After doing numerous back ups and restores, my market will no longer recognize all the apps I download. Since it does not recognize them I cannot see when updates are available.

I am also having this issue. I backed up all my apps using titanium back then updated to damage control 3.5 froyo build. I was able to restore them all but for some reason they are not linked to the market and thus, won't let me update. Anyone know how to fix this?

Any help on this?

This isnt a fix but it my be of help till one is found. If you download AppBrain you can use it to tell you when there are updates. (jsut download then run and sync apps should list all apps with updates and you can then let appbrain update them through market.)
I have the same problem on the download portion seems even doing updates doesnt fix but that is what i do as a work around for now
Get Titanium backup and use the repair market function..

okay, i figured this out long ago so ill share. just go into you applications settings and go to market then hit the clear data button. once you load the market up and accept the license agreement, it will show up.
So I'll admit, I didn't search for this topic, but I'm in a real time pinch, and I hope someone can answer this by the time I come back, sorry.
My question is this, I love titanium backup pro and how I can flash any rom, and make it feel like home right away, my issue is this, is there a way to have the apps recognized and be able to be updated? I see in the market that it only understands that I have a handful of the apps I actually have installed, so there's no way for me to receive the updates on anything else.
If I'm missing something, please enlighten me. And thanks ahead of time for a soultion!

Have you tried clearing out Market cache?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I can suggest two things:
- try using the Market Doctor feature in Titanium
- try installing a completely new app from the Market
I've noticed that doing the above will usually populate the "My apps" list in the Market after a Titanium restore.
whatever apps you have download through market, and backed up with TB pro and after restoring with TB Pro click menu and market doctor it will put missing links to market and should have all apps back in market as well ones that need update
Thanks everyone! TBP was one of my newest apps, so yeah, it didn't make all of the market connections, so I went through and redownloaded all my apps from the market, then did a new backup, so hopefully that (and the market doctor) will do it!
Thanks again for your help!

Make sure in TB's settings that "remove market link" isn't checked. That'll give you hours of fun as you're finding out now. Also after you run the market doctor - reboot. It may not be necessary per instructions and whatever else but a good 'ole reboot fixes a lot of things.
I've had this issue with the Android Market 3.1.5 (and lower) - stock 2.3.4, no root.
Usually if I get a notification that I have an app update and click on it, it takes me to the my apps section however there are only the paid apps i've bought sitting there. Not the other 90 apps that I've downloaded free.
I go and clear data and that works sometimes. And other times it doesn't. I've submitted the problem to Google but I was wondering if others see this behavior and if there are any work arounds???? It's real frustrating.
I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the Market. Rebooted phone, pulled battery. Even done a factory reset. This happens on my E4GT and my Evo4G.

If you restored a backup chances are market links were restored and you will have to wait for an update or unstall and reinstall the app

I have the same issue, I prefer the older market version (wich does show all my apps, and shows the updates better also), but it wont allow me to keep it from updating for some reason, even if I freeze market updater.
it always upgrades to 3.15 after a few times going into market
this has been happening to me since I got the phone. I rooted and then went back to stock kernel, which kept me rooted. I restored my titanium backup apps with data and I believe that may have something to do with it.
as soon as I see that I have updates I know I will have to go to applications and clear data and reopen and it will then show me all of my apps again.
I talked with Google's Market help today. They know about this and are trying to figure it out.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
When I go under the "My Apps" section in the Market, there's nothing there (see picture).
I've tried clearing the Markets cache and data, downloading/installing a free app, completely removing the Market and reinstalling it, fixing permissions, and using the Market Doctor under Titanium. EDIT: Just tried flashing the new Markets .zip I found, didn't fix it either.
Market version is 3.3.11, the newest one.
Any suggestions/solutions would be greatly appreciated!

In a previous CM or other flash, was backup and restore apps from Google account checked?
How long has the ROM been installed?
Your apps should show up in time.
Is more than one Google account synced to the device?

-Yep
-4 days, but it was happening for at least a week on the nightly I had installed before this one.
-Nope, just one account.
Also, none of my apps are installed on my SD card. Figured I'd note that as well.

Hmm, maybe clear data and cache in market to see if issue persists.

If you open the market and then search for a app you already have installed, does it state it is already installed and give the option to uninstall, or does it give the option to install?

It says it's installed, and when in the apps page on the Market, it has the uninstall option.

Sounds like your apps didnt get linked to the market correctly. I belive titanium backup has a feature to fix market links. There are probably other apps out there that do it as well.
Try this.
Go to manage applications and force stop market and clear data if the option is available. Then use a file explorer such as Root Explore and navigate to "/data/data/com.android.vending/shared_prefs/" and delete the file "vending_preferences.xml". Then go to "/data/data/com.android.vending/cache", and delete all files in the folder. Then reopen the market, accept the agreement and then go see if your installed apps show up in my apps.

I tried to do that, but after going into settings and clearing data, it leaves nothing in /data/data/com.android.vending except for the libs folder which I'm pretty sure I shouldn't delete lol.
Any other suggestions? :/

Any chance you use multiple gmail/google accounts on your phone? Market might have logged you in under an account that you have never downloaded anything with in the past.

yeah I had this problem and couldn't figure it out for a few hours, then I realized I added my school e-mail account and it was showing up in the market as the default account, I had to switch it in the menu in the market.
seems like the most likely problem.

Exact same issue here, apps do not show up under 'My Apps' in the android market. It really makes it difficult to figure out which apps need updating, as I have to check manually. They do show up as installed in the market, just not listed under 'My Apps' or as linked to my account. I have tried all the market link options in Titanium Backup, as well as clearing the market cache and other info, as well as uninstalling all the market updates. CM7

Most of us want to remove bloatware, so we root our devices. But for those who don't want to root just yet (like me), you can disable unwanted apps. It's would still be there but frozen or inactive. Best of all you won't receive updates notifications for it.
Here are the steps...
1. Go to settings - apps
2. Select the all apps tab
3. Click on the specific app.
4. If it's an updated system app click unintelligible updates. If not click disable.
Hope this helps someone. B-)
