My favorite ROM everrrr on gingerbread was calkulins. On 4.0.4 TW, none! They all were pathetic IMO due to samsung bugs. so that means that on 4.0.4, I stuck around to CM9 nightlies.
Best rom thus far - [ROM] CyanogenMod 10.1 - WILD FOR THE NIGHT - Mar. 8, 2013 v2
But just as previously posted I'm a Rom hopper. This Rom is just the one I settled on.

In my humble opinion (since you are asking for them), Juggernaut 5. Which the download link doesn't work anymore. After several months of use it never slowed down or caused any problems that I can remember.

Try every other rom if you're looking for a good combination of battery life, speed, or whatever else you may want from your phone. But, in terms of stability and stability alone, I'd most likely suggest any TW 4.03 roms in the android development forums (notably Darkside.evolution v8 if you can find a link). All of which are known to be incredibly stable
I've tried quite a few now, Honestly I like the basic vanilla roms... Ran CM9 for a few months and now Im running AOKP 6. Found them both extremely stable and simple. Prefer AOKP to be honest
Aocp ics. And aocp jellybean on the way folks. Check this out if u haven't heard about aocp yet.

I've been like that for a good while. I have tested everything. Even unreleased one
I spent about 9 hours getting it built. The epic is a real pain with build errors. But I have my machine setup. Errors gone. I'm running it. Now. The ics. Version. If it pases my inspection. I will upload to our server and post a thread in development. Hopefully to marrow. Or Thursday.......once I have the ice version posted I will compile the jellybean version. I may sneak the early version to one tester. I haven't decided yet. But it is coming. And it is full of collective goodness. Like updates and other goodies ...via built in ota update app.

Just like the title says, it can be a gb/ics/jb rom, doesn't matter.
What's the rom that keeps you running back?
What's been the most reliable/fastest rom?
For me personally I have to say CM10 because I love JB. Coming in at a close second would be the Blu Kuban.
Aaaaand go....
I really liked Codename JB rom but the battery life wasn't good enough for everyday use. I know I will be back on that rom soon. In the meantime I have been on a vanilla aosp ICS rom for the past few weeks. Longest I have been on anything.

I have got be honest. I like every rom I have tried. 3 by ktempleton. Chameleon Os is very nice. My favorite in terms of ui. Gorgeous. But that was also the problem. Ui crashed a lot. Hopefully it gets stable. Dirty unicorns was great but the ui started crashing repeatedly.
Using liquid smooth now. It's very nice. What it has on the other 2 is that it's running stable. I think I would be on Chameleon though if it were stable.
PACman. Even better now with the make it dark toggle and toggleable slim gapps...no more looking for an inverted play store only to have it auto update and go back to white.
Running great with lightning zap kernel and modded comadose tweaks. I did have to push the zap tweaks back top init.d again tho
