[Q] DNLA and ICS?

Hello.
Using ICS and can anyone guide me where is DNLA there???
It's DLNA actually.
I don't recall having DLNA in ICS or any other ROM beside Sense. But then, you can always use the third party app such as Skifta. It is DLNA certified app. The app itself is free and can be found in the Play Store.
True. I was always using a Sense ROM, it worked, then I didn't have a TV enabled and finally using an ICS ROM and got a new TV...
Tried BubbleuPNP but the results are so random.
Thanks for the answer, I'll try the app.

Slimport & Play Movies

Hi
If I use play movies and a slimport adapter them movie is only played on the TV in full screen. No letterboxing or shrinking etc.
If I use MX Player then the image is compressed.
Is there anyway around this without rooting ?
Can Play Movies be used to play local my movies from the inbuilt memory on the TV in full screen ?
When I've tried it opens my default movie player and I have the letterboxing / compression.
Thanks

Thanks I was hoping to use the slimport adapter as this works well but changes the resolution.
In Play Movies the resolution outputted via the slimport to the TV is fine.

There's no way to adjust the Android mirrored resolution without root.
Play Movies handles it buy handling the second display as a seperate workspace rather than mirror.
Other movie apps can make use of this feature, but the developers need to build in the support. Secondary display management has been available to developers since Jellybean 4.2: http://developer.android.com/about/versions/android-4.2.html#SecondaryDisplays Root isn't needed to use this feature, but as I said, developers need to code for secondary displays. Otherwise you can only mirror the app, which is a function of the OS. Unfortunately, the only way to manipulate the OS resolution is with root.

Sort of off topic, but you seem knowledgeable about Slimport: can any app be mirrored? thinking of grabbing an adapter just for Nexus 7 + Ps3 controller emulation to the TV.
Thanks!

[Q] Its about miracast on n7100

I know that note 2 supports miracast on stock touchwhiz 4.1.2 rom(AllShareCast). But does it work on any android 4.3 roms like cm10.2 or paranoid android yet. If so how, I haven't found any options yet. cm 10 has wifi-direct but how to use it there is no option in stock video player or audio player to do it. But youtube app has a option and it detects my tv but it fails to wifi-direct any way. I have a miracast/Widi and wifi direct enabled Lg Smart Tv.
Any help is appreciated.

[Q] Screen Mirroring?

guys just wondering, what's the best Dongle for screen mirroring for LG G3?
I had the Samsung All Share Cast before on my note 3, but it wont work with LG G3.
Basically I just wanna be able to play videos from my LG G3 on the TV and Youtube.
Would Chromecast work? or Roku is better?
I have chromecast and miracast works like a charm from day 1 when I got my phone. It is official supported for G3. Also other cool apps like netflix, youtube, chrome, play music all access, etc. work with it.
Chromecast works with any android 5.0 for 4.4 and before you can try an app called Mirror-enabler (search for it here in xda) I have 2 unofficial supported devices working with it (galaxy s3 mini and xiaomi mi2s).

Thanks for your input.
Im deciding between Chromecast or AmazonFire Sticky or the EzCast by Measy
I'd recommend Chromecast, you can not only 'cast' from apps like youtube, netflix, etc, but you can also Cast your whole screen (Actual screen mirroring) for games and whatever else. Not sure if amazon, etc do that.

oh cool...
is there a lag or delay in the casting?
I know this is old but miracast now works for the Roku 3, which blows the chromecast out of the water.
Hey guys.
Did not want to create a new thread, so I'm resurrecting this one.
I'm a g3 user with an smart TV. I do have a generic slim port adapte which works fine.
What I'm wondering is, I'm still not sure which is the best way to play videos on. TV. I couldn't notice the difference between them.
Slimport
Miracast direct wifi
Phone connected to TV over USB and the smart TV plays the video.
What are the pros and cons of these 3 methods do you think?
Thanks in advance!

We've tried this one w/ LG G3.. Connect both TV and Phone is same Wi-Fi network then open Wi-Di w/ TV. Open Miracast w/ Phone and search w/ TV. From there it got connected and got the screen shared.
I tried with my LG TV (webos 2.0) and it did not connect.
With a ezcast dongle, everything work but netflix, I only get the audio from netflix with no image at all.
