DIY Mounting Bluetooth Gamepad!! - Galaxy S II Accessories

I have a silly video of it in action:
Notice the "trademark" blue coat hanger that I use. I will release pictures of the second generation soon (I actually made it more than 6 months ago, but never got around to sharing it).
Should I make a tutorial? I kinda came up with this specific method of mounting the phone myself, so I assume other people can DIY a mount their own way.

wow .. nice

Here is the second one. I am moving away from the Bluetooth Mini Keyboard, mainly because it doesn't have any shoulder buttons/bumpers/triggers. I will make one for the PS3 Sixaxis controllers next.

I may have been a year too late with this post...

Did you use hangers?
A tutorial would be fine. I have a Bluetooth keyboard rolling for my room since a year

Yes, I did use hangers. I might make a tutorial next week.

In the meantime, here is another picture:

Bump
Here is an all in one picture of all the generations I have made since late 2009. I bought a pack of 10 coat hangers back then, and I finally used them all up yesterday. I used two hangers for the hinged 2nd and 5th generations, and wasted two in failed attempts.
The number in the top left corner indicates generation.

Yes, that's why I specifically buy the bendable ones.
^This is the 4th gen without the Galaxy S2 in flip case

Looks really awesome and creative!

It's great fun! Both to make and to use.

I hope it's not too late to post in this thread, but this selfmade case is great. :good:
I'm also working on something likle this for Android devices. In my opinion flippable cases with an integrated keyboard/controller are the best for gaming, since they are portable, which "GameKlip" controllers aren't - just as an example.
So like I said, I'm working on such a case for the Nexus 5. Any advice, what gamepad might be flat enough to fit? The whole construction should work like Nintendo's "DS" consoles (except that the phone doesn't need 2 screens, but I guess it's clear what I mean all in all. ).
Well, I think the whole thing should still be closable, which seems to be a problem at the moment, but finding a solution might be a big step for portable gaming.
Thanks for any reply and opinions.

Skin/ Phone Template Request

Hi there.
Iv been looking for a case for quite a while now and to be honest i dont really want one. So my next choice is a skin for the phone.
Before buying either the Ghost Armor or Skinomi TechSkin.. i was thinking of making one myself.
How you might ask? Well my Dad has all types of vinyl and a vinyl cutter.... He makes signs.
What im looking for is a template of either skin or a template (dimenstions) of the phone itself so i can design one myself.
If it all goes well ill take a few pictures of it and post it up here.
I havent had much time to search for a template/dimenstions since i only thought of it now.. and im going a sleep pretty soon. I would be greatful if anyone could help me out.
Last resort would be to scan the phone with a scanner lol...
Thanks.
I just done some quick free hand work of the back cover and a little bit of the side..

Dont mind the color.. i just picked it at random from lots of different ones haha.
After tonight im free for four days.. so like i said before.. any help on finding some sort of template etc would be very helpful.
Thanks.
edit:
I was event thinking of doing a full 1 piece skin.. which covers the back and sides since i never remove my battery or sim.
Bump... no on?
Im finishing work in a few hours and would love to start straight away
Honestly for $15 you can't beat gelaskins. You can use any image you want. So basically the sky is the limit.
I just don't know if it is worth all the time and energy since gelaskins is so affordable.

Arkon stand for Note 2

I remember someone was looking for a Note 2 portable stand. I just got this one for my Nexus 7, but it works great for Note 2 as well in both landscape and portrait modes. VERY sturdy design, and folds nicely into a compact stick. High quality construction, lightweight, and will work for any large phone and tablets from 7" to 10"+.
http://www.arkon.com/tablet-accessories/tablet-stand.html - and you can actually get it at Amazon for $8 plus change where it has over 1k reviews with an average 4.75 rating.

These holding up really well since March and took a lot of kids abuse. Its on amazon for $7.15, great deal I thought to share with you guys.

I can back this up. I have one of these and although it isn't the smallest, it's fantastic. very stable and adjustable for a wide range of sizes and positions. I have had it for over a year and travel daily with it. I'm not gentile but not abusive. It's well worth the money IMO.
Nift idea. Have one for my tablet but never thought about using it for my note ii.
Btw, as a warning. Make sure when you shop on Amazon you check who is the actual seller. It gets so confusing with different choices. Apparently there are counterfeit Arkon stands sold under the main listing from other suppliers (especially from sellers in China). Those come in a white box with some graphics on it. These knock offs are of a poor quality. The real Arkon product will come in a clear package. I didn't even realize that until start reading some of the comments on Amazon and contacted Arkon with a question. That's how I learned about knock offs

