How to unroot HTC One X on hboot 1.36? - HTC One X

Hello,
I am thinking of selling my phone and wondering if I can unroot it. I am on hboot 1.36.
Thanks in return
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium

Yeah, put your stock backup back on the phone the one you made before you rooted it.
Or look on YouTube for how to unroot HTC one x

I don't have a backup as I bought it rooted but could I use a ruu?
Thanks in advance
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium

Maybe ....or a "new" nandroid backup. I can't recall what files to remove exactly to loose the root.
At least remove the su app and you have to delete some entry's in the rom.
Fastboot getvar version-main
Maybe there is a ruu

Will this work
I found this on the internet, would this work?
http://androidfiles.org/ruu/securek...2.17.401.2_release_298985n1wwcwzs385c0bvz.zip
My cid is HTC_001
And it is
3.14.401.27
Will this work?
Thanks in advance

And

Update: I have just found a nandroid backup for my phone.
What do I do now ?
>Flash it
>Relock phone
>Flash stock recovery
Is there anything else to unroot ?
Thanks in advance

Nandroid :
Flash the boot.img
Perform a full wipe in recovery
Restore the nandroid
Flash back the stock 3.14 recovery
Relock the bootloader
That's as stock as you can get. You can also update to 3.14.401.31 and then to the latest base 3.18.401.1
RUU :
use this one
http://androidfiles.org/ruu/securek...Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed.exe
The one you got is the ota. Can't flash it like that.
Charge the phone, relock the bootloader and run the ruu with admin rights.
Then you are also as stock as you can be

Thanks for the help!

Updating with ruu

Quick question
can I update using a ruu over a custom rom or do I need to flash my stock nandroid before using the ruu?
Thanks in advance
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Yes.. you can run the RUU on top of a custom rom, no need to nandroid restore your old stock backup. Most important is the stock recovery been flashed and bootloader re-locked before you run the RUU.
And I normally also flash a stock boot.img first. (some people say no need to do this, but it is no harm doing it).
Cheers for that

[VODAP001] - How to upgrade from ARHD 9.7 to 17.1

Can someone guide me how to upgrade from 9.7 to 17.1?

I see the JB flasher tool doesn't support VODA cids yet.

Is there an updated hboot for it? Because if JB hasn't been released, there isn't, and you can't.

orange did not release update for htc one x and on the internet its "quiet"
make nandroid backup
lock bootloader
update your bootloader(1.36) manually your firmware(bootloader) should be here
re-Unlock bootloader with the same unlock_code.bin you used to unlock in the first place
then install the rom and dont forget to flash the boot.img

I have my original Nandroid of Vodafone image when I unlocked bootloader: so it seems my easiest method without screwing anything up is using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859714
I am not as brave on this HTC One X as my old Desire HD was alot easier.
Thanks Vcek!
Your welcome, Yes if you have a nandroid backup its the easiest method to return.
Don't have to worry about One X, as long as your bootloader is unlocked(warranty void), its almost impossible to brick the One X, as long as its S-ON ;D
BUT REMEMBER, you must install the stock recovery to install the JB OTA.
You come to my next question! Stock Recovery. How can I check this?
I guess running this command ? fastboot getvar version-main

Download the Ruu mentioned above (dont forget to thank EddyOS) and once youve downloaded it, relock your bootloader. Once youve done that all you have to do is plug your phone into your pc and run the Ruu and it will make your phone stock Vodafone 2.17. Wont matter if your custom recovery or rooted, only needs locked bootloader.
Dont bother setting your phone back up once your up and running again, just check for ota update on the phone, there should be a small update. Do the update and restart the phone. Recheck for ota update and JB should be there. Voila! If it was me id factory reset as it always seems to be less bug free to me with ota updates.
If you want to make it a bit easier there is an all in one flasher that can lock, unlock bootloader, root, flash recovery.
Word of warning though. A few have had it wipe there storage (me twice) and lost all photos and music and so on, so back up first.
OK so did the above with almost 100% battery and RUU came back with battery under 30%
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
use JB flash utility.
But I think that " front camera of 9.7 is clear and better than 17.1" ^_^ so I love ARHD.
Use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1924003
That tool doesn't support carrier brand CID's would I be better to flash my original vodafone nandroid and try again?

