i,m afraid titanium daose.n save my profile ,i.v had this experience with nova3 ,saving apk+data but after it I was forced to start from scratch.

Go into /android/data/com.eagames.r3_row/ then back up doc folder.

thanks my friend ,is it sure? have you tested it?

I really think by the name of the files in the folder. After flashing oprn titanium backup and change the android id back if it has been changed.

I think I can confirm as there are some save games out there
Sent from my GT-N7100

Is there any way of backing up the download data.. its not there in /android/data/com.eagames.r3_row/ (just 5Mb of save-game data i guess)..,
cus i have no intention of downloading whole over again..... i need to do a wipe cache/factory reset via CWM... since it not there in the usual location i'm worried..

Yeah its possible go to my files then settings and enable show hidden files
now go to android / data from your device and copy the folder to your micro sd
wait it to finish it will take some time due to the size of the game
now connect your phone to pc and backup the game data to your pc from your sd
you can check the size its about 1.97 gb .
Hope it help

No . Open my files and enable show hidden files. Then rename .depot folder in the com.eaggames.... folder to anything like 123. Then copy it to pc. When you wanna restore just rename it back to .depot .. windows doesn't read .files.

Really frustrating games like this still do not have cloud saves in this day an age... especially when you pay actual money on in game currency.

Real racing 3 supports cloud saving. Just go into options (clog icon) then in the upper right corner theres an option to manage saved games in the cloud. Be sure to link your facebook account so you can download your save fine in the new rom.

OR TRY THIS
Hands up if you've ever had the following problem...
Your Android is almost completely full. The SD card is splitting at the seams as it tries to hold all your data. But, you can't uninstall any of your enormous games. Why? Because you'll lose your save files.
Well, put your hands down. A solution is here.
Thanks to a new app called Carbon, you can back up and restore Android app data. It's free, it's easy to use, and you don't need to root your 'droid device to use it.
You can grab the app from Google Play here, then follow our step-by-step guide to backing up and restoring save games on Android.

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
First things first, you need to download a couple of things. On your Android, grab the free Carbon - App Sync and Backup app from Google Play.
On your computer, get Carbon Desktop. It's free, and works on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Launch both apps, and then connect your Android device to your computer over USB.
You will be asked to enable USB debugging on your Android. It's supposed to be for development use only, but Carbon needs it to send the backup data to your PC.
Carbon should bounce you to the necessary options screen. If it doesn't, just go into 'settings', choose 'Developer options', and find 'USB debugging'.
If all has gone well, the Android app will now show a list of all the apps you have installed on your device. It's simply a case of picking the apps you want to back up by hitting the checkboxes.
If you choose 'App Data Only' (at the bottom of the screen), Carbon will only keep your save game, and not the app itself. This will make your backup file smaller, but it means you'll need to re-download your apps from Google Play.
When you've picked the appropriate games, hit 'Backup'.
Now, it's time to choose where you want to store your backup file.
Note that most of these options - like Schedule Backup, Dropbox, and Google Drive - only work on the premium version of Carbon.
But, you can back up to your computer for free. Just choose 'USB Storage' while your 'droid device is connected to your PC or Mac.
We're done. You can now delete the game from your Android smartphone or tablet safe in the knowledge that your save game has been backed up.
Okay. We deleted Bad Piggies and then downloaded the app from Google Play again.
Now all you need to do is plug your Android device into your computer, load up the Android app, and choose the 'Restore and Sync' tab. Pick 'USB Storage', or choose the cloud solution you used in step 4.
Tick the apps whose save games you want to recover, and hit 'Restore'. Your save file will transfer from your PC to your Android, and your in-game progress will be restored.

You dont need root or anything. There is a save file on the net with 9999999 credits. Just google real racing 3 save file. If i find it on my oc i will link it

Thankyou very much, I install a diferent rom thinking save data was uploaded to facebook, more than 10 hours of gameplay just by coping the doc folder from 0/android/data to /android/data/:cyclops:

backup doesnt work..
Hi,
Its a bit complicated here but as of new update i did copy whole doc folder to my Pc.
I attempted to install update but i could not because it was showing 100% and it wasnt doing anything in update screen. Then i connected to my pc and noticed all files from Doc folder are missing (deleted by updateer?)
So i uninstalled the game and installed over again. Fine game was working but every time i paste the backup folder doc to replace it on my phone, game would just delete it so i m back to lv1..
Please help,
using Galaxy S2

