S pen support on alternate keyboards? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Apologies if there is already a post on this, but I did a quick search and couldn't find anything.
So basically, I found myself using the s pen handwriting when texting and stuff, but the Samsung keyboard is a bit crappy, so I got SwiftKey. Is there a way that I can still use handwriting while using SwiftKey? Cheers.

if you press the keyboard settings button i.e. the cog thingy. There should be an option to do this
Sorry..what?
If you think about"pen detected"option..already ticked.

I have the same problem as OP. My handwriting recognition option disappeared yesterday. Been trying to find out why all day!!!
The problem might be because your new update has no handwriting recognition of serbian language. Switch keyboard to English and see if handwriting appears.

Switch keyboard to English UK, then you should get handwriting recognition back OP.

mine is i could have the handwriting feature in English UK, but after switch to Chinese, the TEXT handwriting icon disappear.

There are a couple of other threads about this. It seems to be a bug in the keyboard. Try this:
Switch to another keyboard.
Go to the Applications Manager, find Samsung Keyboard and delete Cache and Data.
Switch back to Samsung keyboard.
Go to the languages and add only Chinese. Only Chinese should be selected.
Now try to use the handwriting recognition. It should work now.
The problem is that the moment you add one the stock language (I assume English UK on your phone), it hijacks the handwriting recognition and it works only in English again.

Did not work for me. I have a German Note 2 and it handwriting in Swedish does not work. It didn't even work before the update. That's ridiculous since it works perfectly fine on my German Note 1...

[Q] Scientific/Math input - Handwriting

I know the s-notes app has powerful handwriting recognition capabilities, including recognizing mathematical formulae,
ive been wondering if anyone knows of a way to get similiar functionality in other apps, perhaps a mod or a specific keyboard.
i need things that could be used for capturing advanced mathematical formulas from handwriting, chemical notations and the likes,
the s-notes app does a wonderful job at this, but unfortunately, not such a good job at anything else
I use one called my script calculator.

myscript calculator is a calculator, not an input method, and it doesn't recognize some advanced mathemtical notations that the s-note app easily does, what im looking for is a way to insert mathemtical notations, as text or image, in any program
Oh right sorry I misunderstood

[Q] GT-N7100 Handwriting

Ok, so my mom bought "GT-N7100" and well she really liked the handwriting feature, and would like it to be in thai... and well I did everything i could (without rooting) to make it happen --> downloaded "thai" input language but the handwriting recognition didn't appear....
so... my simple question is!!! can anyone confirm that there is actually "Thai handwriting recognition", because I don't want to root her phone and find out that it's not possible
Sv: [Q] GT-N7100 Handwriting

Go keyboard only has chinese handwriting
I speak and write Arabic. What I did was I went to settings language and input press the gear icon next to samsung keyboard. Choose ur input laguages
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
did that with "Thai" language, typing is fine, but it was missing Handwriting feature, but as soon as i change language into either "Finnish" or "English" the handwriting feature came back... thats why i am asking if its even possible to have handwriting in thai
I can write arabic I guess you r missing something

Alright, for future references, yes N7100 does support thai's handwriting recognition... you just need a rom/firmware that naturally supports it (custom rom or thai's firmware), if you just download thai as a input language, it won't support handwriting

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Note Keyboard

Hi All,
I am looking for a new keyboard, I like the stock one but hate the fact that it does not do auto corrections. Have you guys got any suggestions for new keyboard apps? I am currently using SwiftKey, which is good, but I am really looking for a keyboard with the numbers above the letters, like the stock keyboard.
All the keyboards I have seen have got the number keys on a separate page, or you have to long press some keys to get the numbers.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
P.S. Forgot to add, it is the Note II

This works but it works too well. It corrects everything. It tried to correct my url inputs into sentences and I couldn't enter urls.
I had to replace it with the stock keyboard.

Looking for keyboard app.....

I have tried out a lot of keyboards for my ATT Galaxy S3, and not one has what I want. I really don't care about the main keyboard, all of them are fine, but when you switch to the symbols/numbers page, I want the numbers in a 10-key design instead of a single row at the top. Anyone know of a keyboard app like this? I appreciate the help.
Swype has a keypad layout for numbers if you drag Swype key to the letter t (5).

SwiftKey

Swiftkey has the numpad layout. I believe it's also switchable to left or ride side in the settings.

The only thing is it is $3.99 for the paid version. I personally think it's worth it. Over the course of 2-3 years it's something you use to text, email, notate, etc.
I went with they swype option for now, it seems to be what I am looking for, I just never knew it had that feature. Thanks for that. I will keep swiftkey under advisement, I haven't looked at it before now because of the price.
I used swiftkey for a while but it frequently forgot all the predictions, so I opted for Swype.
