You need stock recovery too. Anyway, you can always install new firmware with Odin directly.

Does the flashing a firmware with Odin include stock recovery? Or do i need to flash that separately? ?

The stock firmware a you can get from www.sammobile.com includes everything stock that you'll ever need. Flash those in Odin or Mobile Odin and you'll be fine.

[Q] Please help to revert back to 4.1.1

Hello guys My phone is rooted and I m currently on ARHD 9.2 Rom (4.1.2 N7100DXDLK5). But I am experiencing major battery drain when on sleep. I had no issue on stock 4.1.1 and was having amazing battery life. So I badly want to revert back to 4.1.1 stock rom.

hi, im new to android but from what i read here maybe you should download the stock rom 4.1.1 that you had on this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696
than just flash it with odin.
Look 'N7100 all in one ' in my signature, download and flash any rom as said in op.

Thank you both for quick response....If I want to revert back to 4.1.1 then is there any extra thing i have to do?? or to download any 4.1.1 firmware and simply flash via ODIN???
Yes simply download and flash using odin
If you get bootloop then you have to wipe cache and data from recovery.

1. when using odin i have to just tick "PDA" and select the firmware and pree start in download mode.
2. After flashing the firmware will I loose my TWRP recovery and come back to stock or TWRP will stay??
3. after reverting back can I update through OTA again?

Question about rooting and flashing

Hi Folk,
I have a N7105 and I'm quite familiar with rooting and flashing roms...
atm I'm on 4.1.2 stock rom, due to a repair case, I'm still on stock because I wanted to see what Samsung
has to offer in the new 4.3. But there is no Air command etc, and I read a lot about problems with Knox and the new boot loader..
Now I want to flash a custom rom (most likely 4.1) and there is my question:
Do I have to root the stock first or is it enough to just flash a custom recovery trough Odin and flash the custom rom ??
I can't see any sense in rooting the rom before flashing, it gets eliminated anyway... but I am no expert...
Cheers
there's no need to root your rom, just flash recovery with odin and then flash any rom with the recovery

Yes, flash the MJ5 bootloader to avoid any problems. And make sure that you have the latest CWM version. I personally recommend TWRP, latest version also. You should be set with that.

Bootloader dilemma!

Hello guys . Let me start of by saying I'm probably repeating what has been answered a million times but time is of the essence here. Here's my situation.
I have a friend who has a t mobile galaxy s4 and he asked me to upgrade his system for him to cyanogenmod . He has mk2 firmware android 4.3 and his rooted I did that for him. But the thing is I have an att galaxy.s4 and my bootloader is locked . Is the t mobile one locked as well on MK2. I don't want to mess up his device. He doesn't care for tripping the flash counter as he has no warranty.
So to conclude can I flash TWP or CWM recovery on his phone without bricking it if so can someone please lead me to a link. Thanks .
Once again sorry for the repetition but I searched google and I wasn't getting a straight forward answer.

You don't need root to flash custom ROM or recovery, only if you're flashing recovery from your device