Easy way back up your Real Racing3 data is:
1. In game, seetings login with your Facebook account
2. Click in seetings on Cloud Save
3. Click on Upload To Cloud
That´s all!!!
When you are loging with your facebook acount on other android device in this game and click on Load From Cloud than your save data and your progresion is there

Move apps to SD - Unrooted Froyo Guide. Noobs Guide

First of all, all credit goes to williamj1 who created this post on another forum!
it might be useful for people on this forum as they are always saying that they are running out of space but are scared to root. Well give this a go and see how it goes.
Noob's Guide to this Process. (The phone doesn't need to be rooted)
*Updated: Widget Info / Guide / Fix *
*Updated 2: Added some more info for windows 7 users and for new SDK*
Note:
This requires Froyo 2.2
It doesn't void your warranty
It doesn't delete existing apps
It's perfectly safe
It doesn't require rooting.
Download the SDK from here- Android SDK | Android Developers
Extract using something like WinRar
Copy the second folder into the sdk named "android-sdk-windows" to the desktop.
Open the folder on the desktop and open the file, SDK Manager.exe (as no such file as setup.exe exists in the new version of the SDk)
Close the command / windows command prompt window that opens
Untick all options you are promted to download except ones like the manuals, and Essentially, ensure the USB driver option is selected / ticked.
Let these files download
Ensure on your phone, USB Debugging is on - Go to Settings/Applications/Development/USB Debugging and ensure its ticked / on.
Download and install HTC Sync from HTC's website for your device.
Connect your phone by USB and select the HTC sync option when it pops up with charge only, disk mode etc.
Allow the sync to complete.
Open windows command promt. Start / Run
Type in (without quotations) "cmd"
The following should appear. (with your user account instead of "your user name" - note its "users" in windows 7, not documents and settings
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
15. Type in the following after the ">" at each step (without quotations,and including spaces and capital letters)
"cd desktop\android-sdk-windows\tools" (might be "cd desktop\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools" in windows 7)
"adb devices"
"adb shell"
A $ sign should pop up
"pm setInstallLocation 2"
Another $ should pop up
(to revert back to default you would change setInstallLocation 2 to setInstallLocation 0) easy isnt it?
And your done. Close everything, disconnect phone, turn off phone and then turn it back on again.
16. Now the phone will be set to install all apps you install onto the SD card. However, current apps on phone will mostly still be stored on the internal memory. This process doesn't move these apps for you, it adds the ability. So you must now manually move those already installed on the phone.
To do this, go to settings / applications / manage applications
Then you just click on an app, and the move to SD card box should no longer be Grey. So you must now move all the apps you want onto the SD Card.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: I would not advise moving apps like widgets, or anything system related. Furthermore, for example, I have the 3g watchdog app constantly running, so it is advisable to keep apps like that on the internal memory.
See below for more information on widgets...
If you get an invalid path message, it suggests it cannot find the required folder you are asking it to. My method only works if you have saved it to the desktop. If you have saved it elsewhere it won't work. You would have to redirect the desktop part of the code ("cd desktop\android-sdk-windows\tools") to somewhere else.
For example if you saved it in my docs instead, it would be - "cd My Documents\android-sdk-windows\tools". That's why I used the desktop, it's far easier to code the cmd to find the file.
Finally, part of the problem is that when you extract the core sdk rar file, it is extracted to a folder wherever it was saved originally titled android-sdk-windows, but in that is another folder called android-sdk-windows, and then only once you open that second folder do you gain access to the tools, usb driver folders and so on. Therefore, you must either, remove the first folder so you are left with just a folder named android-sdk-windows which inside contains tools... or you must recode my above to say "cd Desktop\android-sdk-windows\android-sdk-windows\tools".
Likewise, beware as I can't remember for certain, but I think the sdk in its core form is called android-sdk_r07-windows or something (08/09 too), so rename this to android-sdk-windows.
One final note. Fairly irrelevant to this process but since this is being viewed a lot I'll say it anyway. Don't ever use a task killer. Wrecks the phone! Happened to me, happened to thousands. Ask below for more info.....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Widget Fix / Guide
Just to clarify about widgets for anyone unclear. There seems to be a bit of confusion here. This may have been said earlier I don't know, but again hopefully this is simpler. Ill add this to the first post too.
With this process, you can still use widgets, but not if they are on the SD Card (which they automatically will be assuming you got my original guide process to work.) Ive tested this, and it works every time for me. I know some widgets are weird but I think it will work. So to get a working widget....
Note: Some irritating widgets may require you to uninstall the app before you proceed to step 1.
Download and install the widget from the android market
Go to Settings/Applications/Manage applications/Downloaded (or All) and find/select your widget.
Select move to phone.
Turn off the phone
Turn on the phone
Voila. Widget should now work.
------------------------------------------------
Good luck. Any questions just ask. Ill check back regularly too. Hopefully, this guide is a little simpler for noobs
Is this just a more complex work around than doing it manually?

