Flashtool:

what software do i use to unpack doomlords kernel?:
It is usually a .IMG file that you flash using Fastboot.exe (there's many guide in the forums on this, just have a search around)

You don't unpack the kernel. Search the development forum for the correct .ftf file that corresponds to your phone model.
Then, find a guide to using fastboot. That will tell you how to use the kernel.

Are you using a ROM ? If so, go to the ROM's page and use the boot.img meant for that ROM.
I'm using stock

You have to find and install stock kernel modules zip file in recovery after flashing the boot image. You can use venom flasher of viper forum to revert to stock

Under android dev thread you will find all official RUUs released. Find the one matching your 415.11 code.download it.
Once downloaded, run it. When the first screen comes up, open an explorer, change dir to %tmp%, you will see two newly created directories. In one of them, find the file ROM.zip and copy it somewhere else. Now exit ruu setup. Open ROM.zip file and in it there are the IMG files you seek. However installing only boot.IMG won't work. They need their modules files to work properly. That's what I meant by flashing the modules zip in recovery.

Stock kernel is the boot.img and cannot be apply from recovery. It must be flash in fastboot mode - fastboot flash boot boot.img or use any kernel flasher. And you need to flash the stock modules too.

I started making my ROM with Android Kitchen and I dumped system folder from ftf file.
But I cannot find META-INF and boot.img to use for ROM.
I tried using MIUI v4 META-INF and boot.img but I get status 6 error while installing ROM. By Kitchen's FAQ it means something is up with update-script. So, I need to find stock boot.img for latest ICS Arc S firmware and associated META-INF with update-script.
I searched for those files for more than 8 hours, still can't find them.
I hope if anyone posts them that I could be able to normally install ROM without a problem.
Thank you in forward.
Err, there is no stock boot.img. All stock kernels are provided in the stock firmware packages also known as FTF files.
Depending on what you need it for, you can download the source code(, make the modifications) and compile it yourself.
Hmmm, how am I going to make custom ROM without boot.img if it is needed(or is it?).
I can't get any other custom kernel because I want to make ROM for locked bootloader phone.
Do you know what should I do to complete ROM if i can't have stock boot.img?

Yeah, that's what I though after someguyfromhell wrote a post and I made a new zip without boot.img and deleted write_raw_image line from update-script.
Right now I am searching for solution to other problem(some folders and files are not showing up on my sdcard while viewing it in Windows, so I have no space to drop ROM in there, will try when I fix this).
Thank you both for replies, will try to fix this soon.

If you are going to do a ROM for locked bootloaders, then there is no boot.img needed at all. Locked bootloader means stock kernel, means no boot.img.
Also, it is not needed. Some ROM developers supply their own kernels together with the ROM, however it is not a requirement.
Newb question I know, but I honestly searched everywhere. Their homepage only has .img files and I've managed to find a few relatively new .tar files but I need a .zip of 6.0.4 whatever the latest version is so I can flash it within cwm already (Can't Odin since work PC's permissions won't let me).
If someone could tell me where to get the cwm flashable zip of newest CWM that would be amazing, or how to make one myself.
Thank you in advance.

You will want to install your recovery using a cmd prompt. Our phone is S-on, so you may run into difficulty trying to use goo for a recovery installation. MAKE A BACKUP ONCE YOU GET TWRP INSTALLED!!!!
If you want cm10 you will need to get your twrp up and running first, download your desired cm10 zip to your computer, open archives using 7zip, copy the boot img from the rom zip to your working fastboot folder (assuming that you have fastboot set up since you got this far), open a cmd window and navigate to your fastboot folder using the command cd c:\yourfastbootfoldername.
Once your rom is installed, reboot to bootloader. Plug your phone into your pc, it should switch from fastboot to fastboot usb. Use the command fastboot flash boot boot.img. You should now be able to reboot your phone and enjoy cm10!

You should install kernel that given on every ROM thread, and not always HELLBOY.
Unlocked bootloader doesn't mean that your phone is S-Offed, it is different.

There is a whole lot more work to get the device s-off. Your kernel is the boot img that I mentioned earlier. I am PrimoC, so I don't have experience with hellboy, but I do have to flash a new kernel with every rom. If you are going from one cm10 to another cm10, you might be safe, but I wouldn't chance it. Unlocking your bootloader allows you to flash kernels. It doesn't give you s-off.

The one that came with ROM. And please.. just read the damn instruction in the ROM thread, everything is said clearly there, I can bet on that. Read it carefully step by step or you will end up here soon or sooner with another question like "Guys my htc is bricked help".
