hello,i have a small probelm i tried to root the sony xperia s i make all the stages unlock bootloader, install the cmw recovery mode, install the gapps on sd card but i install wrong rom in sd card i thought is the cm10.1 but is nothing and now my phone stack there on recobery mode i cant install the rom what can i do pls help me.
If u have the stock ftf means just flash it via flashtool.. And for ur knowledge u can better flash a custom kernel with cwm recovery if u have a unlocked bootloader...
Just flash the stock ftf file and then search for a good custom kernel.. And flash it. U will have root and also cwm recovery.... But pls note that ur bootloader should be unlocked...
I preferring Stock + kernel... Using it for a long time.. No problem yet.. Good battery life...

thanks for reply
but how i can flash it
You need to flash official ftf firmware for ur model using flashtool first.. After that extract the kernel zip and take out the .elf file and flash it via fastboot mode in flashtool

I was installing Custom Rom to Stocked LT15i with (Bootloader Status Allowed = YES) phone And i faced a strange problem that I never faced before. Below is detail of my problem
1. I Installed Stock 4.0.4 Stock ICS Firmware Via Flashtool before it was on same 4.0.4 but its was updated via PCC.
2. I Try to unlock its bootloader from official site i got the key and try to unlock but Fastboot command said its already unlocked bootloader. So I head to next step.
3. I rooted it with Prerooted kernel image. name ARC Autoroot v1 its worked fine.
4. I installed ClockWorkMod Recovery 5.0.2.7-nAa-r2 via batch command provided but a user in this section. worked fine.
5. Now Problem is Any Custom rom i want to install from CWM its give me (satus 7) eroor. I preceded steps 1 to 5 again n again but same error.
6. I tried all the solution for Error status 7 provided by user but no luck. like build.prop and removing some script.
one thing i noticed its IMEI start with 01 m not sure it is the cause. Let me know what is the easiest way to install custom rom to it. Its belong to my friend.
(I am able to flash any kernel )
I search all the night but didn't find solution so i ask.

Not sure what you've been searching for - status 7 error xperia arc
You need to flash compatible kernel for the custom ROM you are trying to flash. For example, when you download CM10 ROM, kernel boot.img is included in that rom zip. First we install compatilbe kernel(boot.img in case of CM10) and install rom zip from CWM.
Download and install CM 10 just to make sure you are doing it right. But first flash kernel first.

Sounds like you're using the wrong command then. The right one is fastboot flash boot nameofkernel.img

The problem now arises After flashing the custom ROM iam stuck at the Boot logo for nearly 2 hrs .I tried other Custom Rom also but the same issue.Help Needed.
Is ur bootloader is unlocked? Custom kernels will not work on a locked bootloader. Better u flash the stock ftf and then try... If u have bootloader locked means dont flash any custom kernels. U will get a bootloop..

Hi, today I tried to update my Xperia S to 6.2.b.0.211 using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302631
But I got a brick which put my phone on a bootloop like the sony logo wouldn't disappear. So I used PC Companion to repair it and now I'm at 6.2.b.0.200 without root.
What I'm asking: Is there any way to root/flash a pre-rooted rom or whatever to have my phone rooted?
Thanks in advance.

Hello guys, u dont need pre-rooted rom or use the old .200 rom anymore
just get the .211 stock rom and u can root it!!
Seems the .211 rom is not available in many country, including Hong Kong (where i'm from)
u can just flash the .211 rom with the ftf file with flash tool in your XS
u may download it here : http://goo.im/devs/DooMLoRD/xperia_s/LT26i_6.2.B.0.211.ftf
u can flash it in without wiping data or cache (while the pre-rooted rom will wipe data)
then root it with doomlord easy rooting kit : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327473
hope it helps

Here is very easy and wonderful way !
1. Unlock the bootloader ! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560613&nocache=1
2. Download flashtool and install it. http://androxyde.github.io/
3. Download doomkernel and SuperSU-1.25-Busybox-1.20.2-UPDATE.zip - 1.43 MB http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305591
4. Now flash the doomkernel via flashtool and restart the phone. Now when you see cool doomlord logo, pressing at 'volume +' you will get CWM recovery and pressing at camera button you will get TWRP recovery. choose any one of them and flash this 'SuperSU-1.25-Busybox-1.20.2-UPDATE.zip - 1.43 MB'
ALL THE BEST !

I'm not sure if it's region free but i can instal in on my Hong Kong version Xperia S so i believe it can be installed on yours
i believes most languages are here too
but there's only xperia international keyboard by default
seems other keyboard can still e added in setting
but the Xperia Chinese keyboard is missing and i have to flash it myself
if u dont like this version, u may look for another ftf file

Hi! I'm new here! :fingers-crossed:
I have CWM and a custom rom , so far without problems . But after flash a "boot.img" , from an unstable rom , all other roms are having the same problem that, until the backup. The songs of SD are not recognized , nor the photos in the gallery (from WhatsApp, Picasa, Google, and others).
What can i do? Just flash other boot.img from other rom?

I think you can reflash boot.img from another room like cyanogenmod. If you have cyanogenmod custom rom. Open zip file and search the boot.img file after that you can extract that file, and flash it in fastboot mode with flashtool. Or if you system unstable you can reflash the stock ftf file (stock rom) for your device an do a full wipe. Because boot.img is same with kernel.sin on ftf file. So just try ya:laugh:

so you using Archidroid ya? hmm ya i've been used that rom before for any experiment. but now not, so you want back to stock. it's easy, yap you just flash the ftf file via flashtool and do a wipe data and cache. about your twrp will gone and you will don't have any recovery because your kernel is back to stock kernel. so i you want custom rom. you can flash any recovery in fastboot mode via flashtool again after your phone is boot up succesfully ok
Plz try this