nope, by default if you have unrooted htc desire and if you install apps and games.. some of them can't be moved to SD Card because the "move option" is faded in manage applications.
This method will alow you unfade the button from games and apps. On mine all games are now moved onto SD Card when before only half were able to move
will this prevent me from rooting? i've tried to root my desire using unrevoked. when it reach the part of running root, unrevoked says error: fail to root. is your firmware too new?

[APP 2011-10-02][BETA] WP7AppBackup - Backup / Restore third party app data

This application will let you backup and restore data for third party applications installed on your phone. It’ll also help you install any application from the marketplace before its data is restored, as well as side-load apps from your local computer.
Key features:
• Backup/restore third party app data.
• Install missing apps from marketplace.
• Side-load apps from a directory on your computer.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Requirements:
• .NET Framework 4.0
• Zune
• Windows Phone SDK 7.1
• Unlocked device
• Permission to access data of applications installed through Marketplace. (Backup/Restore of side-loaded apps will work without this).
The last requirement requires elevated privileges, some custom ROMs such as YukiXDAs ROOTED NoDo ROM and YukiXDA/xboxmod s "Back to the future" ROM (when running pre-mango) got this.
Changelog:
1.0.0.1:
* User interface
* Fixed a few issues related to Mango
1.0.0.0:
* Initial release
This app uses some "unsupported" APIs, so use it at your own risk (Its also a beta, so there might be a few bugs!).
Thanks to:

I am using Win7 x86 with all the listed WP7 unlock tools etc loaded
This program is actually very useful!
So im just going to write down my experience with it which will hopefully help others, my Device is a HD2 running a Rooted Yuki ROM
First thing i did was to setup my Backup folder structure, this makes your life much easier!
i:\wp7\app (so this is where i placed the program above)
i:\wp7\backup (This is where i want the backup to go)
i:\wp7\xap (this is for any sideloaded apps i want installed automatically)
So the other day i wanted to do a backup
opened up command prompt, and navigated to my i:\wp7\app folder
I then typed in this
wp7appbackup -cmd BACKUP -location i:\wp7\backup
That copeied all the data from my installed apps in to my backup folder
I then reflashed my WP7 ROM which as you know deletes everything!
I made sure all my sideloaded apps where in the xap folder
then typed in the following in the command prompt
wp7appbackup -cmd restore -location i:\wp7\backup -sideload i:\wp7\xap -market TRUE
It tells me to unplug my phone
then asks me to run an app it just installed
Then one by one im given the chance to installed all the market place apps i used to have, no more searching!!
once done, i hit the home button, an plug the phone back in, it then goes about putting all the data back on the phone and thats it!
Phone was back to normal with all the apps and their data back where i want them!
Mighty impressed, I feel that a UI might be worth it as some folk on here might not know there way around the command prompt, but ive setup to batch files which make it a bit easier
ill post them on here but remember folks, you will need to change the loaction of you backup folder and XAP folders or they will not work.
oh apparently you cant post batch files, so ive compressed them in to a zip file, extract them to you app folder, edit them, then your ready
have fun people!
edit!
Its probably worth connecting to a WIFI network before you start, some apps need you to connect it to zune or wifi, if you reconnect mid way through restore it wont install the rest of your apps from the marketplace

Hi
Thanks for the bug report. I've been busy with other apps the past few days, so I haven't had the time to take a look at it yet. But its crashing while trying to remove temp files from your computer, so it shouldn't be to hard to solve .
I've been working some on an UI for the app, see the attachment for a sneak peek. Although I'll probably change the color of the background and maybe remove/change the WP7 logo. I don't want to confuse/upset anyone by making it look to much like an official app .
Thanks Ooije, I have just remembered...
Brunnel.nfs is a file I copied manually to my device (HD2 running Mango) I emailed the file to myself then used Touch Explorer to copy and paste to the Navigon folder.
I don't know if Brunnel.nfs has some weird set of file permissions because if was copied info the system via the back door.
Just seems odd the backup ran fine until if hit this file.
when i try to backup i am getting this following error

