My god. This recent daylight savings time change has been a royal pain and I'd love a fix.
I use s planner and sync to Google calendar. I also add my wife to any calendar events so she knows my schedule.
Since the recent time change my calendar events are off... an hour too early, an hour too late or spot on. Her events have different times from mine and the Google calendar website is off to.
If I create a new event in splanner, I get Eastern Time GMT -4, Eastern Standard Time GMT -5 and Eastern Daylight time GMT - 4... which do I choose to get it to play nice with Google calendar?

I've had a similar issue in the past, for me it was caused by the phone receiving wrong time and date info from the carrier, or rather doubling daylight savings so that it got one hour too far ahead. This extra hour would then sync across my accounts for some reason. Try to untick the option of letting time and date automatically adjust from network.

I tried that, but it looks like things resolved themselves overnight EXCEPT for creating an event in s planner using EST, then it's an hour ahead.
Now I'm going to make it a habit of writing the actual time for the event in the event description so I can make sure the time being displayed is correct. It's an inconvenience, but so is missing an appointment. :banghead:

yesterday is the end of british summer time, and all my appointments in calendar is -1 hour offset.
anyone know how to fix it? and how to set the calendar NOT to auto-change with respective to timezone?
many thanks
update;
I forgot to mention that these are pc-sync entries but both the pc and phone are in the same timezone.
noticed that this only happens to recurrent entries, which started before the time change and end after the daylight change...
example;
pc entry: recurrent friday 10am from 01/09/2010 tp 01/12/2010
after sync, the entries in phone:
friday 10am from 01/09/2010 - 31/10/2010
friday 9am from 01/11/2010 - 01/12/2010
same problem here.
is there any app to fix that?
anyone?
can't believe that there is such major bug in this phone! it should be business smart phone, but lacks simple timezone and daylight saving functionality!
I have seen the following problems in the last few days (running rooted stock EC05):
-alarm reminders for the calendar go off hours late
-adjustments to the phone calendar or computer one don't sync
I have checked sync and time zone settings on both and can't figure out what's wrong. And yes, all the events seem to be stored on the google account, not the stupid offline phone calendar, by default (fixed in Froyo ROMs supposedly). Suggestions are appreciated.
Is anyone experiencing alarms not going off? This just happened again with one I set for 15 mins beforehand. I wonder if it'll ring much later...
I seem to be having issues with my exchange calendar syncing. I have just started to fiddle around to see if I can figure out what is going on. Do you have any update? I am on the most current srf, even though my sig may say otherwise at the moment.

so i'm hoping that someone might have an explanation beyond "facebook's app is borked"
I live in EST currently. There are no settings within facebook (that I can see, either in the app or on the site). Within Google Calendar, I have my timezone set for (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time.
The problem arises with the calendar application on Android. My Date/Time settings are set to use Network provided values (and they're accurate).
If I goto an event within the facebook app, a start time will properly show as 16:30, (as reciprocated on the website), however within the calendar application on my phone, it shows the start time incorrectly as 17:30 (1 hour ahead).
I originally thought this was a facebook only problem, until I found out that the facebook app is correct, just the android calendar is incorrect.
Just today, I tried adding an event to my calendar and discovered something else, when adding the event to my calendar, under the "Time Zone" option, it lists "(GMT-4:00) Eastern Time" which seemed odd, since Eastern Time is GMT-5, upon clicking the show all, it shows GMT-5:00 Central Time, GMT-5:00 Mexico City, & GMT-5:00 Bogota, which are also incorrect (and also appear to agree with the android calendar being +hour off.
Does anyone know how to fix it so that events are showing up in the right time? (time zone) ?
wow. it's called daylight savings time. click the button. issue resolved. not a bug.
I stand corrected. lol. It's a bug. hmmmmm, interesting. That means we get an update! yay! they will be required to give us an upgrade soon. EVERYONE START CALLING SPRINT AND HTC! LOL! TIME for them to send an update an unlock our phones at the same time!
Looks like you can fix this issue by manually setting your time and selecting the right timezone.*well, the right -number* The timezone for eastern IS COMPLETELY wrong! hahahhaha. But really. this needs to be sent to HTC and Sprint.
yea, there isn't any option to unset daylight savings time. and if the phone is trying to be smart, since manually setting the time zone EST reads as "GMT-04:00, Eastern Daylight Time", then it's incorrectly not reading the dates from the facebook calendar (synchronized via Accounts) correctly.
So some clarification. I experimented with wife's Nexus S and she didn't have the option of showing the facebook calendar. Apparently the option of showing the facebook calendar within the HTC calendar is done through the "Facebook for HTC", not the facebook app itself.
So given that it's a facebook for sense issue, any hope for a fix?

