my internal sd card cause i formatted that :S
i think one way i can fix it is if i can restore from external sd card which i can't find a cwm recovery version that supports it at the moment...
Have you tried using TeamWin recovery? I cant confirm if it reads external SD but others have reported that it does.

i flashed twrp through odin and flashed a new rom from external sdcard since i only have a 1gb microsd on hand.
thank you so much!
External sdcard readers and a recovery that reads external (cwm touch 4.8.4.5) ftw. I'm pretty sure twrp does read ext also though.

Hello everybody, i'm here since a bit of time and i've always found every solution to my problems. Now i've made a very big mess. So.. i used to have aokp rom, and clockworkmod recovery. Then while trying to update, i tried TWRP 2.3.3.0 touch recovery. So i made a backup from the recovery and everything and then a full wipe.. the problem is that this recovery doesn't show me the SD card partition, and the backup i made was saved in /data, which was formatted with the wipe.. now i'm trying everything.. GNexus Toolkit, Odin.. but i can't get out of here.. any ideas on how to get back to Clockworkmod?
Edit: it gets in bootloader, recovery and download mode but there's no way my pc sees it, neither with the GNex toolkit nor with Odin
Did u try /data/media/ ?

yes.. but after a wipe that folder is now empty.
Edit: if i turn it on, the GNex toolkit, while trying to install ClockworkMod reeboots it in fastboot and then it says waiting for device.. why is that??

1) put on your big boy pants and stop using a toolkit
2) its failing cause the drivers are not installed correctly.

Hey guys.
So my phone stuck in TWRP screen cause like an idiot I accidently erased system files as well.
Now I tried to adb push a rom bout I tried everything and couldn't get my both mac/windows to recognize the device.
So I now got a OTG cable to connect my USB key which I transferred a rom to use, but how do I get TWRP to recognize my USB key? If I go to INSTALL > EXTERNAL CARD it will not let me click on it.
Thanks!
Can you just load the ROM on an external SD card ? You can flash it from the external card in twrp.

Yeah so I transferred a rom.zip to my SD card than I went into INSTALL on TWRP to locate the file externally but it will not allow me to access the external memory.
Put the device into download mode and flash stock ROM and reroot

Male sure your drivers are installed properly and you are using a micro USB cord that supports data. If not it wont see it. When you say it wont connect have you opened Odin to see if it sees your phone in a com port ?
Not sure why it won't see your ext SD card. What's the size of it ?

My SGH-1747 is also stuck in recovery (TWRP) however I've never flashed, I accepted an update that kept popping up nagging me, after that my keeps booting into twrp. is there anything I can do inside twrp to get back to my home screen?
I have no OS right now because I did a "Format Data" in TWRP which wiped my internal storage, including the zip file. I'm doing this for a friend and not super familiar with the Nexus. Since there's no SD card, how can I get a zip file back onto the device to flash?
Current status:
TWRP
ADB drivers installed
Galaxy Nexus Toolkit can't do anything because it's getting that "USB Debugging is not enabled"
Currently trying this:

Of course you can use adb in recovery, what I'm trying to get across is that you may have to boot into android at least once to 'format' the sdcard, without a formatted sdcard, pushing a gazillion times won't work....

like few others mentioned, connect your devices to PC push a rom and flash it, as far as i understand when you format the data, it formats the DATA, which means /data is formated so you can push a rom using ADB.
EDIT: PS: I might be wrong, but i'm no expert either so.
