Synergy nightly 6/4 problems.

I'm running nightly 6/4. I'm loving it to death. The new lockscreen icons are great. And the semi-trans rosie is sweet, but I am having a couple issues. Booting up the phone takes FOREVER and the flip click weather sounds have stopped working. Nothing super big. I just wanted to see if it was just me.

I'm in the same boat as you......other than the issues you've stated in the OP its been running great for me......can't wait for the final release.......

I lol'd. It's still in the nightly stage and it is running better than many other ROMS with similar traits. I can't even imagine how amazing the final release will be.

I just had a random restart on 6/5 and the widget sounds started working. Huh.

ok so i have a prob, and its happened with 6.03 6.04 and now 6.05
every time i try to flash the nightly it says that the installation was complete but when i reboot im just stuck at the splash screen. every time. every build.
heres some phone info to answer most questions
hardware 003
hboot 76.2000
amon ra 2.3 ( did a fresh flash)
i DID flash the newest combo radio
i DID a vr superwipe
ive tried flashing the rom coming from
miui
royal liquid
cm7 nightly 91
official gb leak
any help would greatly appreciated. ask anything else u think could help solve this prob

I had this problem too....are you partitioned? If so, make sure its EXT3. Format your SD Card, put only the ROM and TB folder on the SD. Flash it, and then if it boots put all your crap back on the SD card.

It really depends on how many apps you plan on having. I would think 512 would be more than enough though. I have 1gb partitioned on my 16gb card and I barely fill it up.

My update.
Part ext3 made the rom finally load and I have to say it is the best sense experience I've had

who else is using cm10?

I am using cm10 right now and with all the fixes and its running great minus the 3 calls before calls work. Loving being back on cm10 especially with it being on the note 2! I need tocchange the build.prop to show its a T-Mobile note 2 but besides that everything works great! Just want yalls opinion on cm10 only those using it.

Shows you're using a gs3 are you using cm10 as a dd? I am gonna try it out for a couple days or so and see how it goes.

Why was my thread moved? Its a general question not a question. Was looking to see who else was using and get opinions but I guess if this is where it belongs other threads in general should be moved too. But whatever y'all are the mods...

I know I've seen it, but could you link the thread with cm10 for tmo gn2 here? Definitely want to give it a try.

That's the link. Its for att but works fine without having to flash anything except the fixes spread throughout the thread. Make sure to get the ril fix and the scaling fix.

im messing around with cm for now but waiting for a storage swap mod to become available before it becomes my daily

I'm waiting for a good paranoidAndroid rom to get on something cm based.

does anyone know if it is possible to disable the menu and back buttons but leave the home button for a shortcut to utter! and then enable on-screen buttons?

CM10.1 issues?

CM 10.1 has been a not so good experience for me. I solely bought the S3 to root and install CM on it. But bug after bug and gallery not syncing ....its hard to keep it. The TW ROMs eat battery up quicker than anything. What is weird to me though is that I had the S3 on Sprint with CM and all was working even on nightlies. You would think that the T-Mobile version would be as good.NOPE

Sorry dude. Some people tend to give smart answers and make it out to be like you're stupid or purposely disrespecting the devs when those were not your original intentions. You were just looking to get a straight out simple answer.. Everyone's got their reasons for what is said or done though so I can understand both sides but still, a simple answer is a SIMPLE answer.

The only issue you name is the gallery sync issue. Is that the Picasa thing? That's never worked on CM 10. Probably still in the OP.
What other issues are your having?

Do you mean that it's never worked on the Galaxy S 3 for T Mobile or cm.? Because it has, I've had it on other devices and it runs pretty darn good. besides the gallery issue I have random freezes that to the point I have to reboot my phone or take out the battery

Use one that isn't a nightly and all US s3 variants will have the same issues except connection/data type issues. I have suggested for you to look up a picasa sync app from the market before, did you not do that? I'm almost positive it never worked for any device, without a mod.

Don't use a custom kernel, don't overclock, and don't undervolt. And don't use that ancient CM 10.0 stable build. Use 10.1 with the 20130301 gapps.
The 3.4 kernel builds are still pretty buggy. 3/17 was the last 3.0 kernel build. Try 3/17 (goo.im). If still having issues, please describe exactly what you are doing when the freezes occur.
Using 3/28, I had one hotboot this morning, been fine ever since.