So does anyone else have an issue with Facebook for HTC sense or is it just me?

It's an HTC issue. if we report it enough. they'll fix it.
Hello everyone,
Recently I have started having issues with my calendar events in S planner, I am pretty sure that this issue has started with the latest firmware update. Anyways, I have set a rule in my work outlook to forward all emails to my Microsoft exchange email account that I have in my note 2, so when someone sends me a meeting invitation to my work email, it comes to my phone as an attachment (.ics) and I simply click on that and import it to my phone's s planner. This has been working great for a while until recently, once I open the .ics file I would notice that the timing of the event is 4 hours behind (I live in Ohio so the time zone is Easter time) but if I import that event to the phone, then edit it, and go to the time zone and change it from (GMT+0:00) to Eastern time, the time of the event shows correctly. Keep in mind that I have all of the Time Zones at Eastern time and I am locking my event to the same time zone too (in S planner). so somewhere the event's time zone changes to GMT+0:00 and as I mentioned before, only after updating to the latest firmware. setting the time and date as well as the time zone to auto or manual does not make the problem go away, the only thing that will correct this issue, is by setting the time zone to a different time zone than where I am (to GMT +0:00) and set the clock manually. I also noticed that if I forwarded the same email to my Google account and import the same .ics from there, the timing of the event would be correct.
thanks for any input
Am I the only one with this issue?
thanks for any feedback
You're not the only one
I'm in Amsterdam (which according to S-planer is GMT +2; funny, I always thought it was +1) and there's a red line showing the time indeed
+2 (no worry, setting the time zone differently in the settings section does not help at all). I think its a bug...thought it was a bug, until I found
that the time zone in the settings of the machine were off (at GMT+0) and then the settings of the clock jumped two hours. Easily fixed for
me. I hope you have a comparable problem.
I have the same problem. I have all theelvcorrect time settings in place. This definitely an issue with s planner as the time appears correctly in the summary view of the event when in month view, but is behind by 6 hours when you open the event
So I made a widget that will display a Calendar with the day and date of the next event by using Google's inbuilt calendar. If it's a multiple day event it will display the current day the event is on until it passes. Once the day passes and it's on the next day, the calendar will update to the next event. I have however noticed a weird glitch that had to be resolved with the third line of code where the event will say end on a Tuesday, the day will be Wednesday, and the passed event will still be the current one.
$#DD#<=#C0SD#?#C0SE#$
$#DD#>#C0SD#&&#DD#<#C0ED#?#DE#$
$#DD#>=#C0ED#&&#C0SD#!=#C0ED#?#C1SE#$
- $#C0SD#=?No Event -$
[sr=0.75]
$#DD#>=#C0SD#&
&#DD#<=#C0ED#?Today$
$#C0SD#=(#DD#+1)?Tomorrow$
$#C0SD#>(#DD#+1)?#C0SMMM d#$[/sr]

My question is with New Years coming around, my event for next year isn't showing because DD is greater than C0SD but I am getting somewhat confused as to how to implement the coding correctly in order to show the next event details fully.
(Also, note that the code is usually on one line, I've placed it on multiple lines for ease of reading.)
Any help would be awesome.

In regards to events in the new year not showing, I recommend dropping the D parameter and use yMMdd (#DyyMMdd#, #C0SyMMdd#, etc.). You need to specify MM and dd because you need both the month and day of the month to always be double digits with any leading zeros in order for the math that you're doing to work out.
Awesome, thanks for the help. I tried the previous suggestions that you made and they worked alright, but I'll have to look at the MM suggestion that you made.
Again, thank you for the help.
