Go Locker is a cool lockscreen app and has music player controls.
I love this app on my Gnexus so I thought I'd add the APK for the app and visualizer here for everyone. Works well on my Nexus 7.

The stock music player, as well as many others(poweramp, apollo, or playerpro) should allow you to skip or pause songs through the notification panel if I'm not mistaken.
