Latest Cyanogenmod 10.1 MMS .apk file - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I am looking to install the cm 10.1 mms app on my verizon gnex running mmuzzy. Where could I find the latest version of it?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Download CM10.1 and extract the MMS.apk out of it.

can i just install it like any other apk? or do i have to put it in system with root explorer? this is what i get when i just try to install it.

Replace the messaging apk in /system/app/ and change permissions. Change it to the same permissions as the other apps in there. Then reboot.

for those interested, here is the mms.apk file:

i took it from the toro snapshot posted 2 weeks ago.

Messaging app crashing
I followed installation instructions perfectly on my rooted Nexus 4 but now the app crashes every time I receive a text. Can someone offer a suggestion how to fix this issue or how to revert back to stock messenger, which doesn't appear to be on the phone anymore (the CM apk replaced it). Thanks for the help.

[Request] Stock MMS app with emoji support

Looking for a complete stock MMS app that isn't themed with emoji support (like the cm10 one that was recently released). Anyone have this available? I use another ROM atm and emoji support isn't supported right now, and I prefer the stock look.
Mods please close thread. I was able to solve/find my request.

Alright what I did was downloaded the cm10 Kang fits made and found the mms.apk in the system files. It works perfectly for bamf paradigm, but I can't confirm for any other Roms. This is cm10 work so I take no credit whatsoever for it. I would like to also mention I did this with a toro/verizon device so I can't verify if it works for GSM (even though it should).
How to install:
Using root explorer, go to system > app and find your current mms.apk and rename it to mms.apk.bak (do this step in case the new mms doesn't work, so you can rename your old apk back just in case.)
Move the downloaded apk in this post to the same folder which is system>app folder.
Restart your phone and it should be installed and working.
Edit: forgot to mention that once the MMS is installed to turn on emoji support under the MMS settings in the bottom. Any questions ask away.
It doesn't work on stock JRC03C, force closes.
Hopefully people don't get upset about me replying to an old thread but I used the above Mms.apk and found that it didn't have CM10's "Quick Reply" so I copied over the emoji pngs used by Gja88 into the newer CM10 MMS app.
Since this was the only thread that I could find with the non-Android-ified emoji I will put up my Mms.apk too. This has no Android creature emojis (instead they all look like the emoji on the iPhone) and it has CM10's QuickMessage feature.
Thank you Gja88 & CM10 for the original leg-work here, please read Gja88's earlier posts. I have only tested it on my LTE GNex running CM10 M2

Original Google Calendar apk (AOSP) - Where to get / how to install (on JB)?

Just updated to official JellyBean (Polish), although rooted and deoxed.
Now again the original Google calendar (with pinch zoom timeline) is gone.
Does anybody know where to get the AOSP Google calendar.apk and how to install it (I don't want to re-install all gapps as a bulk brute-force effort)?
Also, with 4.0.4 adding AOSP calendar.apk to SAmsung official TW rom resulted in double Calendar alerts: one from S Planner and another from AOSP calendar.apk. Is there a way to solve this?
Thanks for all the help (yes, I've tried searching, but haven't found a solution yet).
EDIT: have tried the following:
1) Attempt to install CalendarGoogle.apk (taken from original JB AOSP apk files thread) from internal sdcard (fails, even if "install from unknown sources" is enabled, result is: "Application not installed))
2. Copy calendargoogle.apk to /system/app/ and reset the permissions to proper state with Root Explorer & reboot & build Dalvik cache (app is nowhere to be accessed).

Just install Android 4.1 Jellybean Calendar by Tim Hutt from the Play Store. Works a treat.

That's actually almost ICS 4.0 calendar, not the fully functional 4.1 Jelly Bean Calendar ("I had to disable a few new features from Jellybean that don't work on ICS" as the author says).
So close, but not quite the same.
I am running JB after all, not ICS.
Anybody have an idea how to get AOSP Google Calendar (full JB version) to run on TW JB builds?