Looks like the folder you are trying to store the backup in (p:\wp7\backup) contains other files. Specify another path such as "p:\wp7\backup\2011-09-04" and it'll probably work .
I'm running Mango currently so I'll figure the elevated privileges part out on my own.
But will this allow me to move app data from from device to another or is is still restricted to the same device? I'm waiting for a backup solution like this.
Just to let you know I did the backup on my HD2 running Yuki Mango 7712 and I now have the Back to the future 7720 Mango and the restore worked fine.
looking at how this works I would say it does not matter which device you backup and restore to as it sends all the files directly into the isolated storage instead of a full device backup so should be fine.
I have to ask a few questions
I assume this backs up games and their save settings (save points in games), as this is the big one for me. I hate nuking a phone, redownloading/sideloading my games to have to start all over and go through 10-20 levels to get back to where I was.
1. Will this do this ?
2. Will this restore to a different phone ?
My screen is cracked, I am calling insurance on Tuesday/Wendsday. If this will backup all my apps/games/ etc and restore them to my new phone once I am on the same version of software (Currently on Mango 7720.68 and I will update my phone with the same).
Just want to know if this will help me move all my settings to a new phone.
3. When will the GUI version be out ? Looks cool so far...

Yes, most apps will work. In theory there could be a few apps which reads stuff like device ID, available RAM size and store that info in the app settings. In such cases something might not work as expected .
Do you have any apps installed from the marketplace? I haven't managed to get the elevated privileges ("root") working in Mango. So it would be great to know if anyone else succeeded .

1. As long as you have enough permissions on the phone (see my comment above).
2. See my and dr_strangetrick comments above.
3. "When its done" . I have other projects with higher priority .
Can't wait to get the GUI for this app, seems incredibly useful. It just took me over an hour to input all my TV shows for prime tv and when I flash a new (hopefully) updated ROM it'd be a huge timesaver to use your app. Thanks for all your hard work .
Hi Ooije, in preparation for my reload I uninstalled all apps that I did not need backing up and when I ran the backup it gave me 10 zip files but 4 were empty.
I did not have any market place apps installed at the time but the backup picked up on Angry Birds, Board Express, Endomondo, Brick Breaker and Bubble Birds and they all restored fine and my scores, levels, settings and history all worked fine.
I don't know what the other 4 items were, the backup got everything I wanted and as the restore worked I deleted the log files and backup files (sorry)
So perhaps some 'built in' apps appear as third party, maybe I dont know but this works fine.
There is another backup tool on this forum but it does not work on the HD2 (it should now I am on the new Mango) but yours does
I had a SMS backup&restore app on my galaxy S. I created a .XML backup file of my messages and have the file in my gmail. Can I use this app to restore the messages to my omnia 7?

The application creates empty zip files for apps without data. That way it knows which apps to install from the marketplace. It'll also create empty zip files for apps it doesn't have access to do a backup on (for the same reason).

accidentally deleted photo viewing app

ok, for FINAL FANTASY 3 android, I have been struggling for over two weeks to get this thing to work on my phone. My most common error was lack of space on my phone. I've gone through deleting apps trying to make enough room for it, but it wont install.
XPERIA PLAY has 300mb of internal memory (which is CRAP!). I have a 32gig micro SD card (mostly for games), but there's always the APK file (which is usually a couple megabytes) which installs the game, then the SD card content which goes onto the SD card.
I've been able to free up about 191mb on my phone, but it still wouldn't install. After two weeks of failed attempts to download an .APK file, I decided to buy it. Turns out, it looks like it's 172mb.
Anyway, I bought it...but I'm having difficulty installing it.

apparently it is 172 mb. I only had like 100MB free...so I just went through deleting ANY apps I could to get 191mb free...but it still wont install!
So, I'll keep working on this and hopefully I can get it working. I'm getting a refund and I'll keep trying with standard APK files.
After checking a couple things, I looked up APPS I could delete (note; I have a rooted phone), and so using ROOT EXPLORER, I googled some apps pre-installed on the phone which were safe to delete to free up more space. Somehow, I deleted som'n which allows me to view pictures. So, the image below (not mine..I just googled it)
I use that "music/image/video" widget thingy a lot for images..but it doesn't respond. If I use root explorer to get to my images...the error pops up that there are no suitable apps to view the image with. I tried to download a free app for image viewing..but they wont work.
I feel like an idiot...but does anyone have the .APK file I need for viewing images (preferably the one that comes with Xperia play). Or, does anyone have a link for all the default apk's that come with Xperia play (like a back up copy). Stupid me, I didn't back up my APK's and I don't know what I deleted which is dis-allowing the photo's from viewing.
Thanks in advance.

