I thought your device is already rooted and cwm installed
you buy a new one or have just flash using RUU signed?

Try flashing ruu, and make phone working. I'll try to find script I used to root my wfs, and then you can try to install recovery using terminal emulator

I've got my hands on a new one x, now I've unlocked the bootloader and installed CWM recovery and its all rooted, I've done all the usual with wiping everything, but it keeps coming up with installation aborted, can anyone shed some light on this one for me, now I'm used to doing custom roms on my gnex and I really can't see where I'm going wrong

Sure you are fully rooted? Try a root app such as no-frills, titanium backup etc to see if it fully works.

I had this Rom, just flashed the lastest recovery in fastboot,. Try flashing this in fastboot
check if the forum where you downloaded the rom matches to your phone...at & t one x is not the same like european one x's, because of the chipsets.
That could probably be the reason for aborting...

Have you tried installing a simple mod, anything, to see if your system partition can get remounted with rw?
Another thing I would try is to install supersu if you're using superuser and vice versa, and update su binaries.

You need to flash the kernel separately using fastboot. HOX doesn't have s-off so the kernel isn't flashed in recovery.
Extract the boot.img from the rom zip and fastboot flash boot boot.img
I tried that and it kep me in a bootloop still, and its s-on

At what point does it loop?
If at the HTC logo, boot.img is probably still wrong, if later on, try wiping dalvik cache.

Then I decided to unlock and root to flash zip via cwm but every time aborted.

Hi i am noob as you see with my stupid question. Can i flash CWM by using Haseen2000's One V All-In-One kit, should it be safe, i use GSM version. If something goes wrong, can i flash TWRP, or should i use simply TWRP included with it?
Can i just root my phone by unlocking bootloader, then flashing recovery and then do "Perm-Root" command, should that be fine
better to flash twrp

Ok, so should i be fine with this:
1. Unlock the bootloader (got the unlock_code.bin from HTCDev)
2. Flash TWRP
3. Perm-Root option
Should my phone then be rooted, or do i need to do something else?
I am bit worried just because this is my first Android phone and i am not fully familiar with those things, but i want to do it.
Can there be problems with this?

Great, so i guess, let's do it.
Does rooting and using stock ROM unlock anything stuff etc.. from it?
Rooting will give access to the system files of your android and grant u administrative access over your device, whether u stay on stock or install a custom ROM.

i thought you had a nand backup, however that RUU isn't available yet so your only solution is to restore a nand backup as stated above
