Is it confirmed?

It's confirmed it is coming but there is no exact date. With so many firmwares getting approved for multiple devices I would think any time between now and the end of April. Some have rolled out early so maybe we will get lucky haha.

If FI06 is the latest build for 4.0.4 and today is the 17th... that means it's been sent out to Sprint for approval for another OTA?

Good possibility.... or Sprint & Sammy are working on new (JB?) builds and being super hush-hush on them as much as it was rumored to be when they started. (Meaning we may not see or hear anything until a JB OTA is approved.)
It's all fun in speculation but honestly FI03 is a solid driver and gets the job done.
But FI06 must have been released for a reason

Tmobile just leaked an update to there update with the same name as there other update?
Mind=Blown
Thanks a lot:good:
Yeah they actually did, it's 1.1mb bigger
And its the same.
Except you only need to apply to UVALH2, not UVALI5.

Does this equate to the official build, or another leak'a'roo that's so final it may be released soon?

Yup. I went through the trouble of updsting hoping the battery drain issues might be fixed but no luck. Stupid

Yeah, plus sammobile seems to be the only one that has it. Maybe was causing complaints internally so they rewrote the patch for it?

This is def not final. Still stuff wrong. Minor. Ota will probably be early October. We will probably see 5-6 more leaks before then.

I agrer. I still think its pretty likely we will see another official ics update first anyways. Then the eventual jb will patch that. Why else would there be ics leaks and latest jb leak was originally a patch to LI5?

I dont think there will be any more ics leaks. I think lh2 will be the final and jb ota will go over that.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
That is highly possible. Could go either way at this point (imo). Just seemed they were testing patching to LI5 and I couldnt think of any other reason for that. I've been using my own version of LI5 as my daily (cept for jb leaks of course) and I've found it nearly flawless.
In the end it really doesnt matter though, as long as we get a good strong jb and they make the full fw available!

Had one the other week and it was only a kernel update. Got one today and it seemingly does nothing.
TMO has consistently forced updates to be done through Kies.
Anyone know a way to make the SGH-T989 ignore OTA updates? TMO & Samsung have dropped the ball enough that I don't care about any updates they create.

Did you update with Kies? I connected my T989D to Kies the other day to see if there would be any issues to prepare for in anticipation of official 4.1. When I tried to update (I know the update didn't exist yet), Kies said that the device could not be initialized. When I had done this before installing TWRP and rooting, I didn't get the error message.
I'm on stock 4.0.4 from Koodo and using the newest version of Kies (2.5.something??). The Kies backup and syncing options seemed to be fine.
I have assumed that I will have to go back to unrooted with stock recovery to get the update via Kies.

Not going to make a new thread for this easy Q so ill ask here (its on topic).
Today I connected to Kies and saw there is an update for my ICS. This would be the 3rd update, and I noticed after under Kernel, it has an unusually long name with "SMP Preemenpt Mon Jan 14" in the name, What is this last update all about?
Its an update to ics. Nothing spectacular but it has some security fixes and vlingo "improvements".

seems generic as some parts of europe got update... as users says only issues like wifi issues fixed.. but those are immediate responses after upgrading... u will need to wait till tomorrow to hear actual repsonses after ROM settled...

I won't be holding my breath for it, but it sounds like Samsung may actually get it out in March or April, assuming testing goes well. Of course, anybody in the US with a carrier branded phone will still be waiting forever for the carriers to finish bloating and breaking it and release their updates. Hell, T-Mobile didn't even release the 4.3 update for their latest version of the S3 (S3 LTE-T999L) until December.
But hey, anything's possible.
Yes, but it wasnt scheduled until nov 25th anyway, so actually I think it was pretty quick. But I'm surprised if the s3 gets kit kat at all, but I truly hope so!
