So pretty much, I was getting really sick of all the issues I was having with my phone on custom ROMs so I just decided to go back to stock and to root it and have fun. But now I just reflashed stock via odin and it's just sitting here on the SAMSUNG screen. The one where it flashes blue behind the word SAMSUNG, is it normal to be sitting here for about 5-15mins like this?

You need to boot back into recovery and wipe data/factory reset and it should boot just fine after that.
Well, now that it's in stock ROM, go into stock recovery and wipe it back to defaults. That has helped a few others in your position.

Got my brand new nexus today, rooted it using toolkit, then i wanted to install a rom. Everything went fine, flashed eagle blood, everything went fine. Then i downloaded an app and it took for ever to download so i rebooted my phone, then i was stuck with the dreaded animation lock. Now no matter what i do, i cant get past the animation. Still have access to CWM, tried a factory reset/cache wipe...but no success...
Any idead?
P.S. It's not me, it's my friends nexus! I got skyrocket!
Flash the stock ROM on the phone. You have access to recovery so use it then after you verify you can boot with the stock ROM then try flashing another ROM on again.
Personally as it is your friends phone if (s)he doesn't know how to flash ROMs then I would leave the phone stock.
No idea what caused you from being able to boot to this issue but this is my advice.
by that you mean to what??? because on the skyrocket flashing to stock rom is quite simple, via ODIN + Stock TAR...but how to do it on nexus?

Go into cwm, do a wipe and also go into advanced and wipe dalvik. You should then be able to reflash your custom rom to fix your boot loop. If thats successful then go back to cwm and make a NANDROID backup so they have a restore point if anything goes wrong in the future.
If you want to flash back to stock its quite simple and can all be done from my ToolKit. Its basically going to http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html and downloading the latest factory rom for your model, moving it to the correct folder in the ToolKit and then selecting option 8 from the ToolKit to extract the images and flash it.
Mark.

I've run into the same issue tonight going back to Apex 1.0.2 from the 4.0.4 leak. I'm trying the suggestion below to wipe and re-flash the ROM. I'll report back when I'm finished.
Edit: Yep, it worked!
I'm having freeing issues on my phone when I shut it off or even try the reboot command. The only time it doesn't get stuff on goodbye tmobile msg when I reboot to the recovery from ROM manager app. Is it the software/rooted roms issue or hardware related issues? Anybody else has seen/experienced that? Should I get it replaced from T-mobile before I switch to GS3? I'm using Infamous 2.6.5 Rom. I didn't flash any kernel on this rom yet. I do remember flashing Darkside kernel on my previous rom didn't change anything either! Any suggestions?
Flash darkside cache wipe (not super wipe!) and it should fix the problem. It pretty much happens with all ICS roms.
+1

Yeah, do what Ash said. It's a problem with the Cache wiper in CWM-based recoveries... boot into recovery and flash this zip: https://downloads.sourceforge.net/p...PE.zip?r=&ts=1339897719&use_mirror=hivelocity
It'll do the job.
I have a maybe similar problem, My phone fell off my hands and now it doest boot, it shows darkside loading screen then screen goes blank and then phone keeps vibrating, tried to go into recovery but it doesnt. Though it still goes to download mode. I guess internal sd got pulled out due to fall. Any suggestions?
I have T989D
Nilay, you should go ahead and completely restore your phone back to stock, then.
Follow these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1414341
Once you're back to stock, you can go ahead and root/flash recovery and go back to whatever rom you were using.

It worked flawlessly after the dark-side cache wipe. Now it reboots and turn off like factory rom.

Mine does that for about 10 - 20 seconds, was wondering if it was normal....

Sounds like a soft brick.
You'll have to get a more experienced users instructions, but I'm pretty sure if you can get to recovery mode you should be able to use a RUU to get back to stock.

I'm assuming you can get back to TWRP (either from the bootloader or using adb)? If so, load the CleanROM zip back on your sd card if it's not already there, do a factory reset, clear dalvik and cache (just in case), and flash CleanROM. This will clean up anything that was left behind from the Xi40 install. Yeah you'll have to restore all your apps and stuff, but it's better than having an unrestorable soft brick.

Just bought an s3 and the owner put AOKP rom on it rooted the works. I do however want to start off completely fresh on Touchqiz and learn how to root and all of that myself. How would I go about doing this? When I factory reset in settings, it just goes back to stock AOKP.
Thanks!

You will want to use Odin to flash a stock firmware. Or, you can do two steps in one and use Odin to flash a pre-rooted stock image, so you can get the experience of returning to stock and rooting your device yourself all at the same time!
After you flash the stock ROM, you will boot loop. When you get the loop, boot into recovery and do a factory reset.

Couldn't he do a format of everything in recovery and then flash the stock rom via ODIN?
I've been wondering about this myself. I feel that I've flashed and downloaded so much there has to be space being taken up that I will never use and different folder structures and what not.
If that's the case, could I just use the format options in TWRP and then install the rom of my choice?
If you are on AT&T with an I-747, please ensure that whatever you flash is for the I-747 or d2att. It sounds like you are pretty new at this. A lot of people have hard bricked their phone flashing Galaxy S3 ROMs that are not specifically for their device. Take the time to read up on here before you do anything. Let us know if you have questions before you dive in.
I'm not new to flashing ROMs, etc. But I'm completely confused on why when I installed the Wicked V4 ROM it works fine, but when i restart my phone it stays on the logo and I have to re flash the ROM again.
Any ideas?

Are you talking about the Galaxy S 4 logo or the boot animation? Either way, you should restore a nandroid backup (hopefully you made one before flashing Wickid V4).
The issue could be caused by not doing a proper wipe before flashing

Yeah I thought that would fix it too, but it doesn't. What I've had to do is reflash the ROM after clearing the cache and all of that, along with the factory reset and it works fine, the ROM will boot up and works great, but once I restart it just stays at the Galaxy S 4 logo and I have to do it all over again. I've also tried different recoveries because TWRP always wants a password when I boot into recovery and i'm not sure why.
(I've tried various ROMs and they all do this)
So I guess the only thing I can really do at this point would go ahead and use Odin to go to stock and try it all over again.

Yeah I'm coming from the Galaxy S 4G so I got some learning to do when it comes to this phone.
And yes that makes sense, obviously a Odin flash of stock should fix the problem?
Or could I just flash a correct Kernel and maybe that will fix the problem? I'm not quite sure.
I'm thinking Odin is the way to go at this point.

I've had success with just flashing the right kernel (and clearing dalvik/cache)...but if you're not already set up within the ROM an Odin would make sure you've got a clean base to work with.

Thanks so much for your input, now with the Wicked V4 ROM, what Kernel would be best to flash?
If you don't know that fine, I'm just curious. :good:
I haven't rebooted my phone yet, so it's working fine, and it's somewhat set up in term of my contacts, texts, and so on. I'd rather not do Odin if possible, but if I have to I will.

That's a matter of preference...just make sure to pull a TW kernel. Of course, the kernel built into Wicked should work just fine as well.
I've been a fan of ktoonsez's kernel (link in my sig). 7/7 got a little crashy on me, but 7/2 has been running smooth
Problem fixed, thanks everyone.
