Storage space on phone - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

How much space should be left on my phones storage? I wiped it and fresh install and this is what I have...

You should have close to 11gb internal space for apps. Looks like you need to backup any files you may have on the internal (that are important to you) and wipe the internal storage in recovery or in settings/storage.

In which of the storage directories should I save stuff?

I upgrade from the SGS4g to the SGS2 tmo and I'm kinda confused about the storage directories. I'm seeing emsc, ex-sd and internal memory. I did a nandroid, call log, and sms bakups before flashing and now I can't find any of them. Thanx in advance for your time and effort.

What did u use for back up? Cmw rom manager or what? Saved files should be in there. As if u did a nandro you have saved it to ur PC/lappie. That way u can pull it from there

And forgot to mention as long as you don't format your external SD card you won't loose any of the data saved on it. I d/l any zips into my external that way my internal is not all bloated with a lot of stuff and slows down my phone.

Sd card

I should have more storage space than I do. Is my sd card being doubled with the sdcard0 thing that happens when flashing ROMs?

I don't think so. you should always wipe the whole system before flashing a new Rom. Also if you have a lot of nandroids stored, that takes away a lot of space. I recommend do a full wipe, format system and then flash your new Rom just to make sure all of the old Rom its gone:good:
Gotcha. Forgot about the nandroid I'd made. That would explain the space issue. Thanks for the response.
Install "disk usage" from the market. It will analyze your storage usage and show you what is using your storage.

Here's a screenshot of what disk usage found. Seems to me like my media was doubled, but I could be wrong. Any idea?

It's not doubled, you just have +4GB in your music folder and +2GB worth of CWM backups.

Internal Storage Problem???

So i just switched from JediXX to pacman 4.2. And now my internal storage is damn near full. I deleted mostly everything and this is still all i have....
Any ideas how to fix this?

No problem sir. It might be because when you back up in recovery the backup goes to internal sdcard. If you have external sdcard move it there.

Memory?

Does the phone have internal sdcard (sdcard0) only or is it suppose to have external sdcard (extSdcard) too?

Internal memory only about 25 gigs usable

[Q] what does partitioning the extsdcard

I partitioned my extsdcard in CWM. I don't know what it does but i just did it cus i liked to play around. Does it increase the internal storage of the phone itself?
Ext is external so it probably wiped your external sdcard unless I'm mistaken

It splits up your external card into multiple partitions for compatibility reasons. It does not increase storage space for either.
