[Q] HELP! player doesnt support audio - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
My unrooted samsung galaxy note II GTn7100 recently stop playing any media including music player, videos and youtube. It used to work smoothly. whenever i tried to play music player it says "player doesnt support any audio files". I didn't install unnecessary app to my phone nor did any recent changes to any settings since I want my phone for general use only (I know im not utilising my phone's full potential).
If anyone can help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks heaps!

Try factory reset.

All good. Just have to restart few times. And recently I have software update and now I am getting a new one again. What's with the new updates?

[Q] Music stops when app switching.

I've asked this question before but there were no replies.... I hope this time I'll get some pointers and re-phrase my question better.
I'm using the GSM Galaxy Nexus 4.1.1
Sometimes my music stops playing when switching apps or pressing the home button to return to the home screen, it doesn't happen all the time, but very troublesome when it does. It happens usually just right after unlocking the phone from sleep. I'm using the stock music player
I've noticed that this issued happened to Android phones as well, I tried to update the stock music app, and switched kernels. I don't know what else I can do. I don't recall encountering this problem back in 4.0.4.
Any help would be appreciated

Give us a bit more info:
1. What music app are you using? If it's an app that can both play local media files and stream, which are you doing?
2. Are you playing your music through headphones, the internal speaker, or Bluetooth?
3. If headphones, have you tried other headphones? If Bluetooth, how far away are the devices?
4. Which ROM and Kernel are you using?

I said I'm using the stock music player, Play Music.
I'm playing music through headphones.
I am sure that this problem is not because of the headphones
I'm using the stock 4.1.1 ROM JRO03C. This problem happend on both the stock kernel and Franco Milestone 5
Are you running any other memory hungry apps? Sounds like your music player is getting killed because the memory is needed for something else.
I've had this happen in two instances, so hopefully my personal experience will help you.
The first time, it ended up being a faulty cord in my Nokia Purity HD headphones, I bought a new cord and that fixed my issues.
The second time it was because I was attempting to play music, that I had downloaded in Spotify, but since I was in a crappy coverage area, it would pause the music every time I lost a data connection, even though the music was stored locally. Switching Spotify to offline mode fixed it, so you might try switching to offline only mode in Play Music.
Even if you don't think it's your headphones (for example, you tried them on a PC and they worked), you have to remember that phones have many more contacts inside the headphone jack, used for the media controls in headsets (headphones with buttons and mics), so if there is a short in your headphones that makes the phone think you're pressing the "Play/Pause" button, it wouldn't show in your PC, because most if not all PCs lack this functionality.

[Q] Disabling default Android Play Music

Im using XXDME1 Rom w/ XXDLK7 Modem
When I goto bed at night, I like to check "Active Applications" so my N2 deep sleeps properly, but after the last few updates of Play Music (I like to keep my apps uptodate) whenever I go into Active Applications play music seems to be running for some reason. I always use either Sammy Music Hub or Music Player anyway because IMO, Play Music interface is hideous and its slow.
So will disabling it in Settings > Applications, affect the N2 at all like music or media side.
Thanks
it should be safe to remove.
it wasn't even installed on mine.

Thanks, music player seems to be running fine without google music. In fact, theres a few apps that, over the last 6 weeks since having the N2, I could really get rid of.. 2 being ChatOn and learning Hub.. and that's just a start.
Do you have Indonesia DME1 installed, strange mine came with Play Music and I just updated it.
Sorted.. Thanks

[Q] Volume Problem (Kinda)

OK I've had my Nexus 7 for about a month now and have only started to use it for media. It really isn't an issue, but I would love it if someone found a solution.
Whenever I try and control the volume via BT headset, plug in headphone or the controls on the car. It pauses whatever is on the screen. The only two apps that I use is Google Play Music and MX Player. Outside of these two apps I have not tested it on anything else.
If someone can help me with this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Spotify equalizer, Soundalive

Hi all,
I'm new to a non-Nexus phone so forgive the noobness please. I am trying to find out if it's possible to ditch this Soundalive thing that came on my phone and get back the built-in equalizer in the Spotify app.
I tried turning off Soundalive in the application manager but after that trying to access the equalizer crashed Spotify.
Any help?
The only way to ditch it is through root, or i believe certain equalizer apps on the play store probably work system wide. I am not entirely sure though.
