WiFi Tether.....Sorta

Saw lots of good things about Foxfi. Installed it, it shows connected, no Inet.
Bluetooth connect works...... So im happy. FU ATT.

Flash the international firmware and tethering works.

With the international firmware there's no restrictions on the tethering. I can use the tethering on the xperia play, xperia s and ion with no problem. Never got a notice from at&t either.

Besides all that at&t bloatware I haven't noticed anything missing I'll have to go into a app by app check though.

I don't know what that means. But why can't AT&T users use tethering? I have the unlimited LTE data plan and still can't use tethering. I'm too lazy to call AT&T, but I'm sure I'll get a much better answer here.

You have to pay more to get it.

Tethering is not an additional charge
If you get the 5 GB plan it's not and I can't imagine wanting to tether on a 2GB plan

When comcast took forever to hook up my cable I had to tether my Infuse. Used FoxFi. Showed to att as heavy use. Had a big overage fee but no tether fee.

hey is the only way to get the Tethering or Portable hotspot feature on the ion is by .111 LT28i firmware flashing into it cause I had stock att GB my friend rooted it into ICS and I got the LTE but I never got the "Tethering or Portable Hotspot" setting again after it was rooted.

when i tried to flash LT28i firmwear on flash tool it stops at " root access allowed " but it wont go any further ...am i doing something wrong

Yes because you can flash any of the lt28 firmwares on the lt28at. Starting the flashing procedure but don't plug the phone in until the box pops up saying to plug it in.

Sony Xperia S screen replacement?

That's the first thing I did, but they can't help me because this phone is not launched in US. I bought the phone from Amazon, it was originally from German. Sony told me to send the phone back to German, which I'm not gonna do...

Cant See If It Can Be Unlocked Or Not? R800x

It just doesn't show whether it can I call that number where it shows if it can be or not and it doesnt show it! i need help its a R800x on 2.3.4 and its Verizon CMDA! Thanks xda

It wouldn't show it because verizon is stingy, but it is still unlockable through sony's site.

try to use flashtool as well the new one has a feature that can check the state of your bootloader and can unlock it as well

Lock screen wallpaper and camera

I have the zl for almost 2 weeks and I find it weird that I can't change the lock screen wallpaper I tried the settings to do that but it doesn't change??? Plus the camera in the setting it shows only 12mp, 9mp... to chosse??i can't find the 13mp option or is just a sony gimmick?

Pick normal mode instead of superior auto. Also be sure that HDR is disabled. That'll give you 13MP resolution.

I can change my lock screen. Setting /display / lock screen

Yep, changed it to a Lamborghini just fine. ^^ Actually it is still there after the memory card died which is sort of funny.

Nope on both. As I posted before, I have the US 6506 and not rooted. Perhaps this is something Bell did to the OS (if they did anything).

Just did some research and found out that Bell and Rogers both locked their phones to the carrier. That might be your problems with this feature seeing that any messing with firmwares can often break things. Or carriers requesting certain features being left out or turned off.
Might want to talk with your carrier and see if this is something that they know about.

He's not the only one. I can change my lockscreen wallpaper on the factory unlocked 6506 as well. For kicks, I just did using an image that was stored on my microsd card. No problems.

I'm using Rogers Xperia ZL and I have no problem with the changing of the wallpaper's lockscreen. My phone is a C6506 but I flashed it with the 434 build and rooted the phone. I dont think I ever tried to change the wallpaper while on the Rogers firmware since I flashed it the day I got it.

Hey folks, we have 4G here in Romania, but xperia S seems to lack that feature so I cannot navigate and send whatsapps as fast as light.
Would anyone be as kind as to port 4G on XS?

It's not possible unless you are willing to tinker with the motherboard and solder a 4G module, and even then I seriously doubt it's possible. What you could do to get 4G speeds would be buying a 4G mobile router, but they aren't cheap, we're talking about 150 euros. Or just sell your xperia s and get a new phone.
