1st gen fire. (stock)
Has a '?' over the battery icon.
Also says it is has 0% charge.
Software issue?
I don't know if it is charging anymore; charge light won't come on.
What does this mean?
I don't know exactly what you are taking about, but let me try to help.
Plug your kindle into a wall outlet.
Hold down the power button for 10-20 seconds.
Let charge for 5 hours.
Turn on and see of you have the same problem.

Has anyone else had issues with the Amazon provided power supply?
I plug mine in to charge every night and I usually don't have issues with it. But then again, I usually have around 20-30% state of charge left.
However, twice in the last week, I have plugged in my KF with the battery below 10% and it doesn't charge at all - no LED light, Battery Monitor Widget still indicates that it is discharging. Other USB chargers that I have seem to work just fine even when it's in this state, but since they are much smaller (500mA) they don't charge as quickly either.
I sent them an email, but they replied saying that they want to actually talk to try some troubleshooting steps. I guess I'll write more after I call them.
Yes, I had a charging problem also. What I would do is nonlinear chat with Amazon and tell them your problem. I did this and they gave me a new one free.

So I've noticed for a while now that when I disconnect my dInc after charging, the battery will drain almost 20% within the first couple hours (almost no use at all). I suspect that the battery isn't being fully charged when the green light first goes off. After I plug/unplug the cable and charge a couple more times, it holds a higher charge more consistently. I've read this is due to the phone not wanting to over-charge the battery, however in the case of my battery (Seido 1750), it doesn't even fully charge.
Is there any way (aside from the plug/unplug scenario) to fully charge the battery in one go? An app maybe?
My phone is rooted.
Thanks.
The battery could be losing its ability to hit its capacity. In other words its wearing down.
Nothing will fix it. There are no apps to bump charge.

Get an external charger for your battery and couple of extra batteries. I get best result not charging in the phone and rotating batteries.

Charge the phone powered on until the light turns green. Leave it plugged in but turn it off. Leave it plugged in, off for about 20 minutes, you will notice the light is still orange even though its already "charged." Once the light goes green again, unplug it and power it up. When I do this, my battery will go for 3 or 4 hours before it hits 90 percent with my regular use.

Just be aware that bump charging as it's called, can reduce the life of your battery over time.
I have had this problem in all of the 5 or 6 roms I have tried. It charges fine but only when screen is off. If I turn the screen on the charging stops..... sort of.... sometimes it comes back on but then off again after a few seconds. If it is in fact charging and just not charging it.... it doesn't seem this way but maybe believable. Anything I should try/change or just the way it is. The good thing is that I only use this at night for a couple hours but on long trips it would be nice to plug it into a car charger of some type and charge and use at the same time. Thanks in advance.

What type of charger are you using? The original kindle charger or something else?
Reason i ask is that the kindle requires more than the "average" amperage charger to charge properly.
Also, have you checked your settings option? Go into settings and to the battery option. See if it's indicating charging there.
Lastly, I have noticed that if my kindle fire is about 50% I can use almost any charger to charge it. If it dips below that percent, I need to use the original factory charger.

I use the original and another charger and the same thing happens. This is at any percentage.
Seems as though as long as I am on the usb wall charger I can charge and use at the same time but no other charging methods will allow that.

My wife has my old S2 and the past day has noticed it only charges to 52%.. She tends to play on the phone doing miscellaneous stuff thru the day and when it gets low just plugs the charger in and continues to play.. I know on my S3 everynight I allow it to get down to about 2% then will plug it on until it reaches full charge 100%.. Should I allow hers to fully discharge til the phone shuts off and let it get a full charge cycle the next couple days iin hopes of "re-training" the battery cycles or is there something else I should do.

Lithium battery's don't have a "memory" like nickel cadmium batteries. They would die quick doing what your describing over time. Lithium doesn't work that way.
In other words, I wouldn't worry about it.

