Camera icons autorotate, problem or not? - HTC One X

Hello!
Can somebody confirm that icons (for settings etc ) in stock camera, even with autorotate is on, are always in landscape mode if you turn on camera when holding phone in "portrait" mode! They would autorotate if you lean your phone in landscape (only to the left) and than back to portrait!
Stock JB, without modification before and after, factory reset before and after upgrade to JB!
Thanks in advance!

I don't quite understand the question, because the way I see it I can't believe you've asked.
If you hold you phone (whilst in camera) landscape, then the buttons are going to rotate to landscape.
If you hold you phone in portrait, then the buttons are going to be orientated for portrait.
Otherwise your buttons are going to be the wrong way when you rotate?

No, if i use my phone i portrait position, and if i go into camera my icon are oriented like in landscape mod, by 45 degrese, to enable autorotate for icons i nead to lean phone to landscape (only to left) , and than portrait mode orientation for icons is good!

Portrait to Landscape

Hi all,
Is there an easy and free way or shortcut to change portrait mode to landscape mode or landscape mode to portrait mode on wm2003se? I hate to go to today, settings, screen to do that. Thnx all.
You could bind one of your buttons to <Screen Rotate> to do the trick. Hope this helps.
Thanks my friend, that works.
No problem. Happy to help.
just an observation,
there is an option to set screen rotate at the end of buttons setting,
where is it and how to use it?

Disable fresh 270 deg rotation?

I have been trying to find a way to disable the 270 deg rotation in fresh.. is that considered rosie rotation?

lol. no. rosie rotation is to enable a landscape mode for rosie. the 270 rotation is believe is worked into the regular rotation toggle in android. to my understanding it is a 270 rotation or no rotation option only.
yes, you can just turn off rotation in the settings, but you cant go back to 180, idk why you would want to anyway.

Because some of us prefer 170 rotation, like when i'm laying on the bed and i want it portrait i just roll on my right side. I actually switched roms because of this.
Same. I HATE 270 rotation, main reason im avoiding fresh.
This really should be an option for the next

Main problem is MMS.. Sometimes i recieve images that have been taken rotated clockwise.. So when i rotate the phone clockwise to right-side-up the image, it just rotates the image to bottom.. So i have to turn the phone upside down to actually see what the image is... Techincally it is the same thing if the camera was rotated counter-clockwise, but i can deal with it in 1 direction.. it is annoying when i have to deal with it in 2 directions...
I agree, the 270 degree rotation is less than optimal for my use. The annoying part for me is when I'm carring the phone in my hand in portrait mode, perpendicular to the ground, and as I set it down it auto rotates because I did not place it down perfectly straight, and thinks I'm trying to rotate.
Would love the option to set it standard.
is there any way to get this option in another rom, I want the 270 rotation. And would there be any way for a 360 degree rotation, which seems like it would be ridiculous, but sometimes is quite useful.

Hola, any update, news or further infos? I´ve achieved to rotate my Sense simply by using some registry tweaks, but since our manila is not "landscape ported", I could only have it rotate (all tabs) the first time after enabeling sense, then when rotating back to portrait and then again to landscape, my screen always turns black... I can reproduce this everytime I want, but I would like to help/have it fully enabled

possible idea about delaying screen burn-in for the softkey?

I'm currently using cm9 nightly build and everything works pretty well.
I know that in AOKP we can change the on-screen navibar's colour, size etc and I think it is a great feature. However I just figure out an alternative way to further delay the screen burn-in, sorry I'm a noob i don't know jack about coding...
Is it possible that, in each time, when you turn on your screen, your navibar's keys colour will change randomly. For example, when you turn on your screen, the keys are yellow, you turn off your screen and turn on it again, this time the keys are red etc.
With AOPK, you can disable the Nav Bar and change transparency. Enabling 180* rotation the Nav Bar follows. You can enable Nav Bar options in the Power Menu as well, but that's not exactly convenience.
There is also this gesture app LMT, but I don't use it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150
I just hide the top and bottom bar each day with aokp, browse the web with total full screen, and my burn in is gone. Just need to exercise those pixels is all.
The power button menu has a show/hide nav button shortcut, so easy to do.
How long would it take for burn in? Back on my Samsung Vibrant, never had that issue, and it was Super Amoled.
I don't do any fancy things like you guys do. I just rotate my phone from portrait to landscape to where the nav bar is next to the front cam. I do this every time i'm on landscape. That way all the pixels get used/exercised. I don't suffer from any burn in had my phone since Feb.

portrait mode by default

Hey,
There's any way we can have the camera in portrait by default? I mean it takes 2 pictures anyway so if we want the one without portrait we just need to swipe left... This because a lot of the times I forget to put the portrait mode on.
So anyone knows if there's any chance to have portrait mode as default in camera? Just jump in it with double power button and take a fast picture and it will be in portrait.
Cheers
Not that I know of. If anything, it would be nice if it was a quick tap away like flash and HDR options. Personally, I wouldn't want it as default because it crops a lot.

If you use Tasker with the plugin "AutoInput", you can get it to tap on the menu button to reveal the sidebar and then tap the portrait mode option.
I know, not the "cleanest" way of doing things but it's still less tapping/work for you!