[Q] recommended slim case with no S-Pen troubles

I had two cases already,
a 360 case and a slim leather with magnets.
the 360 was very convenient for standing positions with alot of options, but was too big.
the leather was very slim and comfort for holding and taking away, but the angles for positions were lacky and the magnets are messing up with my S-Pen and that's unacceptable for me. The tablet is 90% for studying (I write on it as notebook) and I have to have it working..
Do any of you perhaps found some good cases with fine viewing angles and positions but yet slim and light?
I only care for 2 viewing angles:
~80 degree, a standing one for watching, it doesn't have to be super stable at that one
~30 degree, for writing, this one must be stable.
I'm willing to invest few extra bucks for a fine case.
please share what have you already found, I don't wanna waste more money and time for 'testing'.. Asking the sellers is pointless, they barely speaks English and 100% don't understand what the freak do I want from them
Thanks alot ahead!

if you put the case on that angle:

Can you lean your hand on it and write? is it comfort for writing or does it bounce up and down easily? how stable is it?
Also, have you found one of these (especially the Moko one that caught my eyes) on eBay?
I'm not from USA, so amazon is pretty useless for me, and I can't find it on eBay aswell

It Does Bounce some. Also if you stand it up it will try to slide out of the Clips. I put a piece a two sided tape on the back across the top to prevent this..
But in either position i can Use the s-pen. I like the case because its simple but protects the screen from scratching when out and About.
I agree - in the position shown, I have no problem using the S-Pen.

[How-To] Use Magtron adapter with Devilcase

So I bought my red and shiny Devilcase after my screen shattered while using a beloved Rockit flipcase.
This is for anyone that want to use a Magtron adapter with a cover that is not compatible.
Tools needed:
- Sandpaper/Dremel tool (see picture)
- Patience
Optional:
- Fine grain sandpaper
Step one:
- An image is worth a thousand words so follow instructions in the given picture.
Step Two (optional):
- Use fine sandpaper (800 to 1200) to apply desired level of polish.
Result:

As you can see my result is not very polished because I don't really care about the look of the adapter, I need it to work and I don't wanna risk to damage the goddamn flap every time I charge the phone.
DISCLAIMER: I'm not responsible for any damage you may cause to your stuff or yourself.
TESTED IT WITH DEVILCASE AND Z3C.
hey mate, I've got the black devilcase on my Z3C atm and was actually just the other day considering purchasing one of these adapters. So thanks for posting this, looks like a simple mod. (I've already got a dremel).
Do you have a set of verniers handy? It would be cool to know how many millimeters I need to shave off, although in your photos it looks like about 1mm?
Glad it helped! 1mm around the plugs and 0.5mm below the plugs. Make few tries, if you sand too little you can sand a bit more, if you sand too much you may face a problem. It takes 5 minutes with a Dremel.
Nice!
Im now buying the Z3C and havent got the magnetic adapter/cable yet.
Im planning to use DevilCase too..is there any cable or adapters(preferably) that fits well without enhancements?

I am currently using this cable with the devil case. Fits perfect. Only reason I'm looking at the adapter is I'm planning to make a car cradle that charges the phone
Expensive! aren't there adapters maybe?
Sure is, the ones referenced in the first post.

Benuo Leather Card Case

Hey guys, I recently got hooked up with the sweet case. It's made by a company called Benuo. I got the black version.

I really liked it. It definitely will come in handy on a vacation or short get away. I tested it in a few different scenarios. It doesn't work with Samsung Pay if you have two cards in it (which is the purpose of the case.) If you don't use Samsung Pay, this won't be a big deal. I use Samsung Pay for nearly all my purchases so the case will only be used when going somewhere where I'd like to have less in my pockets.
I also tested it with wireless charging. That was a hit or miss. It worked with my stock Samsung Wireless Fast Charger but didn't with my off brand wireless fast car charger. Also, when I did wireless charge it, it retained a lot of heat. (I'd recommend not using the case while wirelessly charging.)
Overall, I think the quality of the case is decent. It gets the job done while providing its purpose, to hold two of your cards. I don't see myself using it unless I will be on vacation or going out. That isn't to say that it isn't a great case cause it is. I'd definitely recommend it to someone who would like to save some room in there pockets.

I too picked up this case. I have to admit... I really like this case. The fit is good but the corners are not snug. I thought that was a flaw until I needed to use Samsung pay. It came right off with no issue and came back on.
The leather is legit. Stitching was strong. While it won't be my daily driver, its good when I go out.
