So I just got my note two, and boy is the screen VIBRANT. It's a sight for sore eyes when you've been dealing with a WVGA LCD display for a couple years. Now that I've said let's segue into my problem: Some MKVs aren't playing video. The weird thing is some of my anime plays fine, but soon as I start up Black Lagoon, i get that little toast notification and no video plays, just audio.
Just so you know, I've downloaded BS player and it plays the video fine, but I'd still like to know why the default video player app wouldn't play it. Plus if I could get it to play there it would be better since the popup player is fun to play around with
I also noticed that my Black Lagoon subs have two audio tracks instead of one. Could that possibly be why?

but still, i can view videos by using other apps
pls help thx
More people got this issue. I had it once, and I think I know the solution.
I had a lot of videos on my HOX. Some of them could'nt be played since I don't have the right codecs/decoders on HOX(example mkv files). Weird thing was they show up in gallery, but every video I played stoped after max 10 seconds of playing (even those that were working before).
After that I deleted the video's which can't play due missing the right codecs. After deleting them I tried again, and suddenly all movies work again.
Don't know if this is the right solution, but it worked for me. And an other work-around is to use a other media player. MX Player does a solid good job.
I have been facing this problem for a long time now. Just few minutes ago I finished watching a movie in my HOX with default media player and also mx player.it playes smoothly without any interruption. When ever any interruptions take place like msg or anything else, I pause the video to check and when I resume the video, it lags. Then I dragged the bar to the beginning of the movie and a pop up msg shows- this video cannot be played. Then It goes back again to the gallery. Then I select the movie again from gallery and then it plays smoothly from the beginning. It happens the same with mx player and vplayer.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
try diceplayer. i don't have problems like you described, i do know however that the stock player sucks and may as well not be included with the phone, and vplayer is a similar situation, used to be good, but isn't quite keeping up with the times
I am noticing this hugely dissapointing thing on my tab s.
This tab is awesome for media consumption and reading.
I traded it for my note 3 and fell in love. But i am hugely dissapointed after taking it only for one reason.
Whenever i am watching any movie or listening to music there is a stutter/lag in between, earlier i thought it was headphones which were bad but i witnessed it in speaker mode also.
anyone who's getting the same problem can you help me out with the issue.
what app do you use? i get no stutters or lags when playing music or watching movies.
I watch 1080p MKV movies/tv shows on mine with BS Player and it doesn't lag or stutter at all
No lags or stutter here either for music or video, even when using Chromecast..
sadly, if you played the music from magazine ui widget, and put tablet to sleep, music will lag
but if you open music app and push home and then put tablet to sleep, it will just play normally....
Today i was checking my 2days old pixel 2 xl.. and found something weired. Very noticable at full volume..
The speakers ( both top and bottom) plays music with crackling sound. It happens with all players.. including mx and youtube.
Seems like playing some low bitrate audio/video even when i am playing 4k hdr10 webm file ( which i downloaded to check hdr)
I thought it was due to some audio mods from xposed.. so i removed it and check again.. its still there..
Did someone have the same issue?
I can blast youtube videos or music at full blast and it sounds fine but yes, others have reported distorted audio output from the speakers on these phones.
I had my first device sent back for this reason. I haven't noticed it yet on my second one.
Ever since i've had this device, whenever I play a video (like an m3u8 stream) in a web browser (Chrome, Brave etc.), that uses the the default android web video player, as soon as the playback controls auto-fade-out, the video freezes (the audio is still playing as normal). If I touch the screen to bring the controls back, the video playback resumes again, but freezes as soon as the controls go away. If I repeatedly tap the screen, the video resumes but it's very jerky - like it's only playing the video when it detects a touch input.
Has anyone else had this? My Sony Xperia XZ Premium doesn't have any issues, and i've checked i'm running the same versions of Android System WebView and my web browsers, on both phones. It doesn't seem to matter what the quality of the video is either, it's doing it on a 576p web stream.
