Hey guys, I got to pass the noob phase on my Epic 4g. Now I have the sprint note ii l900, and fine myself once again asking for assistance like a noob.
Any ways, i just got the phone and flashed on the mak's rom v3.6 with s tar in odin.... now many problems have arised with sound, bt, and battery life. When i have tried to flash over any new tom (even stock), they stop mid way through. The only thing that works now, is that one rom. Well if I can get the phone unrooted and back on stock in 4 days, they will replace the phone.
Please help me anyone, truly lost here and sincerely a grateful noob....

[Q] How do I go back to the original "theme"?

*sigh*
Well I flashed a theme over Calk's ROM but now I'm regretting it. Of course, me being a dum dum..I didnt back up before doing it.
I could always start the process all over again but for future references, is there any way to go back to the theme(stock) that the ROM came over without reflashing everything again???

What's the problem with flashing? Just do a cache and dalvik wipe... Not factory wipe, and flash Rom... It'll be like the theme was never there and you won't lose anything ?

Format /system from cwm question..

I read in a forum that going to mounts and storage in cwm and choosing format /system will have a good effective on your phone. I tried this, made sure to while cache and dalvik before hand, and when I rebooted I got stuck at the end of my bullet kernel boot screen. I'm on jug 4.1. I had a backup so no big deal. Can anyone out there shed some light on this subject?

This happened to me when I was trying to wipe my old vibrant clean before I sold it. Im pretty sure you should never format your system unless your getting ready to flash a new rom. It erases everything.

I think as long as you do a FULL wipe between flashes (system, data, cache, dalvik cache) there is very little risk of screwing something up. Assuming you flash the compatible rom for your device. That said, I flash stuff constantly without doing a full wipe, and occasionally things pop up, but I havent had anything that caused anything major, YET. And I dont make any complaints if I do run into issues, I consider it my fault for not Full wiping first. Anyway, I think most would tell you to do a full wipe before flashing a new Rom or major update, unless you are just flashing an update of the current rom you are on. I flashed about 6 times yesterday back to back, only wiping dalvik and cache, and had no issues. The developers dont like to hear about issues if you haven't done a full wipe before flashing, and rightly so. They dont want to waste their time chasing issues that may only be caused because something leftover from a previous rom is jacking up your install of their rom / work. Hope that helps....
So, I say flash away, you'll be addicted in no time!!
1. Research, know what you are flashing.
2. Nandroid back up before flashing.
3. Wipe,( or at least follow the reccomendations from the developer) FULL wipes are highly recommended IMO.
4. Flash away!
5. Thank developers
6. Repeat!
If I've left something out please correct it....
If you're speaking of a hardware failure, I'd start worrying after wiping/flashing a rom everyday for 5 years straight. Provided you don't have an existing hardware issue, you should be okay.

Extremely slow Galaxy Nexus (GSM)

I recently rooted my Galaxy Nexus and flashed AOKP. everything was all good and stable, but now the phone will lag really bad and sometimes reboot.
I tried to install a new ROM, but it still does the same thing, even with no apps installed.
It's really bothering me... what could be the problem?
Did you do a clean flash?
factory reset
wipe cache
wipe data
wipe dalvik cahce
format system
flash .zip
fix permissions
This also happened to me, even after a factory reset the phone was still laggy and buggy.
If WiredPirate suggestion doesn't fix it, i recommend a total wipe of the phone through the ToolKit, restoring it like just bought. I know it's kind of a rude fix, but this worked for me

Cool. Doing the factory stuff worked... Can I reflash a ROM now? I really hate stock lol. Just don't mess it up, right?

You should do WiredPirate's steps each time you flash a difference ROM or Kernel. If you do that, and educate yourself on each particular ROM/Kernel very well prior to flashing in case there are any specific extra steps you should take, then there is very little risk of messing up your phone.
In the off chance something goes wrong, the Galaxy Nexus has one of the most active development communities. Whatever problem you encounter, someone else has probably already solved it and posted a fix on XDA.
As long as you're intelligent and patient you'll be fine. READ before you flash.
And here's a nice resource if you do end up shopping around for ROMs and Kernels:

Wipe data/factory reset, cache and dalvik cache and reflash the rom. You're not wiping properly before trying to install.

Have you tried flashing CM 10.1 first, then just wiping cache/dalvik? Might be something in Pac not letting it flash properly. Evil is the genius, but that's what I would do if it were me. Good luck

Thanks ill give that a try tomorrow thanks for the help
Somethings not wiping the system properly. May be the updater script in the rom, could be the recovery. You may need to try flashing a stock restore in odin after backing up your internal storage and then installing the rom again after a thorough wipe.
