Just an idea... have someone call it? That will in turn wake it up for you to use it, and up the standby screen time.
Why not taking the battery out, then in, then power up. IIRC, the phone won't shut off if it has just booted unless it times out.
There is an app called slide2wake

My power button and mic both quit working this morning. I have had the phone about two weeks. I'm just pulling the battery and using volume rockers to wake up at this point.
Restoring old backup ROM, but I don't think it has anything to do with it since the button does not work in CWM either.
Uhggg
Charge it? Mine cuts on when I charge it.

I am not a smart man.
What 'bout with a charger? Like the previous gentleman said?
disassemble the phone [it's really not hard, just some Phillips screws and then pry the screen part out]. depending on how badly you broke the power button you can either just push on the underlying membrane or short the contacts using a wire.

The last few months on my gnex I started having to take the battery out and put back in to power on.. (about 50% of the time) If I do this it will power on but if I don't it wont.. Anyone know what this could be? Is it the power button? Seems like if it was it wouldn't power on at all?

Hi... In Samsung smartphones, when you press home button, it turn on the screen, right? ...okay.. But now, I wanna change that function to play music when I press the home button and pause when I press it again(with screen off) . I've been searching in Google & this forum, but can't find any method or solution . Does anyone has any idea for this? Thanks in advance...
Additional info ::: I have xposed framework installed and can skip music with volume key long press ( with screen off).. I just wanna have similar function with home key to play/pause music

Or you can download a rom that has a various music control itmes for volume buttons.
Like play and pause. Stop. Next. Previous. Etc etc..
Check out DroidTurK ROM x)
It has that music controls
Thanks... But I don't wanna download a new rom now as I have some difficulties.. May be I'll try it later, the rom is also 250 dpi mode and will have a small icons I guess.. Anyway, thanks..

Double tapping to play/pause music like in ipad is also OK.. Then it would be so amazing to have a "music life"

Yeah... I bought galaxy note 2 because I wanna see text and icon bigger. So 250 dpi make no sense for me.. Personal taste

There are apps that use the proximity sensor to control music controls or even unlock the phone from one. Type on proximity or something and they should pop up, I know this is not what you are looking for but could be an option for now

There are some mods which let you reprogram your home button. You should check out Xposed framework. Also, you could go for a virtual bar which emulates home, menu and back button. There is a very nice app which is called something like "dynamic app bar" in the play store. Maybe you could use that app to create a special button for music controls.

There is a module called "hold home" but it didn't replace long press home button, instead it replace double press home button s voice to Google voice.. Btw, play store don't show dynamic app bar.. Is name exactly like that? Thanks..