I backed it up for you
Here ya go http://www.4shared.com/zip/WlYkbLL4/Archive.html?
Unzip the folder
Install the app using a file manager
Drag "com.sonyericsson.xxxxxx" to Android/Data
I don't know what to do with the properties file, find it out yourself
BTW, who's the hot chick in your picture?
if you had read the whole thread he said its not his phone he googled the picture
Sunjay140
The picture is a google image I randomly looked up that had the screen shot I was looking for
Thanks for the file . I tried to install the APK file and got an error
so when I try to install it...it immediately says "there is a problem parsing the package".

"he" is a she. If you look closely, you'll find my name is Nina (thought the "girl gamer" gave that away)
what firmware are you using, that problem happens when the app is for newer firmwares and the user is using an old firmware ,have you tried forcing the app in system then apps then reboot ?
Edit. sorry I didnt look at your name nina and didnt notice the girl gamer

I'm still using GINGERBREAD 2.3.2.
I've tried multiple times to use PC companion
to update the phone (at first, to IceCream Sandwich, but I heard that SONY isn't releasing a firmware update for Xperia play. Then when I heard JellyBean was released, I tried to upgrade again. The problem is, Sony PC Companion wont connect to the phone.
Xperia play has two form of connecting to a computer. 1 is "media storage mode" and 2 is "media transfer mode". Storage is for accessing the MICRO SD card and transfer mode is for the PC companion upgrade etc.
I'd like another way to upgrade it, but I dunno how.
have you got the correct drivers installed otherwise it will not detect your xperia play ?
Shaun27
I have uninstalled and re-install the program multiple times. In fact, this last year since I've had an xperia play, I've never been able to get the phone to connect to the program. Tried different USB ports + different USB cables. Even brought my phone to a friends' place who has an xperia play who updated his phone, and my phone wouldn't connect.
The drivers are NOT the program (pc companion)
You need to install it to make the computer able to communicate with the phone

I think she is saying her freind has the correct drivers but it still didnt work.Have you used flashtool before if so you can flash the newer firmware you require but if you really only need the gallery app then I wouldnt mess about with updating because 2.3.3 is probably the most stable for playing games . you can install the gallery app just post a thread on here asking for the stock gallery app from the 2.3.3 firmware
edit ,your on 2.3.2 the same as me at the moment I have just tried installing the apk sunjay posted and I get the same error so you defiantly need the 2.3.2 gallery apk then it will install .
two quick and small updates;
I was able to find a gallery app which basically does the same thing. It's not exactly what I was hoping for...but i'll get by with it now.
secondly, someone recommended me an app called link2sd (which admittedly I didn't expect to work).
Installed link2sd. There's a feature in there where you can control install location (internal or external)
I selected external, and launched final fantasy 3 ask to install it, and it installed in seconds. It's now downloading the 170mb...
this looks promising!
I was going to say just install one from the play store ,i think there is one called 3d gallery thats very similar
NEW ISSUE (note; thanks you guys for your feedback on the previous one)
I installed Xperia CWM Auto-installer (mostly because I have never experienced booting up my phone in recover mode...so I thought this would do it...it didn't!)
I selected the "install cwm" button which installed with a checkmark. I then clicked on the "reboot into recovery" button.
Now, every time I turn my phone off, and plug it in to charge the battery, it turns itself back on.
If I turn my phone off without being plugged in, it stays off. But when it's plugged in, it'll turn itself back on.
I've even turned it off and waited a couple minutes, then plugged it in (to charge it) and within seconds the "sony xperia" logo appears and it turns on.
i've uninstalled and re-installed and uninstalled this app a couple times and tried to make it stop, but it keeps re-booting every time I plug it in to charge. In my experience, I make sure I don't have it plugged in all night/over night to preserve the battery. I try and charge it every other night and I prefer to have the phone turned off for the recharge. I don't want the phone ON all the time. And I don't want the phone turned on overnight (plugged in charging).
Any feedback please?
From just looking at that picture you've got the wrong phone model selected it should be r800

that's a google image picture. I have the R800a
Issue resolved; I installed this and it seemed to fix everything

[Q] What is ".SIc-yJMAhEcjs6wmSi9Uhdeyr_M=" Folder?

