Recovery Explaination If Poss... - HTC One X

Hi
Have One x on H3G_001 and updated to jb (Hboot 1.39).
Forgot to nandroid backup (rushing doesn't pay!) and when I attempted to go to cwm recovery I was presented with blank screen.
Have tried TWRP (JB Version) and that works but as no usb mounting available cannot place nandroid onto phone storage.
All this has occurred since phone has had screen replaced.
Is this a case of coincidence or have the kernels changed on recoveries (ICS to JB), I'm totally baffled!
PS: Thanks to Mr. Hofs for assistance he has given so far regarding this, and if anyone has seen JB RUU for Three UK direction would be appreciated :fingers-crossed:.

My suggestion would be to flash any rom in order to use ums and after that transfer and restore a backup. Does adb work on twrp? You could push the file like this: adb push C:\derp.zip /sdcard/
Plan b would be using cwm blindly with hardware keys and someone assisting.

You can use fastboot to boot right into recovery.
Fastboot boot recovery_file_name.img
There is also a nandroid back up thread here on xda.

ADB works, but no good with command script. (Not sure how to structure command in cmd)
What is ums please?

UMS = USB Mass Storage

Hey,
Copy your rom .zip to the adb directory.
Boot into recovery mode, open cmd cd into your adb directory and type:
adb push romname.zip /sdcard/
Flash, reboot

Yeah ....that's the problem, he can't see the recovery so installing a rom with the recovery is pretty difficult

How to flash CWM Recovery Touch on T-Mobile G2?

I've been trying for hours and I can't seem to figure it out. I googled counltess times and it seems like other phones get .zip files and the G2 gets a .img file. I'm not exactly a noob, but not exactly an expert so if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!
If you have the eng hboot you can do "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img". Or you can flash it from inside ROM Manager. Not sure what sort of zip you have, if that's one that can be flashed from hboot or not.

I've tried the fastboot flash command it doesnt work
and its not a zip file its just .img
Ok so you don't have eng hboot.
Do you have the ROM Manager app installed ? Is there not an option to flash it from there ? Mine does, but I'm not sure if this is only an option for the paid version of ROM Manager.

Push the file to your sdcard
Then rename it to recovery.img so its easier
Go into your terminal in your phone and do this
Code:

That's it and your done

One X stuck on "One X Beats Audio" Screen

I have a rooted One X, with Clockwork Mod and AHRD 6.0.0 Rom, I have a few mods (Rosie, 3-dot remover, status bar icon mods), and I haven't had a problem until tonight when I was playing with Font Installer, and I tried out a new font, and rebooted my phone, then my phone is stuck on the HTC One Beats Audio white screen, it's been about 20 minutes now, and I'm a bit nervous..
Yeah, you should do a nandroid backup because obviously it wont boot, and don't keep it on that logo to much or you will drain you'r battery.I've tryed an app that changes the fonts but also screwed up my phone so i had do to a restore.I don't know what app i can recomend that works so far.

You don't need a nandroid. Just get into boot loader and use ADB push to push any rom to your virtual SD card then you can install it through CWM recovery. Don't forget the boot.img as well.

Try this, you don't need to push anything, this command will open your sdcard in windows, put your rom.zip in, close the folder and flash through recovery.
In fastboot:
fastboot boot custom-recovery.img
adb shell
echo /dev/block/mmcblk0p14 > /sys/devices/platform/fsl-tegra-udc/gadget/lun0/file

ok i thought i would give you a quick rundown of what im doing
1 - i unlocked the bootloader and flashed using the tools on here
2 - i received the software update via OTA
3 - however because i have unlocked and flashed it just loads the recovery option
so basically i want to remove the unlock and flash as per step 1 above
thanks
You don't need to relock the bootloader to be able to update, what you need is stock rom (the way it came out of the box) root is no problem but if you removed bloatware the update will fail. You also need the stock recovery and the stock kernel.

1. Boot into the bootloader (While in android, hold down the power button for 10sec and after the screen goes off, let go of the power button and hold the volume down button)
2. You'll see a white screen with 'FASTBOOT' in red text. Now connect to comp via Usb. The text will change to 'FASTBOOT USB'
3. Hope you know how to run fastboot or adb commands. (Navigate to you fastboot folder in cmd. And type: fastboot getvar version-main)

You have the nandroid ? Then flash the recovery.img and the boot.img from that nand.
Followed by the command :
Fastboot erase cache
Then a full wipe in recovery and restore the nandroid. That should do it.

Can you make a step plan, I'm doing something wrong
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Fastboot erase cache
Enter the recovery and make a full wipe (wipe all you can wipe/format except sdcard) then restore the nandroid

When you mount your phone..Go to control panel and device manager found your device marked with yellow..And right click update drivers and search automatically in windows update..If that doesn't work update drivers with adb drivers (in attachment)
