Hi,
I just bought a LG optimus G Bell E973 and upgraded to V20h. There are some problem with my phone:
1. After restarting the phone, all wifi pwd is lost. ( If no reset, the phone still automatically connect to the wifi network with remembered pwd)
2. Something the percentage of battery is incorrect. Ex: 39% left and then some minutes it is 40% left.
3. I set the 50% Brightness. Resetted the phone. Then its set to 100% again.
Has any one here face the problems like me ? How is the solution?
Is it doing this after every reboot or just the first reboot after new firmware install?

Try doing the LG factory reset. Power + Volume Down. Make sure you backup everything on your sd as it will wipe the whole phone.

It's a Bell E973 right? Are you using it on Bell as well or another carrier?

Actually, I din't put any sim card on it. Just use it like a ipod . Is this root cause of this issue ?

Most likely. Because wifi password persistency on some roms depend on a certain line in the build prop matching the carrier it is currently connected to.

No. You just change the carrier in the build.prop to fix it.

How I can do that? I'd like to unlock it for using with another carrier.
I have the bell 973 unlocked on rogers and have the same issue. Guess I have to do some homework now to get this fixed too.

I have the same thing happening,

Not sure what other carriers 3 letter abbreviations are. Check with someone else who has an Android phone on your carrier.

Not necessarily 3 letters. ROGERS works too. But I used RGS based on what it was on the Rogers JB rom. Try TLS or TELUS.

I flashed mine LG Optimus F180L with the A10 version of the E975 (with the origial LG software) and everything sames to work, I only must get signal (3g and WiFi) after the flash, by settings I let search the Phone to the provider and choose for mine provider, then I had signal, I did this yesterday so I'm testing the signal for a few days.

The E975 rom has apns for most carriers built in but in most cases only 3g apns. If you need LTE you have to edit or add LTE apn.

By the settings "Mobile network" and then "Network mode" I have also the option "GSM / WCDMA / LTE auto".
I can't test it, because we in Holland waiting for the LTE / 4G, so if it not work, I don't mis it.

Elisha, do you know (or anybody els) how to add or edit this. Now I have only 3G and WiFi but no H and
sometimes I lost the signal for a short time.
On a Chinese site they have it over to install bband20j.img over the ROM. I used Google translator but even then it is Chinese, it is not
clear how to do this. Mist I root the device ans then use Root Explorer to copie the file or what?

Backup the current one and move this to system/etc and set correct permissions.
Then go back to apn setting to see if you have the LTE apn. Or reboot first and try.

He probably used the KDZ method. However I would recommend rooting, unlocking and flashing an E975 based rom via cwm first. That way it's not replacing the modem.

Yeah but we don't know if he KDZed or flashed a custom rom.
I can link you to a stock HK E975 rom with root and you can try if you want if you are already unlocked and have cwm.
It won't replace your modem so you should have network. Everything will work on an E971 and E973.
If flashing on F180, make a nandroid first.

You need to root first and then unlock your bootloader with FreeGee. I'm not sure if the F180 has an unlockable bootloader for JB though.

Sorry for the late reaction, but I was first busy for my work an then became ill.
I did the KDZ methode and then you must root it and then install the BaseBandF180L.
If you want to do this, you need the KDZ_FW_UPD_EN software, the E97510A_00.kdz file.
After that the root software and then the BasebandF180L software.

so i wanted to buy LG optimus G and went through all listings on ebay and everyone has different version. I dont know why LG has so many damn versions. I wanted to get this specific version off ebay. which is called "NEW UNLOCKED LG OPTIMUS G 32GB BLACK WHITE PREMIUM TDMB & QUADBEAT IPS E973 F180" Its from korea. I wanted to know can i install the firmwares found on this forum for e973 on this phone? does this phone have cm 10.1. E973 and this phone are the same? firmware wise and other stuff also. Any opinions guys please share. And is the camera of this phone better than galaxy note?
Not the same. E973 is closer to the E975 and E971 than it is to the F180.

Dont buy the F180 unless you live in korea.

I've the LG Optimus F180L now for a month and I'm from The Netherlands. I'm very happy with this Phone.
I flashed yesterday the A10 version from the E975 with the Original LG software. Now I have the same LG Phone
without korean apss or klanguage and extra QSlide apps in the pulldown menu.
So, why shouldn't we buy one, in Europe we still can't buy it. The best Phone there is on this moment.
First of all cause of warranty/insurance.
Also if your phone got broken, that would be trouble to repair the phone in Europe cause F180, especially the L version, has some differences from E97X.
E975 is already announced and close to arrive, be patient

E973 is international version i suppose
Its the E975
Yeah E975 is the actual international version. E971 would be the next closest due to the 2600mhz LTE band and then the E973.

The Bell E973 update is now working through the update tool, OTA brought up nothing.. :laugh:
just an fyi, the q-slide apps that they had on the Asian/Euro firmwares are nowhere to be found..
My WiFi password doesn't save on reboot with the new software. 1 hour in and I already have a bug, lol.

I had that issue when I flashed the Bell version on my E971. Changed carrier name in build prop and it saves now.

You have to change build.prop if you are on telus

Well apperently you havent been here long. Ive been flashing E988, E986, S240K and all others on my AT&T E980 with light problems but I dont think its going to brick it, But it would be pointless for you to flash yours to something different.

Try flashing CM10.2, as it doesn't flash modem you don't need to reflash modem.img separately..............also one good idea is wipe internal memory before install and cahce/dalvik after install.....

You can install the italian stock rom - kdz file (your phone will probably become a 16gb version)

You can use everything the e975 use. The only difference on them is the water proof feature

press power button for 6 to 8 secs to power off device, after that try download mode, if you can see download mode, your safe.

regarding this topic is there anyone who was success with unlock bootloader / root / flash custom recovery / flash custom ROM for E975W?
I would like to read some personal experience with this. I would be very thankful.
I just looked it up and there are a few minor differences, but I'm unsure about whether or not it'll make a difference. I think the biggest issue is that the screen resolution differs, like someone else mentioned earlier. On top of that, the E975W does not support LTE networks, which the intl version does. I think that if you edit a few files in a E975 rom to make it fit the screen resolution for the E975W it'll work out. Because other than these things, everything is indeed the same.

And what about unlock bootloader and root? I just looked around optimus g topics and it's not clear for me.
Because as you described may be possible to use e975 rom for the e975w with some minor changes so i should give a shot for it.
But first I need a proper method for unlock bootloader&root&flash custom recovery. Then backup stock rom (if I screw up something...), then showtime.

Shouldn't unlocking the BL and rooting the phone the exact same way it does with the e975? I don't there are any differences concerning software, so either you could try the method for e975 and you could always try rooting it using Towelroot
e975w can be rooted now. donot flash e975 to e975w or you will have hard brick.
