Please help - stuck on HTC logo screen - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys
Can you help me out please.
I have HTC Desire HD
It has clockworkmod recovery installed
when i put the phone in bootloader mode, it is
****UNLOCKED****
ACE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
The phone is stuck on the HTC logo screen
I have flashed a custom ROM
and then tried to flash BOOT.IMG via ADB
when I type adb devices, I get a blank return message.
I believe the issue is that I need to flash boot.img to get the ROM working
I can't boot into the OS and flash the RUU to get it back to stock either
I just need a working phone, not bothered whether it is a custom ROM or stock
Any advise is greatly appreciated

You need to flash boot.img through fastboot, not adb.
Go to fastboot, and type fastboot flash boot boot.img

Try the boot.img thing from your computer. Get the ROM zip, unzip it, find the boot.img file, connect your phone on fastboot, and fastboot flash boot.img. sashank has a more detailed guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31211732.
Oh, but first, reboot while holding power and volume-down. Tell me what it says.

[Q] Stuck At HTC Logo

Hi there,
I have a problem that I cannot solve. I wanted to update my ROM to a custom one.
The steps that I did before my phone stuck at HTC logo:
1. EasyUnlockTool
Updated HBOOT
And UNLOCKED
2. EasyAceRootTool
which didn't help
but I got CWM touch
3. I have uploaded Android Revolution HD 6.6 to sdcard
4. Installed from CWM from .zip
5. Followed Android Revolution HD installer
6. After reboot I only see HTC logo
Factory reset/Wipe Data/Wipe Cache seem to have to effect on the situation.
I tried to return to stock using:

How can I make my phone work again?
These are the key points you need to do.
Unlock the bootloader, (your bootloader is relocked)!
boot into recovery,
full wipe phone,
flash New Rom,
manual flash boot.img (inside flashed Rom) via fastboot and fastboot.exe on pc using command
Fastboot flash boot boot.img

Do you know why it happened that way?
Your bootloader was relocked preventing you from changing most system things.
P.s. with unlocked bootloader and no s-off you need to manual flash the boot.img every time you change Rom.

[Q] desire z problems(unlocked, but somehow still s-on, no working rom)

This is my first time trying to get a custom rom working so bear with me.
situation:
rooted = yes , unlocked = yes , S-ON!
clockworkmod working, but cant get any rom installed. (no custon , no stock)
no rom on phone atm.
fastboot or hboot dosent let me install anything. (cant write to boot partition)
i have a micro sd reader so i can put roms on sd, but cant seem to get any installed.
now i dont know how to get s-off without having a working rom on my phone.
info:
vision pvt ship s-on
hboot-0.85.0015
clockworkmod recovery v5.8.1.0
Ill try to explain how i got here.
So firstly I relised that I had to unlock my phone and to do that i had to downgrade it first to get it to a correct version.
I used this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178912
Everything went well but the desire z PC10IMG.zip: links didnt work so i found somewhere a working one.
Got the phone unlocked via htcdev.com
Then i got cocky.
I got a custom rom and downloaded it and put it on my sd.
Went to clockworkmod and tried to install it.
It didnt work, cause only THEN i realised that i had s-on still somehow. (i may have used 2 or 3 different guides at the same time cause some were old and links broken)

Then your not flashing the kernel correctly. Being your still s-on you need to flash ROM via recovery than kernel via fastboot
So pick out any custom ROM you want and put it on SD
Now boot to recovery and wipe all then flash it
Now boot to bootloader to flash kernel
This is extracted from that ROM you flashed its the boot.img
Now in fastboot mode you need to type in cmd/terminal
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Now
fastboot reboot
Now you'll be in custom ROM and then you can go through the process of obtaining s-off which I highly recommend
If any of this troubles you let me know, but be sure to give full input/output from terminal here if something fails
Happy flashing!

No problem, please read through this

To learn the ins and outs of your phone, and seriously consider s-off now so you won't have to **** around with fastboot flashing kernels each time you want a new ROM
To gain s-off the proper way you will need to downgrade and then follow the wiki, lunks for all this and more in the thread above
Happy flashing!

[Q] [Help] Red triangle issue

Hi,
I tried to update my friends HTC Desire HD from 2.3.5 to 4.2.2. Let me point out that my experience with ROM flashing and rooting is limited.
Since he still had stock ROM my plan was to unlock bootloader, root the device, flash CWM and flash custom some custom ROM(same way I have done before with HTC wildfire S)
I used htcdev to unlock bootloader and that went well.
After that I tried to root using HTC Quick Root. Rooting failed with message device is missing Insecure boot.img. In order to fix this I tried to flash boot.img from fastboot using folllowing command: fastboot flash image boot.img
After this device never booted again. It starts to boot showing green HTC logo but soon goes to image of phone with red triangle and exclamation.
I have red many posts about this problem and possible solutions but non of it worked for me.
As I understand it solution is to flash RUU or manually flash recovery.img but I need some help on how to proceed.
RUU install is failing with error140bootloader version error.

Any help is appreciated.
Red triangle means that u dont have custom recovery installed. Just download the recovery.img from cwm website, boot the device into fastboot, and flash recovery using command fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Then, reboot to bootloader and select recovery. The red triangle should be replaced by cwm recovery at this point. So u can flash whatever rom u want. Just do not forget to flash boot.img of the rom everytime u flash new rom.
