Hey I have horrible signal with wifes s3 as well as mine. So far I tried Hyperdrive ROM and no fix. Does anyone know of a ROM to help with this issue or a tweak to install? Thanks
By the way I had signal with the S2 just fine its the S3 that is killing. Love the ohine hate the signal. T999 is TMobile S3

You're on the previous modem still, the latest ends in a "C."
Are you noticing any patterns with the connection problem? Is it only happening in certain places or when running certain apps?
I was having a similar issue but I was using the latest modem and it turned out T-Mobile pushed out the new modem before actually prepping the towers to connect to it in my work area.
Have you tried speaking to a tech rep and go over the coverage map with you?

There is no pattern it just randomly looses signal to like 1 bar and if I go inside a building it will 9/10 loose signal. It doesnt matter how big the building is. Is the modem in the dev section?

Charlie linked you to the latest modem. If you are still having problems after that you can visit Doc's thread in the dev section and experiment with the modems until you find the one with the best result for you, its stickied so you can't miss it.

Hey after a few days with the new radio all is much better. I still have some signal issues but not like before.

I'm running the lovely Jellybro ROM on my awesome GS3. I'm used to running aosp based ROMs and I do know that I can't update PRLs so I just nand my gettup and flash a tw ROM to do it. But my question is why exactly can't we do it? I heard that CM tried it before and it didn't work out? I tried searching for a specific answer and couldn't find anything...

um no not really....
i've been using CM10 sense the first build (7-18-12) and i had the latest PRL then (25003 i think) but a week ago i had 25005 and now have 25006 ( and that came out 5 days ago) i never left CM10 and it gets updated in the background as i never have to go to settings.

that is the newest! and how long have you been on AOSP
Now that one I believe I personally updated back on TW. I just switched (completely) to aosp this morning because enough of the problems were hammered out for me personally. But I'll just keep a vigilant eye and look for it to auto update in the future

I never left my house yesterday. It seemed to be worse there. I got to work today and at my desk I usually have to sit just right to keep 4G but on this new radio it hasn't dropped to edge once at my desk.

If you're talking about the modem it's already in the dev section.

Its been done for a bit now. Check dev section.
Clark also updated the Modem Flasher so if your testing for your best modem I highly recommend it!

Did a search and didn't notice anyone else with this problem. Ever since I flashed Frosty I noticed that im stuck UMTS 3 and never switch to HSPAP. Wondering if there was something I missed.
And yes I did a clean flash.
Anyone else have this issue and is there a fix?

Not sure this helps but I seem to be also stuck. I am using frosty with stock kernel and canadian variant baseband. I don't know enough about these things to even know what the difference is but its something I will investigate next couple of days to see if it does switch.

Yep set to auto. And dunno if it makes a difference but im using Branzo's winter theme.

Dunno which settings you have, but mine only has the option to change between gsm and wcdma. And on gsm I would only get 1g/gprs...

Could it be because I went from stock ICS to a stock, but rooted JB update and then straight to Frosty? My basebamd still says UVLJ4; instead of UVLJA, so I might have missed something?

Cool. I used to live in Miami. Gorgeous in the winter but so hot in the summer I had to put up the top on my convertible and run the AC just not to sweat.

Oy, here we go again.....prl's have nothing to do with your speed, it tells the device how to scan for various wireless cell systems, which ones are native, and which priority to use them in.

I live in an LTE area but unfortunately live just outside the nearest lte tower's reach. This is average 3g for my area sometimes it peaks up to 2.41mbs.

LOL No but Sprint recently upgraded the towers here and service has been far better than it ever was.

Although generally PRL updates will not help your coverage XXX13 adds several Band Class 10 (800mhz) SIDs for certain areas including Atlanta, California and Texas. These were not in any previous PRLs as they were the previous Nextel bands. Anyone in the affected areas will definitely benefit from this update.
