hello everyone let me make this quick.
I have an unlocked ATT note i717 thats running on t-mobile now.
3 quick questions:
Link, thread or video that shows me from start to finish thoroughly on how to install:
1) cwm
2) t-mobile radio Rom
3) Steps to flashing new Rom
I know newbies can be disturbing so that's why i only ask for direction. I believe i can figure it out from there.
Any other suggestions are welcome.
Thank you

So you know, you are in a NOTE 2 forum. Because I c your speaking of the original Note!! Everything I stated was fir a NOTE 2 ok
To flash a custom recovery, all you need is goo manger. I'm using TWRP recovery! But first you need to root your phone.
Here's a link for rooting

Here is a themed TW one that's excellent quality. No issues, and actuality this is the exact same one that I put on my friends TMO GN2 to run on AT&T network.

It probably took longer to start this thread than it would have been to search. Google and YouTube can be your friend. And if your not even posting in the right section your already off to a bad start.

worse case senario:
Although, I do agree a Google search would have been a good first start. Second, asking in either the AT&T GN2 subforums or T-Mobile on XDA. I think Sprint's just comes up first, and people'e just aren't paying enough attention. I like to think that people think Sprint users just are more knowledgeable, LOL.

I am attempting to root my Galaxy S2/ or Epic 4G Touch but looking around there is not a clear way to root it and noticed with this phone its easier to brick this phone. If anyone could leave a link to a good video or a how-to to be able to root my phone would be appreciated.
First - a two year old account, you should know questions go in [email protected]
Second - go here

My advice is to keep looking here and in the Q&A section. The answers you seek are all around the forum and the first step on the path to enlightenment is reading.

This is the video i used. Make sure you are on the latest ics build if you are using his links though. I am use to rooting HTC phones. It is much different than this. The root was a piece of cake it was the recovery that i was confused on. and still am. I used a recovery but i would like to install clockwork if i can. Just haven't tried to find it yet. Always read over the stickies though before u do anything.

First of, you are a giant troll. I don't know how many post there are asking the same thing, how many stickies tell you how to return to stock I mean how hard is it? Its ODIN its always Odin. One more time...you download Odin and then you read the same thread you read to root your phone...took me a 4 year degree to get that info.

Get the Hell off the forums, or don't reply, if you're going to be a useless bastard. This is the Q 'n' A section. Answer his question, don't criticize him for not looking. It would have been a perfectly content answer if you had just replied with a link to the right forum.
I'm sick and tired of you ******s that think you're so hot.
Holy jeeze guys, slow it down!
OP, go to the dev section and grab the Odin tools.
Go to sammobile.com and find your phone, download stock tar.md5 and enjoy your restock.

First of I technically did answer his question, second I wasn't calling the guy a troll for posting a question that has already been posted countless times "I get it noobs are noobs" but the guy is an incredible moron in every forum he posts in, just go back and look at his post history. The fact that he calls cyanogen mod cyanos**tmod every just screams troll.

I just got a email from Samsung saying the official jb update was available. What do I need to do to go back to stock room and update to OE jelly bean?

Why take all the effort to restore the stock ROM and stock bootloader, when i'm sure someone will have a custom ROM based on the official build, possibly in a day or two?

Yup, that's what I'm waiting for. Why Odin back to stock just to have a bloated Sammy rom, when soon enough one or more of our highly respected Devs will have top notch roms for the flashing.

There's already a rom that came out. It's based on Rogers. It's exactly the same as at&t without bloatware. I have it and it runs great.
sent from my GALAXY SIII
I've NEVER understood why in the world people want the "official" updates when they can simply wait a day or 2 for ROM chefs to cook up a bloat, crap free ROM! Why go thru the whole unroot, flash the update then re root again...... Makes NO sense to me, must be really impatient n00bs or something lol justsayin

I run this also, and it works great, but I will say that it's not EXACTLY the same. The lock screen news feed doesn't work, says it can't determine my country...in other words, not Canada, no newsfeed. It's minor stuff.
Shouldn't this be in Q&A/locked due to the fact that there's a discussion thread already for this?

It's just a question.. No need for some of you to get a *****y about a question. I'm on serenity 1.2 and like to have a ROM close to OE... Which ROM were you other guys referring to?
Yea I'm a noob... But I'm sure all of you were noobs at some point...

The only reason people are getting "*****y", as you say, is because you posted your "question" in a development forum. I also was a noob at some point and still act like one here and there but I also show the fellow Xda'ers, devs, and mods alike respect by following the rules of xda and not getting snippy with the people trying to inform of a mistake made. Development sections are strictly for Rom releases and their corresponding threads. Had you posted this in the q&a section no one would have said a word to you. Friendly advice from a semi noob to a complete noob!
Ps people could get a whole lot meaner by the way!! Consider yourself lucky so far!

So many things wrong in this thread
First development is for developers only to post threads
so moving to General
Second there already is a bunch of these so please search before posting
There is a sticky thread in General for this topic to prevent 30 of the same threads
So thread closed
Thanks

I've done a quick google search and I haven't found a root for it... All I found were ROMs and etc. I am very new to rooting phones, and the last time I tried to root my Note 1, I bricked it and I had to spend 3 hours unbricking it. Does there happen to be a guide on this forum or YouTube? Can you use any roots for 4.3?
EDIT: This is for the SGH I747, not the I717. I am wrong in the title. I thought my phone was the I717, but it's not.

Sorry, I didn't notice those. I'm rather new to this forum. My apologies.
If you are having problems finding anything, or getting used to the layout, check out XDA Assist in the main General forums. Its a group of RC's that will help you on your way. In the spirit of xda, they won't provide answers for you, but will help you to find the answers yourself. Basically, they will help by pointing you in the right direction for what you need.
