I have CWM touch 6.0.2.8. when i am doing Dalvik cache wipe, it tells me
E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]
Dalvik Cache Wiped
Does that mean i did not perform Dalvik cache successfully? is there anything i could do to fix it?

When you boot into the phone, does it start initializing all your apps? If so, dalvik is being wiped

Happened to me as well. And no if its Giving you a error no matter what it says afterwards isn't actually done. I switched fro CWM to TWRP. Much better ui for a recovery, and it fixed it for me, if you really love CWm im guessing reflash and also reflash cwm as well.

Try reflashing 6.0.2.8 again or download and flash 6.0.2.3. Might clear the issue

No. The only compatability issue you would see would be if your recovery wasn't up to date. Then you would get a status 7 error and it wouldn't flash a rom.
I would reflash recovery within recovery, reboot into recovery and try wiping dalvik again

is there a flashable zip that will do this? how can i wipe it? I need to to flash a call echo fix zip for Miui because i flashed it and it wouldnt boot up
The error will happen if you done have an ext partition on your SD card and the cache wipe script is in the dark side evolution rom thread.

Exactly, your getting the error because you don't have one. I think it's more of a prompt vs an error though. It's still wiping your dalvik cache.
You can find TDJ's cache wipe here: (it will wipe your dalvik and cache partition as well as fix permssions). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1658182

You will get this error
The script has a duel function ... it will wipe data/dalvik-cache .... and ext/data/dalvik-cache... The last part is for users that use an ext partition on their SD card .. As you don't have one, it will wipe the internal and give you an error for the EXTernal ... so just ignore that error....
I believe miui is based on cm so the call echo fix won't work.
I maybe wrong can anyone confirm?

You've tried literally everything? First and foremost you Wiped Data/Cache/Dalvik and then also Formatted System and Data manually before flashing? Formatting system and data is under "Mounts and Storage." I know a lot of people wouldn't get past the boot screen because they didn't do that...

I only format /system or /data (if need be) before flashing a rom, never cache or dalvik, which are hash signed. A new rom, a new flash, a new /system, has different hash, which leads to cache and dalvik being rebuilt on first boot after a flash.

Okay let me simplify everything for you and you will not need to pay anyone for assistance. All you have to do is initially erase all data and factory reset, then install the new JellyBean ROM using clockworkmod recovery and after that wipe cache and dalvik cache..you can run fix permissions (i did but not sure if it matters.) If it still is stuck on the boot screen then wipe data again, reinstall JB rom, wipe cache and dalvik cache and wipe anything else you can wipe. After all that mine started working normally. If you are still stuck sent me a PM and I can assist you from Atlanta GA and for free!

Go into ClockworkMod Recovery, then Advanced, then Fix Permissions
I had a very hard time doing it too. The first time I did it I, when I setup the phone, it kept having every app crash, one after another. Managed to get back into CWM and try to restore my ICS and it kept giving me errors. I finally read something about a super wipe, but it didn't say it worked for the GNex, so I just did a cache wipe, and did the data wipe 4 times, and then installed JB one more time, and it finally worked. I never had to fix permissions or anything like that. Perhaps your phone just needs some extra wipes like mine.

I think it was a ROM bug because I flashed another ROM and everything went back to normal. Thanks guys tho!
I have a 6.2.B.1.96 build LT26i Xperia S.
I rooted my phone using DoomLord and the recovery using cray_Doze methods.
Following ROM instructions and a myriad of other combos like formatting phone, wiping cache, dalvik cache, applying permissions, formatting /system etc. my phone gets bricked after I select reboot system or power off in the recovery menu.
After I press the. power button, it vibrates once and nothing shows up on the screen. Only way to get the phone running was to flash a stock ftf using FlashTool
I've tried multiple ROMs, including CM, SlimBean and PacMan, all of them yield the same result.
Is there anyway I can fix the problem?
did you unlock your bootloader?

In philz go under wipe cache partition and select yes.Go back to main menu and click on advanced and click on wipe dalvik cache. Now reboot your phone and see if it goes past the boot screen. If still doesn't succeed then go to wipe data/factory reset(will wipe the internal phone memory,so will lose everything) and you need to reflash your stock rom via odin(if downloaded from sammobile) and re root your phone. or if it's a flashable zip file you can reflash it via philz recovery.
