Asbestos underwear... That made me laugh.
Seriously though, the devs are working hard. Remember the saying "Good things come to those who wait". I don't have any personal knowledge of what any of the devs are working on, but they will bring good things to the OG. The devs always do.
I'm curious? If you're " putting on asbestos underwear" why did you post this?

Why not just set the brightness to auto-adjust? It works wonders. I never feel the need to go in and change it after setting the base brightnewss.
Settings --> Display --> Brightness --> Automatic Brightness --> Set base brightness level
Now that we have source and should get AOSP anyday, we will be able to make any AOSP based ROM, CM/PA/AOKP/PAC
I imagine that if someone else doesn't, there is a good chance that Th3Bill will put out a PA version. If you go take a look at the Photon 4g forums, you can see that he put out a metric ton of AOSP roms for that device.

Well, it all comes down to the willingness of a developer if he/she wants to port it or not. If you question the availability of porting webos, then you try porting it then.
Another option would be good, but at this point, why? With ics stable and jb stable around the corner, it really doesnt make sense for a dev to port it. Webos lacks alot compared to android.

The developers always love challenges. They might port it if it is interesting enough. I think the matter is whether we have the good enough developers, who use S2.

I been looking online for a webos launcher or a good theme thats not for cm9. But no luck, also there is a webos theme for gb miui not miuiv4 for some reasons gb miui themes are not compatible with miui v4. sure wish there could be a easy way of converting gb themes work on ics miui rom. Seems like Gb was more popular on themes than ics
I've been doing some looking... it honestly doesn't look so difficult.

Here is the Korean firmware. We can probably kang something useful. Don't attempt to flash. It isn't made for Sprint phones and you will turn your phone into a paper weight or an iPhone.
http://blog.seabow.pe.kr/?p=3149
If you flash the F180L version you can boot and use the phone. Your radios won't work though. You will still have WiFi. Any devs who feel generous might be able to port this.

A stock JB would be nice. I was used to having the 4.2
I downgraded when I bought the Optimus. I do like this one over the Galaxy Nexus though.
If there was one single thing that I truely hate about this phone, it's the dialer. Maybe HTC spoiled me with the sense dialer, perhaps I spent too much time using MIUI, all I know is that our stock dialer has the least intuitive interface since CIUI for the EVO 4G.
Can anyone recommend a good alternative?

a working MIUI would be nice, but AOSP has to work properly first.
Quick question, why WOULDN'T AOSP work properly for us? I mean, being a member of XDA for quite sometime now and also familiarizing myself with various Android devices, I've come to notice that some OEM devices can run pure/true AOSP ROMs, but some others on different carriers cannot? I had an Samsung Epic 4G a few months ago before getting this phone, and asked the same question over there, but all I got was a vague answer at best. But other phones that's based on the same hardware but on different carriers can run true AOSP ROMs, like the Samsung Captivate on the AT&T network, versus the Epic 4G on Sprint. Anyone know why this is?
