How you want do it? This phones has other chipsets, drivers etc. It's like porting BIOS from ASRock B75 to Asus P8B75V.

STUPID. STUPID. STUPID. STUPID. STUPID. Y U SO STUPID.
If anyone tries this and bricks his/her device, blame this guy.
Seriously dude, you can't just 'flash' a kernel designed for a COMPLETELY different SoC!
NEVER EVER DO THIS.
You can't even 'port' this kernel (compiled from source) to the Xperia S without a huge darn load of work.
Even msm8960 (blue/mint) would be closer.
Sorry if I am sounding a bit harsh, but I cannot let him pass through with this kind of 'advice'.
Please, if you want to contribute, get your facts straight in the first place!

[Q] 2.3 Source Code

Here's to hoping that I dont get ripped on for posting LOL
I read about things that can and cant be done to the 2.3 ROMS because of there not being a source code. I dont know anything about that and I dont pretend to so I'm just wondering if what I'm reading here is what's needed to develop these further, such as kernels, etc??? http://source.android.com/
It says the 2.3 Source code is released but I have no clue what so ever if it's what's used or not.
Think of what's released by Google as an OS with no included drivers, but incompatible with all older drivers.
We need the source code for Samsung's build.

There's a diference between asking a question with an actual purpose, with an intent to learn, and with sources of your own finding...
And spamming the dev section with warrantless crap questions because you are too lazy to read through a simple instruction set..
He didn't get blasted, because his is the former... I wish you people would stop with this "we all need to get along together, don't feed teh trollz" non-sense and actually pay attention to the merit of posts here.

Secret Codes

Hi!
I just wanted to know why the secret codes aren't enabled. When making ROMS, I've never seen anything to stop them. Us it just in the old Android? It's on the Samsung Galaxy. Sorry for the stupidity.

What are you going on about?
The secret codes, like:
*#*#(number)#*#*
Some work and some don't. Depends on the make of phone, as they seem to have their own ones.

It's not. *#*#4636#*#* gives phone testing and info
In the ROMS below 2.3.5 there is only one. I have two at the moment.
I'm not Getting that "3424" code working on my cm7.2rc1 but both the codes worked well in my unrooted HTC phone earlier. Cab you tell me y is this so?

Instead of directing to the XDA thread, you're directing to a blog link, that too posting this on XDA. I guess that's against the rules.

stupidity from people like you are the reason why xda is spending a lot from keeping the servers clean of useless things,
you should learn to search or at least do some research
the Galaxy Y won't get
an official Ice Cream Sandwich update.
You can get ia feel by installing custom
ROMs that are based on gingerbread eventually .these roms are beatiful and worth a try.But since u r new u can opt for various roms like repencis 3.5 and ussr. Both are good respectively.it requires rooting .(which ultimately voids warranty.)u can find it in general thread.Take ur own time
press the thanks button. That's the best way to appreciate me