Are you on stock or custom ROM? Stock should have received the update by now.
If RUU is not available, search for nandroid. You could flash your current version nandroid, and then regularly update OTA.
I'm on stock but its messed up and i needed the Ruu to flash back. I have the nandroid backup but isn't the Ruu supposed to be available already?

Oke do this then :
Download here the 1.29.415 nandroid backup. Make a full wipe and restore the nandroid backup. After that you flash the 1.29 stock recovery
https://www.dropbox.com/s/i98j4bhffkzwovp/Stock recovery 1.29.img
Then start updating to 2.17 »» 3.14
Edit : you have your own nandroid, use it and update. The won't leak soon. And this way you don't have to relock the bootloader

I think j15 requires a 415.x ruu. If so, one of these might help:
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_ARA_2.17.415.2_Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_275980_signed.exe
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_ARA_1.29.415.11_Radio_1.1204.105.14_release_260742_signed.exe
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_ARA_1.28.415.9_Radio_1.1204.103.14_release_25679_signed.exe
Or browse the entire collection here

Can't extract ROM.zip

Hi all! I'm trying to put my Hox back to stock but can't extract the rom.zip
Any help greatly received
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
From where are you trying to extract the rom.zip?? What are you trying to do exactly?
If you want to go back to full stock, you can either restore a nandroid backup or run a RUU for your device...
I'm using the guide on here, it says I need to extract the ROM.zip from the ruu then flash them, relock the boot loader then run the RUU, I'm running cm10.1 at the moment.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
To run a RUU, you need to download the ruu, lock yoir bootloader and the run the ruu with admin privileges... That's it...
Which ruu are you using? What is your version-main??

I think you must restore nandroid backup.
Dowload this ruu : http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1...-r-radio-5120416229-release-302015-signedexe/
Lock your Bootloader : fastboot oem lock
Run the ruu with admin privileges.. You will be full stock once again.!

You cannot extract ROM.zip from RUU anymore
HTC encrypt them.
Why do all the guides say to extract the ROM.zip? Sorry people a little confused :-/

What is the problem here?? Just lock your bootloader and run the ruu with admin privileges. It will take you back to full stock. In some ruus you can extract, in some you can't. It's just the way it is!

im trying to explain u that. in my concept i think that a revolutionary phone and a carrier contained phone don't have same features because the revolutionary phone is build for developing purpose and a carrier contained phone is build for normal use.
few weeks ago i bought htc one x from a repairer this phone is stucked on htc logo repairer says he has chaged its power ic and make him alive. im trying to recover this phone by unlocking its bootloader and flash a cwm recovery and try to restore beckup but md5 does'nt match and also try to flash hboot by command line but noting works and i tried to download ASIA TW RUU JB.EXE after 90% firefox/ iexplorer can not be able to download ruu from android ruu.
sorry 4 my poor grammer

PLEASE, someone UPLOAD nandroid 4.18.206.4 branded for O2

Finally, the update for 4.2.2 for branded O2 CID_001 is out, but after so many tries to install the OTA update unsuccessfully, I gave up because it was impossible to install without an official RUU 3.14.206.X. So someone who successfully updated HOX for O2 PLEASE make a backup nandroid, and upload it here.
(And YES I reverted my HOX to stock, got the update online but during flashing in bootloader got red triangle )
In that case the nandroid is not full stock !.
Did you try the whole process with the 2.17.206 backup ?
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No i've tried direcrly with 3.14.206 backup. I ve tried with ruu 2.x.206.x but during flashing said error not correct bootloader version. I'm on hboot 1.36 so i didnt try the 2.x.206.x backup because its ics and needs lower hboot version
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Nandroids are not really hboot related. Use a 2.17 backup and flash back the stock 2.17 recovery. Then ota to 3.14 and higher
Nandroid backups are different from ruu's. A nandroid backup doesn't touch bootloader, recovery and kernel.
If the nandroid is stock it should work just fine

No luck, still shows red triangle during flashing OTA updates
