Since a couple days i have a galaxy alarmsystem for my house. When there is a alarm it will send a textmessage to our mobile phone. Me and my husband both have the HTC one x and we don't receive the message.
I've put my sim in a samsung phone and then i did receive the textmessage. We talked to the HTC helpdesk and they didn't understood the problem and said that the problem was the alarmsystem
Other textmessages we do receive so is there someone who has the same problem or does someone has a solution?
I realy like this phone and want to enjoy it for a long time...
Did you try an hard reset?
I just gave my phone a hard reset but i still don't get the textmessages
It's really strange...
And i don't know why don't work..
R: [Q] textmessage on htc one x
Try to change text of message from alarm, probably it contains some special character... you need to try all cases it this strange situations I hope you have free sms from sim in alarm system
Sent from my HTC One X with Tapatalk 2
I have changed the format from the textmessage it still doesn't work. But when i have a unread textmessage in my phone it makes the sound of a textmessage and te message from the alarmsystem doesn't come on my phone but he will show the unread message which was still in my phone.
The problem is solved . The problem was the textmassagesoftware on my phone. I downloaded the app pansi sms and the problem is solved. HTC didn't had a answer...it wasn't there problem because other textmessages do came in. So thx to HTC for the good service
Thx for thinking with me xda

I was thinking. I'm running a Windows 2003 Standard Server R2 (with an active directory domain) here at my home with a FTP server on it. Is it an idea to mirror the whole or part of the XDA FTP domain? Which can then function as a sort of backup domain? The fact is that I have plenty of GB's to host it, lke 1,6TB. The only thing is that my internet connection is of course not as fast as the original XDA domain. My downstream is 8mbps and upstream 1,5mbps. But that could be enough for a backup function. Nice thing is that the server is running 24/7 with minimal downtime (at least that is what i'm trying to keep doing).
Let me know what you think of this idea. You can reach me at [email protected]

I try to set my S620 100 times, but don't work well.
Only few times recive any mms and send but arrive to other an empty mms.
:-(
Se parli solo di MMS, e' perche' devi farti mandare i settings dalla Tim o dalla Vodafone o dalla 3 o chi c'hai. Se cerchi qui trovi anche altre soluzioni tipo vedere i regional settings sull cell.
TIM mobile operator don't sell this HTC series.
I try to use the setting thata i see in www.tim.it, but the don't work's well.

I have TIM myself in Italy Sir and I can assure you that if you go to a TIM store they can set it up for you. I recall setting up the WAP and MMS features with a RAZR and a SLVR just by calling 119 once in Rome and I got two texts that installed the settings on their own. Its the same thing as in the USA with T-Mobile which you would have to go to.. http://tmobileuspublic.wdsglobal.com/phonefirst
Its the same thing in Italy.

I hope so because I like my phone in english
Yupe, I think I can change the language according to the manual

Changing the phone language
When you turn your phone on for the first time, you are prompted to select the language you
would like to use. You can also change the language on the fly whenever you like. Changing
the language adjusts the keyboard layout, date and time formatting, and more.
The languages available to choose from may depend on the version of phone you have.
Press HOME > MENU, and then tap Settings > Language & keyboard > Select locale.
Tap the language and corresponding region you want to use.
Press HOME to return to the Home

Indeed it's shipped from GSMWEB today
[DELETED for double posts, sorry]
Please if you already got one from Belgium / The Netherlands, take a look if you can change the language to English
Thanks!
You will be able to change the system to all supported languages.
Hmm, I am afraid that is not the case
I just called GSMWeb.NL and I asked specifically, and they said "This is a Dutch version, and you cannot change the language".
Aarghhhh .....

I am 99% sure that you will be able to change to most popular languages, at least western languages. As even with dumb phones you are capable of doing that, so android should and must do it too.
I hope you're right patasenko as I have a Desire coming from PDA Shop tomorrow and my Dutch is terrible!
I had not even given it a thought before ordering it. I figured that it must be easier for a manufacturer to produce one handset for a region rather than localize them all. I guess I'll find out tomorrow!
Yeah do that, and post your findings here i am getting my desire after my exams, tomorrow and thursday, because i know for a fact that i wont study for those if i had that baby beside me.

Believe me, you can choose all languages. Check out some set-up video's on youtube.
Hopefully I will receive my Desire tomorrow as well (also ordered from OPs store).
Will change to English asap, I always hate Dutch language in any OS. I assume it's possible, because that option was also available on my Hero (in the 'Locale & text' menu.. oh wait, thats not Dutch ).
Anyone got one already?
I just received an sms from PDAshop that they have packed my order
Mine should be delivered tomorrow btw.
I have mine although I will not be able to use it till friday...
Im in the netherlands atm but I got a text from home that it has arrived.
I orderd the silver one , but that's delayed .......
Go home quick! And see if the language can be changed

Hi,
the great "Search on server" function available on serach screen of client email seems disappeared after the last official ROM update.
This sucks!
Anybody found this issue?
PS Meanwhile I opened a support ticket on HTC site...
Thanks!
I've just noticed that, what a pain that is, I didn't use it m,uch but it was damn useful when I did.
It's true!
... a very odd decision because search on server was one of the most business oriented functions...
Please reactivate it!
Hello! (1st post)
I would like to revive this thread. Is there anything we can do make them bring that function back? I used it allot and is missing it dearly!
I don't know...
I opened a ticket for this issue at HTC support and the answer was: clean, reset and hard reset the phone. If the issue won't be resolved please re-contact us.
Obviously I did not follow the odd given solution.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
That's the standard answer to get rid of the troublesome customer. "That will ceep em' away for a while, and I hope he doesn't call back...".
I've seen a couple of Hero upgrade to 2.1 update-1 and the function isn't present there either.
What I really would like HTC to answer is if they are going to put it back in like 2.1 update-X, 2.2...?
I also have a ticket open with HTC on this subject. They are investigating for the moment they say.
Was in contact with the Swedish HTC-support today again. I sort of demanded an answer on this issue. Later in the day responded with the following.
Bo
(Nordics Support
Which translates to (Google Translate): "Thanks for your reply. The disappeared because we found it too buggy and therefore did not meet the requirements for stability as HTC calls. Whether it coming back, I can not answer but I can make to the development team that is a feature that our customers find very useful and want it back. You can not do more than what you have done."

It doesn't need anything else but hoping a coming back of that function.

Yeah. If you swipe up to unlock the screen it'll go into the app you just clicked the notification for. It's annoying, should unlock the screen and go right into the app, but apparently it doesn't work that way.
Geachte heer *******,

And I thought I was the only one this annoyed the hell out of.
Would love for this to work as it should.

As what I understand from the email I got from LG support is that he doesn't know if this is going to change.. I really hope it will, because it's annoying to tap and still swipe to open it..