Is hotspot tethering with password supported in the nightlies? I am currently on CM10 stable now. Couple of months ago the nightlies hotspot password was not working.

[Q] Note 2 Development...

Greetings people. Just curious... not complaining at all. Development for this device seems to be very slow. Is there something about the GN2 that is causing this or is that just how it is? I came from the GN from Sprint and the GSII also Sprint before that and there were new ROMS and rom updates constantly. Anybody have any insight? Once again, not complaining, just curious. I have nothing but total respect for the work time and effort that the devs put in to make our lives awesome and a could never thank them enough. I'm liking Jedi X12 the most so far, Toasted Marshmallow was ok as well. I'd like to know what you guys are running and what you feel is the best ROM and Kernel combo for performance and battery.

I think part of the issue is we already have one of the best stock roms, so there aren't really any to port over.

Yes I kind of feel the same way.. Came from gs2 tmo and there was a new ROM seemed like every day likewise with updates.. But yes we do have a surprisingly great stock ROM when I first got my device I thought I would be flashing all kinds of awesome ROMs but I started stock rooted for a while before I flagged a custom ROM.. my first custom ROM was Tweaked by dwith. Being a big fan of aosp on my gs2 I looked the fact that I was able to still take advantage of our awesome touch wiz stock and have the benefits of an aosp ROM. I am currently running Tweaked 2.0 (wip) but even in beta stage it's pretty much flawless! In combo with the persius kernel I'm think I'm am a happy camper! Lol I think as the s4 development comes along we will have some more mods for our device (of course W.E. is software and can be modified).. Although I loved aosp on my gs2 I think touch wiz based custom ROMs are a better for our phone as of now.. I think if a Dev could someone combine P.A.C. man aosp and a touch wiz based ROM, that would be steller!! Haha although we know that can't happen..

Like what? You can do a bunch of mods by just editing a text file. Besides Nexus devices Samsung is probably the easiest to mod

Some CM devs have stated they may not work on the S4. Google it.... I had the Nexus 1, Nexus S and the GN.

Okay, we're talking about development on the Note 2 not s4. So what hurdles did Samsung put in devs ways? If you compare anything to a Nexus device development will be lacking.
I've owned almost every high end phone from htc, Motorola, lg and Nexus devices. This one is the easiest to mod after the Nexus of course

Okay and that's some members of the cm team not official cm. That's also AOSP you know there are other ROMs which are easier and it seems many people prefer. Plus we can use a lot of cross platform ROMs too. By the way I read that already. My point is compare it to other devices and Samsung is pretty darn good. Go check out lg, they won't even release source code.

My point was as stated .... Samsung does not make it easy for devs. Sure they can mod the stock ROM but that is why XDA divides regular development from original development. There is a difference between moding stock ROMs and original development.

Just some fun debating.
If you're looking for AOSP Nexus devices are the way to go. I see your point ruff. I personally like TW and this is the easiest stock based to modify. ..and I love odin!
On a plus side we just have great AOSP devs because compared to other devices I've run (except gnex) the AOSP seems pretty solid already.

[Q] New Micro SD... Old pics....

Hi all...
I just purchased a 64gb Micro sd card and i was transferring my pics and music which took a bit( 5GB of stuff will), but when i unplugged and checked no music and more than half of my pics were showing up as corrupted! I checked with my adapter and i can still see the pics on my old 16 GB card... i dont understand why it wont show up! i tried a few at a time or making one zip of the them and extracting on my phone but no luck... im running tweaked 2.2 and the card is formated to fat32, i tried formatting to another file system bot the phone wont read it any help would be great!

This tends to be more a kernel issue than anything else - though truth be told I know little on the nuances of using the mighty 64GB sd card That being said - what kernel are you using? Perhaps that could help someone more knowledgeable in offering you assistance.

Ur pretty much right, i stick to perseus kernel for my exfat 64 gb card. Just dont know if tweaked rom works with it, im stick to jedi roms.

Nice - and fwiw kernels can be a bit independent of rom outside of major os differences (e.g. ics vs. jb, aosp vs. TW) - I don't think I've heard of any 4.1.x TW kernel not working at all for all users of a particular TW rom for T889 users anyway. My scope is limited though so I could very well be wrong on that (though I know that one works fine on Tweaked).

Im a tweaked loyalist and been running saber for a while! Idk what to do with it but im already in contact with ebay seller "Kingston 64gb class 10" to get a refund!