Fellows, what the heck is this folder named .SIc-yJMAhEcjs6wmSi9Uhdeyr_M= that stays in the SD Card and comes back even if deleted?
I thought this folder is exclusive to an app I installed on my Play but just recently after I bought a 2nd hand Xperia Go for everyday use that I noticed it also has this folder both in internal and external SD. Also, when I connect my USB Flash Drive via OTG, this same folder is created in it, too.
Any ideas? And is this dangerous?
Anyone?

Have you tried formatting or flashing a new FTF?
Well try removing your sdcard and see if your ROM is fine

yes potentially dangerous, that file sounds bad, looks to me like a corrupted sector on your SD card, these files usually can came from excessive bad mounts/ dismounts on windows side aka a faulty usb? and let me guess the file size says something ridiculous like 24GB? if not your only in phase 1.
if not it could be a app creating that folder for whatever reason but you better take action, if left unchecked if i think it is what i think it is then your SD card could fully corrupt.
i had this before, take out sd card from phone(Use a sd adapter) backup everything on sd EXCEPT THAT FILE/ FOLDER then run a disk check on sd, finally format sd the place files back
remember it could be nothing. if all else fails its probably just a app inside android making that file, to find out for sure as a last resort reinstall rom/ factory reset and 1 by 1 install your apps back and see which app makes it

Are you using mobisystems OfficeSuite 7?
Try un-installing it and see what happens.
Thanks guys for all the replies! I'm supposed to post a reply last Tuesday but I was very busy.
Before I posted this query I already did Google search for this and all that came back were forum posts in foreign languages so I didn't bother looking through.
This Tuesday I tried Googling it again and 1 or 2 new search results returned were all pointing to OfficeSuite.
With that, I think it's safe to assume the folder is not harmful. Besides, its content is only a 80.00-byte worth of .nomedia file.
EDIT:
 @Oldtlar Yes I think it's related to OfficeSuite. :good:
EDIT 2:
http://www.plurk.com/p/jmkhp1
I contacted Mobile Systems, (OfficeSuite 7) and they stated it was not related to their program and directed me to this thread.
After un-installing OfficeSuite 7 & installing OfficeSuite 6.5, I can confirm the folder/directory and related is created by OfficeSuite 7.
I have since emailed them, but have had no reply.
It would be nice to know why the folder is created if nothing else, but a folder name that is less threatening looking or applicable to the program would cause less concern.
It probably was a cache folder for the program
At least it wasn't anything worse.

.nomedia is the name (and file extension) used for a folder or file that is not to be scanned by mediascanner (the service that runs every time android boots up to check media content such as videos e.t.c. stored on the internal storage).
Apps sometimes make use of this folder/file extension for temporary files or files that you don't need to see. (For example some emulators extract and store their button images for touchscreen usage all separately as .PNG, they are often in .nomedia folders).
Also the file(s) as mentioned are the size of 80kb.
So yes this to me defiantly sounds like some sort of app cache generated every time the app starts, probably OfficeSuite has some sort of broadcast receiver to make it start up shortly after boot as many apps do in Android. (Tons of apps if not all use these if you have a start on boot setting present - e.g. ROM Toolbox has 9-11 if I recall right for every different aspect of the tool).
Personally I won't worry about the folder being present.
Below is an example from my phone showing apps using broadcast receivers.

There is no doubt for me that the folder & related file are created by OfficeSuite 7. I have since gone back to OfficeSuite 6.5 on my three Android devices and it is NOT created.
It may be harmless as suggested, but if your program is going to create STRANGLY NAMED folders etc...... Why not name it something, like WE ARE A VIRUS - GOTCHA!
Great Program though! I just won't be recommending it to others or upgrading until a fix/explanation is made.

