[App][DIY] Changing Bubbles in NoiseField - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I'm not trying to blow your mind here just having some fun.
I replaced the dot nodpi folder with a baseball.
Changing the background is beyond my limited ability.
Instructions:
1. [optional] Using a root file manager, go to System/App and rename NoiseField.apk to NoiseField.bak [so you can switch back when/if you like]
2. Using a root file manager Copy/Paste BBNoiseField.apk and rename to NoiseField.apk then change permissions [un-check Group/Write]
3. Reboot and Apply in live wallpaper.
This is as easy as it gets.
D!I!Y! and put your face in the bubble. or your kid's face. or your favorite food.
D.I.Y. explained better in post #3 Thanks DeHuMaNiZeD!

The diy for modding the deskclock was my intro to easy system app png replacing.

Here too is a modded blue ball to jelly bean.
I used apktool for this and the pic is 164x164 I believe but you can use 7zip diy to replace pic.

Easier way using root explorer:
1. Copy the app and paste it in sdcard
2. Extract it
3.go to extraction folder and delete dot.png
4. Replace it with your image
5.zip it
6. Rename the extension to apk
7. Move it to your system/app folder and reboot
Simple.

Can this be done?

Here's what I have so far for a homescreen. I really want the top center clock to be white, and if it all possible the wifi/signal bars to be white as well. Something simple like MIUI. Also, is there a way to hide the vibration/silent icon from the notification bar? Any dice??

what about trying Statusbar+ ?

if you extract and upload the SystemUI.apk from whatever ROM you are using, i can make a few of the edits you are asking for. i will also write out the steps for you if you want to try it yourself or do it again in the future. it's actually pretty simple to modify a lot of these images with 7-zip and a photo editor.
1. open (open, not extract.) the ROM archive with 7-zip. browse to system/app/SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-xhdpi.
2. locate the following files and extract them:
stat_sys_signal_1_fully.png
stat_sys_signal_2_fully.png
stat_sys_signal_3_fully.png
stat_sys_signal_4_fully.png
stat_sys_wifi_1_fully.png
stat_sys_wifi_2_fully.png
stat_sys_wifi_3_fully.png
stat_sys_wifi_4_fully.png
stat_sys_ringer_silent.png
stat_sys_ringer_vibrate.png
3. edit the images so that the bar color is white, and edit the silent/vibrate images so that they are totally transparent (blank).
4. save those images, and drag them back into the drawable-xhdpi folder in 7-zip. say "yes" to the prompts about overwriting files or changing/updating the archive.
5. you can now flash that ROM file as is. 7-zip won't mess up the signatures. or if you don't want to flash the whole ROM over, you can simply extract the SystemUI.apk and do the edits in the apk file directly. then you can push the apk back to your phone.
the clock color in the status bar will need an XML edit or two, which is unfortunately a bit over my head, but this will at least get you most of the way there in your vision for your homescreen.

[MOD][APP]Stock SMS/MMS app with emoji icons (Yellow Smiles) for deodexed XXUFME3

Hi mates!!
I would like to share this modded app that i've just made.
All that i did was decompile apk and just change the old and annoying green android smiles with the pretty cool yellow emojis one!
It was made with SecMMS.apk taken from the latest leaked I9300 firmware (4.2.2) XXUFME3 DEODEXED.
It wasnt tested in any other versions of firmwares, so i cannot guarantee that it will work on another based firmware.
Install Instructions:
You will need root, deodexed firmware and a root browser, i recommend Root Browser Lite
Before you proceed to steps below, i encourage you to make a nandroid backup
1 - Download the attachment file, and rename it from SecMms_emoji.apk to SecMms.apk
2 - Browse to /system/app/ and rename the original apk from SecMms.apk to SecMms.apk.bkp, or whatever you want, or simply delete it.
3 - Copy the downloaded and renamed file SecMms.apk and paste it on /system/app/
4 - Change apk permissions to 0644 (rw-r--r--)
5 - Reboot your phone and youre ready to go!
Enjoy your new smiles and sorry for my bad english!
I'm not responsible for any damage caused on your phone. Using this apk you're must have agree with it.

Bootanimation I pieced togehter.

I pieced together 3 different animations to make a single bootanimation. Credits for the original animations go to the original creators.
I figured I'd share this bootanimation with the community. If you like, then enjoy.

WARNING: INSTALLING A BOOTANIMATION IMPROPERLY CAN PREVENT ACCESS TO YOUR PHONE REQUIRING RECOVERY TO FIX. PLEASE FULLY UNDERSTAND HOW TO INSTALL A BOOTANIMATION TO PREVENT ISSUES WITH YOUR PHONE.
Instructions:
1. Download bootanimation from this link: LINK
2. You'll need root access on your phone, as well as a file manager that has root access abilities. I use ES File Explorer and have the "Root Explorer" option turned on.
3. Using your file explorer, navigate to system > media
4. In the media folder resides an existing bootanimation.zip file. Either rename that existing file to something different for use later, or overwrite it by pasting the new bootanimation.zip file.
5. Now you must ensure the permissions are set properly for the bootanimation.zip file. I posted a pic below illustrating how the permissions must be set. This step is extremely important, so ensure its done right. If not set properly, you might lose access to your phone upon booting.
6. Reboot phone, and the new bootanimation will play.
nice to bad it wont work with stock :/.....but you should make more boot animations

Any way to remove grey circle background from lockscreen shortcuts?

If anyone could offer some advice I'd be very grateful!
I used Unicon to apply an icon pack across my device, so my home screen currently looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
My lockscreen on the other hand displays the shortcut icons in grey circles:
What I'd like to do is remove those grey circles such that the shortcuts look like the ones on my home screen. I do have G3 Tweaksbox but it doesn't seem to offer a solution to this.
Thanks!
Open "lgkeyguard.apk" in /system/priv-apps/
via apk-decompile / winrar (extract the res/drawable-xxxhdpi folder)
Search the picture corresponding with the background you want to change.
Copy the recompiled apk back after recopying the picture.
Done.

Great, thanks! Unfortunately I've never dealt with decompiling/recompiling apk's before, so I'll have to approach this stuff carefully. I actually can't find lgkeyguard.apk in /system/priv-app/ using Root Browser though - is it possible that is has a different name / location in Lollipop?
/system/priv-app/LGKeyguard.apk
is the exact path for me (KK 4.4.2)
You could do a search for it using your filebrowser if it isn't there in LP.
Replacing pictures in apk files via Winrar is rather save.
I'd suggest that if you haven't tinkered with apk's b4.
Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it!
