[Q][NOOB] What Is CID? o.O

Sorry for the noob question but what is CID, what is it meant for, and can I change it?
I really w as want JB ROM but I have CID HTC_044.

Your CID is not supported. For change CID necessary is have S-OFF. Wait official update.

You can change cid only if you have s-off which is not the case on one x yet.
S-off give access to the bootloader partition,letting us to modify it

CID reflects your phone's region (probably not 100% same hardware, although same specs), I don't recommend changing your CID with S-off, htc didn't include your CID for a valid reason.

Thought it would be a good place to post this but has anyone seen the CID_622? I can't see anybody posting this CID and I have it.

How to flash JB on my HTC One X with cid 11111111

Hi everyone,
I have few questions about the cid required to instal JB rom on my HTC ONE X. I have red that it's important to attemp to flash the new JB rom only if your cid makes part of a restricted list of cid. I have found that my cid is 11111111 but the supported cid are:

I didn't manage to find nothing on internet or Xda that makes me understand if it could be possible also for me to follow some guide to flash JB on my Phone, also with this strange cid. So my questions are:
1) What does it means that my cid doesn't start with "HTC_...."?
2) Is it possible for me to flash JB roms even if my cid doesn't make part of that list? If yes, how?

i dont want to S-off, so can you tell me which one to get ??????

j_15 is not a valid CID. They are always 8 characters.
Do you mean HTC__J15?
Also, this is a support question, so it should be moved to the appropriate forum section. I'll report the the mods to do so.

cidnum HTC__J15 is the cid for middle east markets. It has no independent firmware, rather, it uses the international M8 Firmware, like all unlocked European versions (ModelID: 0P6B10000). Simply put, x.x.401.x RUU is the official RUU for J15.
The official European firmware includes a file (Android-info. txt) that specifies the devices its compatible with - by matching the MID and CID. For example, here is a paste from the European RUU:
