Why is there no separate forum for the Xperia Neo?
The news about SE unlocking the Xperia bootloader is great, and I'm eagerly awaiting the launch of the Xperia Neo here. However, I'm surprised at the absence of a forum for the Neo.
Is there any reason for that? And how easy would it be to port a custom ROM, originally written for the Arc, to the Neo? (Seeing that the Arc would be a much more popular device with people).

I think it'd be better if we got a forum for the Arc and Neo together. The only hardware difference is the display (which shouldn't matter for development etc) and the front-facing camera anyway...
Yeah I'd like a forum for Neo as well... Though, software wise the Arc and Neo are pretty much the same, but I gotta say I like the Neo more because of its smaller size and it fits better in the palm of your hand.
Wouldn't trade my Neo for an Arc... =)
I might be wrong here guys and girl's but hasn't the Neo been pushed back till closer to June?
As with the whole having to source an entire new manufacturing facility things are running tight.

Even SE don't have any Neos to hand, let alone enough to start selling them.

i really wanted a neo, but now im thinking of desire s maybe.. tho the camera sucks on it.. and the bootloader is locked, so far.

Can you use the Arc ROM on the Neo without having problems?
The original one not.
It has to be ported to the Neo.

october is almost finished and se didn't roll 2.3.4 for xperia play out here in ph.
From Sweden. No. My phone was imported from NL though.
I flashed 2.3.4 with FlashTool and then rooted. Works like a charm. Much less buggy than 2.3.3.
White play here locked to o2 uk nothin here yet still on 2.3.3
bought sim free play, using a o2 sim, got the 2.3.4 update yesterday

I have White Xperia Play locked to o2 and I Installed it this morning after getting a message about new update threw PC Companion. yet there's not much changes done to it. to be honest apart from the facebook update no extra features really

Changes I've noticed:
-Much better battery life. Standby time specially.
-Different folder icons, with previews
-Timescape stopped temp freezing for me, which it did a lot in 2.3.3
-Nice new smooth screen-off/on animation
-Finally you can turn off the auto adjustment of the screen brightness!!
-You can now take a screenshot when holding down the power button
-Supposedly the "pressing back button triggers multiple times bug" has been fixed
Overall I'm getting a much better experience with 2.3.4.
oh i see. so i see u.k then. its a million miles away here in Philippines. I bet it is following Magellan's route or maybe. It is temporarily resting in Iceland. What an update.

Spain doesn't have it yet, so you can scratch that possibility
In Mexico released the update this day, through pc companion, still no OTA update

French SIM-free version updated thru PC Companion, OTA upgrade said I was allready up-to-date... x.x
So what about the US of A?
I have my imported Canadian R800a and I'm 2.3.4-less.
I used PC Companion , I would not trust OTA.

Did they just release it in Mexico? Last night I was reading some Sony Ericsson Mexico comments on facebook and the rep was saying we'd get it on November (and I added a couple of months for the carrier bloatware).
I'd try but I don't want to loose my PSXperia games I guess I can hook it up and check for update (without really updating) just to confirm here.
Edit: it says I'm up to date on 2.3.3, we didn't even get the 4.0 update either.

Ok, I'm from Mexico and my phone is Telcel, but I put the U.S. firmware by wotanserver, maybe this is why I was able to update, now I'm on 2.3.4 with root, and still does not prove my freexperia games

Hi! im also from the Philippines and im also using Xperia play (just last week, got it from sulit.com )
anyway, there's already a 2.3.4 firmware, check out the development threads,
after that you can use DoomLord's kernel for better use and clocks.
You can just delete the removable bloatware (there's also a thread like this I think)

How come? Ion is a US exclusive and it isn't released yet
i do believe we will get xperia S soon(before march 2nd or 3rd week)............when on sony website in the home page it states xperia S to be coming soon and in product page xperia S is missing............this might be some webpage related issue
update:i spoke to sony mobile india,they said it will be available soon and before the end of Q1.... probably by the end of march 2nd week and they also mentioned xperia s product page for india will also be added soon and it will be available under phones section

I'm from pune and i spoke to the official from SONY in pune and he said it will be a bit delay to arrive in INDIA . He said will be coming in APRIL 1st week. As like you i'm very eager to buy this phone hope it comes early and we have this masterpiece right in our hands........

@sagar_ved The price of this awesome piece in india is approx. Rs.31000 not yet confirmed maybe less also.
Also to mention when i spoke to the SONY representative, he told me that they are trying to make sure we get all the accessories especially the HDMI cable which is missing in most of the unboxing videos. As like all i'm also concerned about the battery he assured that SONY is coming up with some new apps that will boost battery life i think its just a marketing skill maybe. So keep ur fingers crossed
Right now i'm just watching the videos of Xperia S on youtube the greek review on youtube is great if have time then watch it how the xperia s is blazing fast....CHEERS

She said q1 is the date given to them!!
When i asked about the pricing she said no pricing has been revealed yet!!

There is one listing in Ebay but it's too costly since they are exporting from US. It's about 39K http://www.ebay.in/itm/Sony-XPERIA-...27386?pt=IN_Mobile_Phones&hash=item1c246d4dba. If they delays to launch I might change my mind and go for One X since it's world wide release on April 5th prices would somewhat the same.

I think that the One X is going to be more expensive, maybe One S will be more in the range or a little lower than Xperia S.

And today he told me its going to come on15th march and pricing is 32000rs
But he said that its gonna come by the name nozomi
I was a bit shocked hearing this!!
Anyways guys we have a reason to celebrate for!!

nozomi is the code name for xperia s
Looks like there is an update (10.1.1.A.1.253) available here in the US for my ZL (C6506) through PC companion. Here is the changelog:
1.Enhanced user experience
2.Improved battery life
3.Software performance enhancements
Notification bar & dock color has been changed to black (from gray). That's all I have noticed so far. I'll need to see if the mediaserver battery drain issue has been fixed or not.
Update (May 17,2013) : After using the phone on the new FW for two days, I'm quite happy with the improved battery life. Mediaserver had the highest battery usage (> 40%) on my previous build. Now it's down to 5% ! Camera shots look a bit better - still there is room for improvement. Hopefully, Sony will improve it further in the future. - great job, keep it up, Sony

I would like to know what build number you were coming from and which provider as well? I have a ZL rogers (C6506) as well and i don't see any updates

My model is C6506 which is one of the two unlocked models available in the US (Other one is C6502). My build was 10.1.A.1.434 prior to the update. The update is available through PC companion (not OTA)

i have an unlocked phone, i just plugged it into the sony companion on the laptop and it prompted for an update
also they've added a mini chrome browser to the small apps list, sweet, in addition to some graphics fix ups, and im sure some other stuff
I've just plugged and nothing showed up on pc companion..it says I got the last updated firmware but it could take a couple of days to appear on every region after the official launching.

Mine did a "NFC Firmware Updating" after the initial boot as well.
This seems odd to me, why would the number be lower than the original firmware and the last firmware that was released?

I just thought id make a thread and see what is your thoughts of LG's new firmware update 10h just released yesterday.. I must say im impressed with it and the issues especially as im a UK owner and still haven't gone or touched the leaked 10j update think its great.. It seems lag free and also few minor tweaks. However, battery life has been the same if not worse.
Let me know whats everyone thoughts and opinion thanks guys..