Method 1 – The Drain Way
Drain it down until fully dead.
Charge normally to full.
Reboot to Clockwork recovery and wipe battery stats (under advanced, on second page), reboot phone.
Turn everything on, flashlight, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Pandora, the whole nine, to quickly drain it completely dead.
Charge normally to full.
Method 2 – The Powered Off Charge way
Charge your phone 100% while it’s on.
Unplug it from the charger, power off, then charge it up to 100% with it in a powered off state.
Unplug charger from phone. Power it on, and then charge it to 100% while the phone is on.
Unplug the charger and then reboot into Clockwork, go to advanced and clear the battery stats.
Power on, charge to full, and then enjoy.
Method 3 :
Start with the phone powered on.
(Phone on) Charge battery until the LED turns blue
(Phone on) Unplug the phone from the charger, wait until the LED turns off
Power off the phone.
(Phone off) Plug the adapter into the phone, charge it up until the LED turns blue
(Phone off) Unplug, wait until the LED turns off
Power the phone on.
Wait until the phone is booted back up all the way, and then power it off again
(Phone off) Plug the adapter into the phone, charge it up until the LED turns blue.
Boot the phone into recovery mode
Go to Advanced, and then choose Wipe Battery Stats.
Power the phone on and use normally.
You really dont have to reboot into recovery and wipe battery stats as that doesn't really work but to get all your juice back its going to be a few cycles also this works pretty good as well https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration&hl=en
Question guys... I just got my Moto 360, and I love it. For the past two nights, I';ve gone to bed with the watch being around 50% battery. I put it in the charger, it shows it's charging, and I go to bed. I wake up and the watch is off, and cannot turn on. I take it off of the charger, wait a couple of minutes, put it back on the charger and the white charging light comes on, and it shows completely drained.
Why is my watch draining while in the charger?
Is it paired with the phone?
Maybe some app is draining the battery...
Yes, it is paired with the phone and remains in the charger all night. Even if apps are draining it, it should still be charging as its in the charger, correct?
qi charging is like usb charging. its slooowwwww, so if a rogue app is on board causing mischief, the charge of the wireless charger may not keep up.
Make sure the light on the bottom of the charger is on. Because if it gets too far away it drains.
I had this issue the first night I got my watch. It was quite disconcerting watching as the battery level decreased while it was on the charger!
I solved it by restarting the watch, switching to the default watch face and putting it in theatre mode while charging.
It hasn't had the problem since and I've now got the 500px watch face (it's beautiful!) and the watch charges in around an hour from <10%.

Thanks for the tips all. I"ll try all of this and report back.
HI,
I am having this issue, however I had my watch at 90%.
I then try to charge my watch and basically it does not charge and it seems like it is discharging. I still get the charging screen with the blue circle.
I have try the charging on both the standard dock charger and another Qi charger i have and I get the same issue.
I have factory reset my watch and it doesn't work. I cannot charge my watch now and now I cannot set my watch as I am not at the 80% needed to set it up
I have turned my watch off and I am at around 40%. I have left the watch on the charger when off and I can get like 1 or 2% charge in per hour... Anyone has this issue?
I am on the newer 5.1.1 update.
I'd bet that's down to a bad lead
Update to my problem, the device can only charge when it goes down to around 25%. Anything above that it would refuse to charge.
I have informed Motorola and will be sending it in for repair or replacement.

Good luck with that! My battery is starting to act up like that as well.
I have the same issue. My watch charges, I can see it going up. But, if I leave it on the charger over night, I assume it reaches 100% and by morning has depleted and shut down. The charger as well is shut off (no light on the bottom). I have to unplug and plug it back in to get it to start charging my watch again.
I find this from time to time; I absolutely double check to see whether the light is on at the bottom of the charger every time I put my Moto 360 in the cradle. If it is off, I unplug everything, replug everything back in and make sure I have the LED lit. This seems to be a problem with some of the chargers. Also, I typically put the watch in airplane mode when I put it in the charger overnight. There's not point in it "talking" to the phone while I'm not awake. (I don't know what they'd talk about anyway).