[Q] ISO someone who knows how to view and edit apk. Strange issue...

So going on the basis that every phone is different I've been struggling with this issue and I'm tired of using my work around, and I need someone's help.
Every ROM I flash (AOSP only) when I send someone a picture message it arrives on their end "blank" Now when I say blank, it is marked as 1kb and the preview in the MMS is a white box. If they save the attachment it is fine and as intended in the gallery...
After flashing every AOSP ROM with the same results I assumed it was my phone and nothing I can do about it.
UNTIL I flashed JusTun Bean's inverted gapps package and VOILA! It worked just fine... and I have no idea why...
Whenever I flash a new ROM I now put the inverted MMS in the system/app folder and install it until I flash another ROM.
So what I need is if anyone has ANY ideas or is able to view the two MMS.apk files and see if there is a difference that stands out I'd be super grateful.
The AOKPMms.apk is the JusTun Bean's Inverted that works.
The AOSPAMms.apk is the ParanoidAndroid Mms that I'm using right now that doesn't work.

[SOLVED!]CM camera app

Hey, after flashing few ROM I saw that not all of them have the CM camera app (with the advanced settings, specially the Power shutter feature).
I tried adding it manually to AOSPA (removed old GoogleGallery.apk and moved Gallery2.apk to system/app),
but I didn't worked out (Gallery worked, Camera FC).
Is there a solution for this?
Update - on vanilla rootbox it worked. Maybe I did something wrong on PA..
(or it just not supported on PA?)
SOLVED!
SlimRom's Gallery2.apk is working!!!!

Thanks sarkar1990!
There is a flashable zip somewhere on xda I will post a link if I can find it again

And it works on every ROM?
Umm.. Anyone know what files are related to the camera app?
Maybe I'll replace them with the files from CM.
...?
No one knows?
Should I ask on another forum?
I want to have the same camera
I'm also using Vanilla Rootbox (4.0) and I still have the stock camera with stock options - has anybody an idea on how to fix this?
On rootbox I think you can just download the gallery2.apk (download CM and only unzip this app, system>app).
Then remove (or move) old gallery (GoogleGallery.apk).
Move gallery2.apk, change permissions (like other system apps) and restart.
If you can't move it, you need to mount you system partition (r/w), search Google (it's simple).
What I think problem with aospa is that it's missing libraries because it's mostly stock.

It works perfectly - thanks a lot. In case anybody out there is as new to it as I am: Use ES Explorer and use it's Root Explorer - it's as simple as this
That's exactly what I used to install CMFileManager
Solved!
------------------
Well, it didn't really solved.
When I click on the power button the device lock, not taking a picture.
I guess there is still something missing.
I'm having a real terrible go at this. I somehow removed the original google gallery apk through ES File Explorer and Installed Gallery2.apk but it crashes every time I try to open it.
I have a Sprint Galaxy Nexus running CM10.1 RC3. I know I must be missing a step or something. Help please.
As I said in another thread, I don't know how to solve it. After updating aospa slimroms camera crashes too.

[REQUEST] AOSP apps package Android L

I've been using the Android L port and I'm loving it. The only problem is that I hate all the official google apps. Plus the ROM only comes with Google photos. I really want to put something together once the ROM is more stable (although it really is good right now) that includes aosp style apps.
Does anyone know where I can get the apps? Can I just pull them from a custom ROM? Or can someone put together a zip that has a few aosp apps? I'm mainly thinking browser, gallery and a file manager, but suggestions are welcome.
EDIT: I was able to pull the apks out of another ROM, I chose the latest (7-20 at time of writing this) CM11 and put the files where they should be /system/app and I changed the permissions to match other files in the same location. Then I rebooted to recovery and wiped both caches. File manager (CM File Manager) and gallery worked fine, I can't figure out browser though. I found an app on the play store that was an AOSP Browser installer and tried that too, but browser keeps crashing on launch. So if anybody knows how to make AOSP browser install please enlighten me.
Thank you.
