I'm a noob to galaxy nexus since I just got the phone.
I have unlocked, rooted stock 4.0.2 on the phone.
I also installed cwm recovery and the question is can I install any rom that has 4.0.4 from cwm or do I need to do something else before installing the rom?
You're fine, flash away.
You have all you need.
Just make sure to wipe / factory reset from CWM before flashing the ROM

I thank you for the answers. One more question if don't mind.
if I upgrade to stock 4.0.4, how can I downgrade back to 4.0.2?
Also always do a back up in case you mess something up

You can just flash any stock rom just like any other rom. Not sure why you'd go backwards though, 4.0.4 is much better with fixed bugs and smoother etc.

I have the Galaxy Nexus from verizon model IMM76K unlocked and rooted and I'm looking for the the Stock Jelly Bean Rom if it's out there. I don't want a custom rom yet I want to try the stock JB before I flash a custom rom but I cannot find it anywhere and who knows when it will be ota. Can anybody direct me? Thanks for all your help
I don't think there is a toro factory image for Verizon gnex yet. Best you could probably do is look around over here for alternatives...

strumcat is right, there is no stock JB available for toro yet. And no one knows when it will be released.
Yea I was thinking there probably wasn't if I haven't found it yet I've searched everywhere oh well I appreciate the help I flashed a JB ROM for now one that is close to stock until they send the ota update, I just want a stock ROM that I can tweak myself since it don't have much bloatware anyway

You should be fine. You will probably just be updated by it, or not even notified at all for that matter.

I recently got a new Galaxy S2 Epic 4G touch from Virgin Mobile (Build D710.GB28), and it comes with stock android 4.1.2. And since I had been using 4.2.2 in my nexus device I dont really like the 4.1.2 look. So now I want to flash 4.2.2 in my S2. But the problem is I couldn't find any post specific to my build. There r other instructions but those are for previous build and most of those instructions seems to have centered around ICS as their stock android. So is there any post that has instructions specific to my build. Has any one flash 4.2.2 on 4.1.2 in a Virgin mobile S2. Or should I just double flash, 1st ICS and then 4.2.2.
Please Help!!!!!
Thank You
Our phone comes with android 4.1.2 not 4.2. Go to original development and try out cyanagenomod 4.2.2. Make sure your rooted, have a recovery installed and then flash rom, gapps, and a ICS modem. (Get f15 zip file for modem)

Flash the ICS modem. It will work on stock JB as well. Then flash your rom of choice.
I use CM10.1 on a Virgin Mobile S2 as well.
