What is your favorite/preferred calendar app for keeping track of events/appointments/meetings etc. that will also appear in Google Now? For example I have a job interview at 10am on Tuesday and I know the exact address.... I wanna be able to set up an appointment on my calender and have it show up in Google Now. Thanks for all inputs!

I've been enjoying using Digical+. It is a paid app though.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digibites.calendarplus&hl=en
I know it syncs with the Google Calendar, but nearly every calendar app does that. So once you create an event, it syncs it back up to Google Cal, then in turn will work with Google Now. I don't create appointments all that often so I can't speak how well it works 100% of the time, but I have created a couple and it worked fine.
Best bet though as BHurst mentioned, stock calendar will work the best I'd imagine.

The incoherent design of ICS -especially between the contact- and sms-ui and the rest of ICS- is one reason that hesitates me to buy the galaxy nexus. Hm as my previous speaker already mentioned: ICS is just one month out. Im confident that with the next major update the problem will be solved itself. Until then you can use gosms with ICS theme from the market.

So I tried looking for a solution and so far havent found anything
I like stock touchwiz (so far) mostly because of the Motion options Samsung introduced (AOKP and CM9 have yet to implement these)
I really liked the stock messaging app from ICS (coming from a Galaxy Nexus) and was wondering if there is a way of getting it on the S3
I tried pushing the stock "mms.apk" to the /system/app folder but it keep saying there is a conflict and cannot install (installing the stock gallery.apk worked though)
The S3 messaging app is called "Secmms.apk" , but even if i rename that and try installing the stock mms.apk it just said the install failed
Does anyone have any clue on how to install the stock ICS messaging app?
Thanks in advance!

can someone post the ics msg app screenshot...? i want to try it too...
Contacts is part of the dialler so you'll get into a mess if you try to change that, I did. I also changed the keyboard by putting in the latinIME.apk and then switching to it as the default input method. I find the stock keyboard quite unreliable.
If you use the CM gallery, as already posted, you can set the background screen image to be scrollable at the right resolution.

thanks for tweeting suroot!
I'm referring to the big circle with the sms icon that appears on the right center of the lockscreen that we used to get then a new sms arrives - then we drag it from the left to the right to open the sms application, that way we don't have to sacrifice one of the 4 shortcut slots for sms app
that's the one I was referring to, and it's gone now!

Thanks for that but I am having trouble replacing the Email (Exchange) app from my stock rooted S3.
Do you have to have a deoxed ROM to replace the Email app for the stock one?
I cannot replace email.apk as there is simply none in the ROM, only an Exchange.apk
Hi all,
I'm looking for a dialer apo to replace the stock dialer, since the Samsung stock one doesn't even have a proper T9 dialing option.
I have tried ExDialer, and it's really good but it doesn't show Facebook profile pics in the dialer.
Does anyone know of any better dialer apps that are fast and functional?
Thanks.

They're there in the contacts and even in the stock dialer but they simply don't show up in any of these custom apps! Other pics like google pics etc show up though....

Its just like another fb or whatsapp account. It also syncs high res images which is nice and in the options you can choose to have htc style notes on your google account contacts so that when you do a full wipe and re sync it remembers the linked contacts.

ex dialer
I have used almost all the available dialers and to date found the Ex dialer to be the most user friedly one with good themes as well. Its a matter of personal preference too. For someone like me the main thing is not to have to stretch my thumb to the top of the screen to press buttons specially in S3 which is bigger. All the relevent common buttons are in the lower field. Even the search button of the contacts in ex. Go dialer is also very good but for me cannot beat the Ex dialer.
If helpful ...press thanks

Thanks for the explanation. Since it's a paid app, I just wanted to confirm.
So this app syncs phone numbers and other details too? After installing this can I completely disable the normal Facebook sync app?

I don't think it syncs contact numbers. Only pictures. For me, thats what was important as I have telephone numbers on my Google contact list for most of my fb contacts. And it syncs status updates as well. So if you click on a contacts update in hax sync it takes you directly to the contacts page on the facebook app in your phone. I have disabled contact sync on my fb phone app.

I may be mistaken, but I believe those are contacts that have been starred. Try viewing a contact, tap the star on the top right and see if it provides what you'd like. Please share if this is what you were looking for.

Not sure I know exactly what you are asking after reading other replies.... But if you want to change the dpi that's done in the ROM settings or system settings under UI.

Well the obvious solution would be to favorite all of your contacts, but that's far from ideal.
As for a legitimate solution, I am not aware of one as of now. I'll share if I come across one.

Any version of android with another ui(sense or touchwiz) has it's own framework so some apps are integrated with other apps. Without the framework though, the app is missing integral files that it needs to be able to reference to function.
Which I think is dumb because I'd really like to see the TW music and sms apps work on non-Tw toms.
