Not really scary. Don't lose your phone and don't use touchwiz. End.

LOL..
There is a solution for this issue... don't lost your Phone

True and true. But most average users don't have other options but agreed.

So instead of Google dicking around removing the Ad removal apps from the play store maybe they should remove apps like lock screen removal ones that can be a security issue. Just a thought.

Physical access is almost always equal to root access... Lockscreen security flaw or not.

I'm not sure I understand that. I don't think the device needs root for that to work if that's what you meant.

What I mean is that if someone gets their hands physically on your device, if they mean to break into your phone, they'll break into your phone and steal your data lockscreen bug or no. A lockscreen does about as much good as a bicycle lock. It will stop casual thieves and snoops, but if someone means business they'll bring a diamond coated circular saw and cut through your bike lock like butter.

though with this, you don't need anything but the phone and time.

I actually don't even use a lockscreen pin or nothing but I can't even begin to imagine how screwed I would be if it fell into the wrong hands. Might start using something pretty soon lol.

This is an over reaction in my opinion. What average thief will have the time to complete all of these steps to remove the lockscreen. Also using other security apps (lookout for example), you can remotely wipe the phone and then a call to sprint makes the phone inoperable.
Don't see the big deal....still an overreaction to me.

Try the average thief that'll walk away with your phone and not worry about returning it. I.e. 99% of them. After all that is what makes a thief a thief.

I don't use one either because they are annoying but to a company like Samsung to have this kind of security threat to their customers is a pretty big problem for them so they will have to fix it. People in the epic touch thread thought that might have been holding up their jelly bean ota but me and several others could not duplicate it on that device so it looks like it's just ours.

Is there and app that will...

I think my girlfriend is going thru my phone when I'm in the shower, going to grab and bite to eat, or anytime I leave my cell phone around that gives her the opportunity to look thru it. BTW..I'm not cheating on her.
Is there an app out there that will log when someone uses/unlocks my phone and or sends a pic of her when she tries to access my phone. I don't believe in unlock passwords, cause I have nothing to hide.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!!

You could always clear your recent app history and check it when you think she looked at it unless she would know how to clear that. Then you would know what she opened too.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Get the app with the password but give her the password. Set that app up but use nova launcher to hide it. Give her the password upfront but just tell hr you want a secure. But in all honesty, crazy girls like that are hard to deal with. Unless you're very patient and love her you might want to reconsider. I once got in trouble for two girls talking about my small ears in Korean on a subway. Though I am Korean I don't know the language but my crazy gf at the time did. Un****ing real the situations you can go through with women like that.
...
Best advice is ask her.
Yeah people lie, but if you have nothing to hide she should have put that together by now. If you've proved trustworthy and she still has issues then talking about it would be far better then trying to bust her looking for something that isn't there.
Wife and I have open phone policy. Look at it all you want.

Screen record / multi window / screen record rant

All missing. Really? I will donate to whoever fixes that lameness.
/Rant over
edit....sigh...typo
second screen record was supposed to be Google wallet
But....you already donated to Samsung...
All kidding aside, shoehorning this into the OS that I don't believe (please correct me if I'm wrong) has been officially released (kernel and all) yet will be an ugly endeavor.
I applaud the ROM cooks for their hard work, and agree. I've done my share of donations to the Evo3D gurus, and will continue to for the future the Note2 wizards. I really doubt we'll see these features, at least seamlessly as we'd like, prior to Samsung releasing them.
While I can honestly say I'm disappointed for the same reasons, along with the fact that inductive charging on the Sprint models has been made almost impossible. (I've recently learned you may be able to physically mod the phone)
I also must admit, over all, this is the single best smart phone I've had, the only other phone I've been this excited about was the Palm Pre when it was first released (zomg true [email protected]#)
So, /rant signed, added to, and amended with a pat on the back to Samsung for delivering an awesome phone on it's own standing even with flaws. :good:
Palm pre. I'm a die hard palm lover.
I was on treocentral and pre central most of my days.

Screen record will probably need to be a hack as some rumors are going around about a patent in the US vs. Europe.
Why Multi-App view is not working is unknown.
Google Wallet is dependent on Sprint allowing it, from what I hear.
Inductive charging has something to do with the outside case contacts with the internal battery contacts. the hardware my be causing this limitation although there is a rumor of a hardware hack for this going around as well.

**Ultimate GS3 sudden death thread** (Tmo version)

Hi guys, recently lots of S3 owners encouter this scary issue that their S3's motherboards just failed randomly and the phones are dead. Here is the link to the thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1993044
However, after reading pages, I noticed most cases are in the UK, some in other europe countries, some in asia (india, south east asia). Not sure the US version (and Tmo version specificly) is suffering from this, so I made this thread to gather information about this. I know I am paranoid, but I was hoping my S3 would last at least 2 years til my next upgrade. And now Im living in fear after knowing that thread. My S3 (manufacture date is 06/27/12) is still performing very fine with zero issue since august except the SD card being removed unexpectedly 2 times by the phone itself.
(btw, you can check your manufature date by dial this code: *#12580*369# )
Edit: seems like only international version suffers from this issue.

as much as i hate to say this but if this does happen to mine, this will be the last time I buy from Samsung and might jump ship to Apple where I can take a phone in a get it fixed in time.
Im pretty happy with Samsung, I deal with warranty on a day to day basis in another way but there is an expected amount of devices that go out that a company knows is going to fail at some point and also rely on returns for warranted devices to see what went wrong in production in order to correct it.
The problem is you have "X" amount of people on the forum which is big in consideration to a regular site and "Y" with the same problem and people group in and make the issue bigger than it is. Any company that posts a recall is at the point that OVER 42% of the product with the same failure over the release.
With that said I haven't had one problem with mine that others have reported and after being let down by HTC time and time again I most definitely will buy another Samsung device, so far it's been the best I've had out of the collection of smartphones I have.

You dont have to go to the store, call T-Mobile and they will send you one with an RMA, as soon as you get it put the old one in the box and send it out. All they do is check for water damage and put it up for refurbish they don't waste time putting it through testing they test the devices that may have account info on it if you can't power it up to format it before sending it back. They ask you that on the phone.

So does this mean that none of the tmo peeps have had no issues with their devices dying? I only ask because, I just got my galaxy last Wednesday. Had a couple quirks, but nothing's dead yet. Had a little issue with my music and swipe. When I would get my notifications tones say from email I would be listening to music, the sound would nearly drown out and stay that way till I paused my music and started again all was fine. I've been getting random screen flashes near the bottom of the screen, like a ton of lines like a glitch. Anyone else having this issue as well? Feel free to add anything else if you like.

Have you ever tried it long enough to become familiar with it? I'm definitely not asking you that to attack you over your opinion or anything (because you're definitely entitled to your own opinion), I was just wondering because I effin love Next Launcher. I don't just like it because it looks really cool though (it's just an awesome bonus lol) because I could care less about showing off my phone, I actually like it because of all the added functionality it provides on top of giving you the ability to fine tune everything the way you like, and call me crazy but I honestly think it's even worth it for the original price.
