What firmware/kernel/build do you need to root? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I am curious is there a certain firmware you have to have to be able to root the Note II? The phone's kernel is 3.0.31..... and Build number is JRO03C.T889UVALL4. Is this rootable?

We have unlocked bootloaders, any version is rootable...

Bootloader and CM questions..

Colleagues,
I have an SGH-i317 AT&T Galaxy Note II. It is rooted, has TWRP 2.8.1.0 and SuperSU 2.46 and TitaniumBackup all of which work just fine. I used Odin 3.10. I'm about to flash custom ROMSs CM10.2 and CM11. I have a couple things I don't quite understand before I flash. Hopefully someone can help. In the past, AT&T forced OTA upgrades so I'm at runnign rooted 4.4.2. (Specifics on my firmware are below.)
1. I know Android has broken a third party app's ability to save files to the external SIM. Is this problem inherent ONLY to vendor 4.4.2 builds like AT&T's, or does CM and other custom ROMS that are based upon 4.3 and 4.4 suffer from the same dumb limitation?
2. I've read online that the boot loader software became vendor-signed-package aware and is now a "locked" bootloader. AT&T forced my perfectly good 4.1.2 to go to 4.3 and consequently to 4.4.2. Is it not possible to actually replace that bootloader? If not, why not? Is that not possible at this time?
3. I noticed that for my SGHi317 that there is no such thing a an t0lteatt anymore for CM11 since they have merged their development branches. So will the latest t0lte work for SGH-i317? Do I need to do anything special other that flash it and the correct gapps to the phone?
Thanks for the help!

[Q] [SGH-M919N] rooting s4 metropcs

i was just wanting to know if their is a way to root the s4 metropcs version. i'm on android 4.4.4 with kernel 3.4.0 and people told me about CF-Auto-Root but my bootloader is locked so that won't work. then i heard about towelroot which doesn't need an unlocked bootloader. do you think towelroot will work? it said that it should work on kernels lower than 3.5.5 which mine is but it says android 4.3 though. any help would be awesome!! thanks!!!

How to update rooted SM-T835 Korean version from ARGH TO latest rooted?

I would like some help with how to update rooted SM-T835 Korean version from ARGH TO latest firmware.
My tab is currently rooted with Magisk / TWRP and I want to keep everything the same, but receive the latest update. I am afraid of triggering RMM, or other issues that might prevent me from keeping root in the future. how do I avoid those issues?
Also I am an American using a Korean version with Korean firmware. Any way I can also flash to a US build or would that cause other unintended issues? Currently my carrier does not recognize the model as a known US tablet... Thus allowing me unrestricted data as if it were a smartphone. I also don't want to mess that up either ... Any idea if carriers identify model based on firmware as well? I'm guessing they wouldn't know my firmware version anyways.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Did you ever find out how to do this?

Is it possible to install USA AT&T or TMob firmware on G9600 and root it

I'm planning to get the G9600 since the Exynos has battery issues.
I don't need to install a lot of custom ROM's , I'll be happy with rooted stock and microG, even though I see that TWRP and unofficial Lineage is already available for the 9600
If I need to use VOLTE and HD Voice on ATT or T-Mob, do I need to install the US firmware? If yes, is it possible to root the USA firmware since the 9600 has an unlocked bootloader?

Does anyone know if this version of Galaxy S20 Ultra can get root?

Can the S20 with model number ‎SM-G988UZAAXAA be rooted? Or is it's bootloader not unlockable?
Depends on the software version that it has installed. But the version has to be at least a year old at this point, in order to be unlockable
