Is three kernels really enough? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Is this thread really needed?

Its time for you to build a kernel.

As this thread will undoubtedly go down hill as it already seems to be, I will be closing it. OP, it's not as easy as you may think.
Let's all be grateful with what we do have and with what our developers and already given us.

This is in the wrong section. Also, your phone is different from others. What works for me may not work for you. Why not just drop each step 5 or 25, and see of there's problems. If not problems arise, keep going.

No, you obviously don't know how the sections work. You asked a question...there's clearly a Q and A section! I also DID in fact answer your question.

Well he's right. From my experience, every phone handles different voltages even at the same clocks. You have to play with it and see what works for you. Drop them all by 25, play with it for a while, and if you don't get any lockups or reboots, drop it 25 more. Keep playing with it until you find the lowest you can go for each voltage.

Since all major carriOrson have this phone and sprint seems to be the smallest...

Is the sprint boards the best place to creep? Seems like all the boards could be converged.

Not true. I've done it several times and obviously still have a working phone. Flashing roms from the i9300 will definitely brick your phone though. I don't recommend doing it (even though I have) because of the risk but I'm fully aware and cautious. Flashing radios meant for another device is a definite no no

True true...but still think having 3 separate boards needs to be looked at again. Maybe the different carriers could have their own subsection for Roms and what not.

They tried that already. It became a MECCA for "my carrier is better than yours" flame wars.

That and the massive levels of requests for devs to port roms and then they get flamed for not wanting to support 4 different rom threads.

Haha I wondered why they nixed that.
I liked the idea of combining them all. But seperatimg development. Would have a lot less of the same stupid question being asked 1000 times a week I bet.
And ya nothing wrong with flashing another us sgs3 rom just no modems. Kinda like running tmo ROMs n having the fukd up screen rotation lol

The screen rotation is fixed by flashing a cm10 based kernel after you've flashed the ROM and gapps and let it boot

What's wrong with a debate?

What is this place ? I made a thread asking a question and it got locked because 4 posters disagreed with my point of view? Should people only make threads at all agree on ?

And this one will be reported too. Stop making pointless threads. This isn't Facebook...
Pointless ? Who cares if you want to report it ?
We have 20 roms to choose from and only three kernels. .. What's so pointless about asking why ? If you don't like a thread move on. . But the discussion shouldn't be shut down. . But it's a tech community.

+1.
And his thread that got closed sounded more like a complaint about the lack of kernels rather than a contributing discussion.
To OP, kernels are harder to build than roms, it's not surprising that you'll see less kernels than roms. To be honest, there are great kernels out there for this device already, like saber, persus.
If you really think that we need another kernel, then feel free to build another one. I would be excited to see what you can build.

They're all amazing & each dev is super talented so you prob already know you're gonna get a million different responses on this lol. I personally prefer MOAR, but it really just depends on what you're looking for :good:

Mostly because of how much you can customize. Lots of themes and mods included. My battery life has also been amazing with the stock kernel.
I think comparison threads are not allowed.... :/ all of the ROMs are good...

Is anyone working on 4.3 build???

Developers,
Out of the kindness of your heart, could one of you tell us (your users) that someone is cooking up a 4.3 Build? In advance, GRACIAS!!!
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
There is already a couple available in the development section. Unless you're talking about a tw version, which if that's the case we got a good wait ahead of us.

This is xda, of course there will be a 4.3 ROM. Oh and you should be careful, the question sounded like it was ETA related.
It's easier to click "thanks" than type it.

Well now theres a solid base, not a leak of 4.3. So Ill take any stable AOSP build any day and wait for a TW build. I just dont see much excitement or activity on our device compared to other devices.

Its not an ETA question unless, the words ETA are mentioned or you write things starting with the word 'WHEN'. My question was just for a mere confirmation of such a development of a 4.3 custom build for our Tmo GS4.
