I use cm 10 and love the simple tethering on it. however my wife like the stock rom, so i have given her clean bean 2.3. only problem is that the tethering built in is the stock sprint tethering which will not work unless you pay for it. does anyone have a working tethering app or a way to enable the sprint stock tethering on clean bean 2.3?
Treve mod wifi tether, google it

so i s the new wifi hack thats in some of the newer roms just an update to allow the use of wifi tether apps or did someone finallly hack the hotspot?
i think is the hotspot. some rom comes already with hotspot hacked....
A lot of ROMs have had the sprint wireless hotspot hacked for a long time. I know Myn's ROM has it hacked, and I'm sure there are many more
o no 30 dollar charge?
So it seems that none of the tethering apps work on the ICS ROMs currently (at least not for me, the AD-hoc does not work), but the roms I use include hacked hotspot. Is this referring to the Sprint app that comes with the ROM by default? I have always used wifi tether apps because I an weary of activating that feature on my Sprint account and having to pay for it. If someone can clarify this for me then I would greatly appreciate it.
Wifi tether works fine for me on ICS. Make sure you choose Galaxy Nexus CDMA/LTE (toro) in the app settings.

if your rom includes hacked hotspot, I would take advantage of it. It basically is a work around the lock that Sprint has on it's hotspot feature. I would recommend that you use the hotspot hack so you can tether via 4G as opposed to using wifi tether with 3G speeds. It's all by preference though.
I am waiting for the tFD19_v0.1.0 odexed rom to get the hotspot hack so i can get back to my 4G speeds. But wifi tether is the best one so far for tether apps. Just make sure you change the Device-Profile to Samsung Galaxy Nexus (CDMA/LTE) and keep everything else on auto
I'm considering flashing a bone stock sense 2.1 rom but I don't want to lose the ability to use wifi tethering. By that I mean having to pay through verizon for tethering when I can use it freely on my sense 3.5 rom. Is there any way I can get around the stock verizon wifi tether option?

I have tried alot of the different roms for my s3. Which jellybean rom has wifi calling and free bulit in tethering? I have tried some roms when I try to tether it goes "you account does not have tethering". Soem rom let me tether fine. WIFI calling is s must. Can anyone point me to a ROM that has both without going back to ICS.
Any Touchwiz ROM will have WiFi calling.

Hello,
I was wondering if there are any advantages or disadvantages to using FoxFi over the built in tethering option for CyanogenMod 10. I love how easy the built in option is with CM10 but if it's more likely to be detected I'll keep with FoxFi. I've been using FoxFi for quite a while and just re-upped to CM10 today and am curious about this since the default ROM blocks WiFi tethering without a data plan through ATT.
Thanks!
