[REQ] CM Based ROM Messaging App - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I want to be able to type & reply (literally) in the notification bar. I think that is an awesome feature! Anyone have this as an APK or flashable zip?!

Anyone!?

I think this is built into the framework for cm isn't it?

Well I am running Liquid Smooth RC2 which is based off of CM, yet I don't have this feature
And I tried to extract the MMS.apk from the ROM but it didn't work!
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app

This won't work... Its very deep in the framework and won't be as simple as adding an apk. However, bet there's a 3rd party app with this feature.

Musicplayer apk. CM9

Is there a way to get the Music player app from touchwiz onto CM9? Also, does MMS work over wifi in CM9 or not because it is an AOSP ROM?
Edit:
If anyone wants to try and make the Apk. itself then here are the instructions:
http://epiccm.blogspot.com/2012/01/porting-touchwiz-apps-for-cm7.html
Also, if you too want this app for CM7/CM9 there is a thread where you can make suggestions to do so here:

There is a thread in Apps subforum with current ported TW apps. The author is taking requests and also provided a procedure to attempt porting yourself.
MMS over wifi has nothing to do with it being an AOSP ROM, it is just not completely working right yet. It will try to send but only a 20% chance it will work. Use GoSMS as a workaround if yours fails.
Boo!

I saw you post in the tw app ports thread and noticed the equalizer is what made you go back to tw. DSP manager works great as the equalizer built into cyanogenmod.

I had seen before on MIUI that MMS would not work over wi-fi due to the fact that it was an AOSP ROM. But thanks for the GoSMS tip

Thanks man! Still miss the look and smoothness of it so I may just manually find a way but for now the DSP manager Sounds pretty darn good CM9 FTW!!!
There's an even better music player for CM9, it's bomb. But not included in CM9, instead we have an ugly stock one, just like cm7. I think we'll get the new music player once CM9 reaches a RC0 state.

CM7 Features on stock

Hi!
Does someone know how to add CM7 features like the lockscreen styles on STOCK rom?
Thanks!
I think you can't do this. But you have some apps that let you personalize your lockscreen.
It's possible! I saw that on Emanon v5 ROM for galaxy mini..

More lockscreen types, performance options etc like CynaogenMod Settings.

Try BNC rom, its cm7+ stock

UOT kitchen or CM7 kitchen?
Uot
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
I've tried but I can't get the CM7 Ring lockstyle
UOT just themes the different lockscreens... they must be present in the ROM in the first place.
Ontopic, to have cyanogen features on stock rom, I think there are some stuff that must be built from source (like settings, framework), taking care not to break existing framework and apps from stock rom, meaning you should compile just bits and pieces and somehow merge it in the stock files.
Another way would be carefull porting by studying resource and smali for all files affected by a certain mod.
Thanks for the explanation
BNC-rom was a stock rom with cm7 features, but it's over at giocommunity now....

Have you took care to port only lockscreen related code and files (not all differences between stock and cyanogen framework and apk's are extra features)? Not doing so may cause bugs, because there are some differences between how samsung built the frameworks and the aosp ones...
Anyway, nice job! As you may know, I was working also on porting the lockscreens for my rom, but gave up due to lack of time...

[REQ] Working Stock Widget & App For CM10

I'm now using sematek's CM10 Unofficial build. The ROM is ultra fast, super stable and eye candy at the same time. However, I miss the stock samsung apps, for specific, the Accuweather and Music player. I've read somewhere that they need TW framework to operate. I have a working TW 5 for CM 10 but not sure if the framework is there already or not. I've tried lots of port for GS2 and have zero success so far.
Sure there would be alternative but I want to stay with sammy stock app for a while cause the money we paid partly went to samsung's dev anyway, right?
To sum up, I need a working package of AccuWeather and Stock music player that actually work on CM10. Maybe a port? Or an extract from Sam's offcial JB? Any?
Haven't seen any so far, probably not possible. But love to have one though

I've been wondering the same thing but I'm CM9 nightly and I don't like the launcher. Where did you get TW5 from? I tried the one with modified grid and as soon as I click install. It says "Application not installed" Is it a framework issue?

Emoji

Anyone know why or just wonder why Android still can't universally see emoji even in ICS or JB without changing font files? I'm aware that stock ICS and JB have emoji built into their srock messaging app now but why can't all ics see emoji in other apps not just text messaging?

Any rom based off of cm 10 has the support for them although not in color yet. Eventually it'll probably be added in

I have an HTC Evo rom with a messaging app that has iOS style, color emoji baked in. The rom was ported from the Galaxy anyway so I don't understand why I can't get it to work. I've only had this phone for 2 days but I feel like the Evo was so much easier.

Are you trying to flash the rom or extract the messaging apk and load it that way? It probably won't work because it's designed for the OG EVO. Sense and TouchWiz are different.

Edit: The app does work, and so does the emoji. But because the apk is different than the one that came with the rom it doesn't show up in the launcher, just the app tray. But I guess this will be my project for my first SGS3 rom.

It's messaging.apk but it was from an AOSP rom. I installed the AOKP Jellybean rom and it has native emoji in the messaging app.

[REQ] Samsung based CM10/CM10.1 ROM

Hi guys,
I saw the MIUI team have ported there ROM and kept all the Touchwiz features such as the SPEN while still adding all the MIUI customisation options by using a Touchwiz Base. I was wondering if this would be possible with CM10? Or AOKP? Well, something AOSP based. I know there are look a likes but to be honest none really are all that great in my opinion. CM10/.1 has SOOOO many awesome features. The themes chooser sor instants.
I think this would be insane. Im not a developer, but i'd be willing to do everything I can to make this possible! - If it is possible ...
So anyone up for it?
Cheers
that MIUI was based on TW ... no S features will be ever available on AOSP
I don't think it's as straightforward as the Samsung framework enables those features like split-window and Samsung-specific apps. Having said that, there are third-party options to enable some of the functionality. Note that even in default CM10.1, S-Pen itself works fine, air hover, button, and so on.

MIUI was originally based on Cyanogen mod wasn't it?

Because the whole point of CM is being AOSP+ more features.

Cm10.1 is 4.2.1 based
Miui is 4.1.2 that too tw based.
First of all s pen functions require libraries which aren't cross compatible.
So the libraries can't be used with 4.2.1
There is no cm10 for note 2.
Only Cm10.1

There is CM10 for Note 2. Although discontinued. Probably should get your facts straight eh?
Right, so why isn't it possible to make a Cm10, touchwiz 4.1.2 based rom if its been done with MIUI?

And?
Miui is touchwiz based.
If you remove touchwiz framework you get cm. Not to mention you will add Google framework.
But without touchwiz framework snote libs won't work.
So no s note.
Cm 10 is nothing but Google framework based rom to be accurate. It doesn't means cm team didn't so much. I am saying in context to this thread.
Either Google framework or Samsung framework.
That is either no s note or s note.
Miui is samsung based.
Other than thar Samsung based rom might be themed enough to look like cm10 but it isn't aosp.
It would require super expert level modding or samsung or google level devs to do that.
Samsung devs know best how they work.
So they are probably the one who can do that.

You're just really not helping are you?
I am just telling you that is not possible...
You can check N7100 forums as well...
No such roms...
2 years I guess and not a single rom of this type....
I think that explains it.
I am not sure but maybe 4.1.2 based aosp with s note might be possible.