The problem is that it is strangely named and contains... nothing. Just a .nomedia file.
Thereafter, I don't get why they deny OfficeSuite 7 created it. I don't mind it being there, but it's weird. That weird that it made me Google at, Google brought me in this thread.
hi all - Same problem
Hi all,
I've the same Problem :
I'm using OfficeSuite 7 too (coincidence ?)
I've this folder on my SDCARD (internal) ans SDCARD1 (external)
This folder Stress me (i delet it all days)
Can anyone help me for removing totaly this folder ?
thx
U need to find app which is creating it. Its not officesuite as i have it and dont have the folder.
However i reflashed everything week ago and before i had this (or very similar) folder
Apps i didnt.install after update:
Tour the france
Discovery news
Drippler
Wolfram alpha
And some from polish bank bank mbank and polish part of orange
Maybe u have one of them
Sent using C6833 - Carbon KitKat/Pimped Z1 Kernel
I also have this problem. Even if I delete the folder, then find myself always on the external sd is that the internal memory.
It 'annoying ............
I also have this folder popping up every now and then with a .nomedia file. But I use OfficeSuite Pro 8 + PDF. It's true that it's weird that that denied it that it's their app makes that folder. Suspicious indeed.
Sorry if bumping an old thread isn't allowed but wanted to say that even in ver 8 problem is still there.

Uninstalled System Apps reappear all the time

So i wanted to uninstall some bloatware and telemetry apps with mixplorer. But shortly after i delete them, they just reappear in the folders.
Never had this on oxygenos 9. What happened here on oxygenos 10? Is there some service that just restores deleted system apps or something?

You can't mount /system as rw in Android 10 while booted. Any changes that you do (or try to do) will get reverted after a reboot. It is possible to do that via TWRP though.

Whatever changes you're making in the /system partition, make them through TWRP's built-in file manager (instead of attempting to make them via a root file manager while booted into android -- which won't work anymore):

You have to delete the folder containing the app via TWRP's file manager, for example, /system/app/<AppName> or /system/priv-app/<AppName>.
@shadowstep I just did this for the YouTube app and the app still exists and functions normally. Any idea what I did wrong? Also, does the TWRP file manager actually lack a search function to make sure all YouTube files are indeed gone?

You probably removed it from the system partition, but have an update from Play Store installed (which will be a normal app, uninstallable normally like any other installed app after booting). Also, TWRP is only a recovery environment, not a full fledged, feature rich UI. It's meant to be minimalistic and small in size.
@shadowstep I know I deleted the entire folder in data/app but, doing a search in my file explorer (Solid Explorer), I still see some leftover stuff from YouTube in my root folder (specifically, in system/product/app, config/sdcardfs, and a ton of other folders actually). Are you aware of any recovery file browser I can flash and use that has a search function? I ask this because I have a feeling I'm going to run into this crap again with other apps, and would prefer to not have to write down all these folders and manually delete them all individually as that'll take forever.
Also, since you've been enormously helpful, I'd love to get your input on another Android question that's been burning in my mind lately and I cannot for the life of me find any solution online or in the many forums I've been to:
I'm trying to download some files from one of my apps to my android phone hooked up to an external hard drive. However, the app will not let me download to the hard drive, and instead auto installs to the Downloads folder in my internal storage. When an app doesn't let you choose a download location, is there anyway around this where I can force the app to download files where I want it to?
I'm sorry to burden you with all my junk but you've truly been the only helpful person I've been able to find to answer these questions I've been having.

If you're on OOS 10, the system instance of YouTube is actually in the product folder (/system/product/app/YouTube). That's the folder you have to delete via TWRP's file manager to remove YouTube from the system partition.
If you still see YouTube installed after removing that, then it's most likely a user instance of the app (system instance = pre-installed by the manufacturer; can only be removed via root, user instance = normal installation by the user/Play Store; can be removed via normal uninstall while booted).
You don't have to remove any other file(s). The APK is the main thing.
Regarding your second question, I'm afraid that's something I don't know. I've never had to do that so never dug into it. Google is your best friend at this moment. Good luck!
@shadowstep I've now deleted both folders in TWRP and the app is still here . I also can't delete it normally like a non-system app. I'm about to lose my mind .

Hmm. In that case, try the Magisk method using Terminal Debloater: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-terminal-debloater-debloat-t3584163

THANK YOU SO MUCH! That module did the trick! For some reason, there are still some apps that are being pesky and not getting detected/deleted, but that module helped get rid of almost all of these annoying apps. Thanks again!
