Searched to no avail. Anyone know if one exists? Can anyone invert it since it is a free app? Love inverted apps. Thanks in advance

It's kind of simple to do on your own lol.. Just open the app in a zip viewer and kinda draw able hdpi and extract only the images you want to change and then invert their colors and then put them back in

You'd be surprised lol. Open in a zip viewer, find draw able hdpi, make a folder on desktop and copy the images to it, make sure you don't change their names at all, edit to your desire, drop back where you found them inside the zip, (don't extract the zip, just take out what you need and put back), file, save, then put the apk back on your phone.
Experiment with it. That's how I learned the basics of theming. I made a theme back on the evo although I needed help.
Thanks. I won't have time till Wednesday maybe. These 70 hour weeks are a pain

This is my first time ever putting together a theme. I used UOT kitchen just to put something together. Its just black and blue with honeycomb icons.
I think it still needs some work, I'm not sure how to edit the colors of widgets or apps yet.
I am probably going to make some changes as I get better. If anyone has any advice then feel free to PM me.
Features : Custom Battery Icon
Honeycomb Icons
Black notification bar (transparent background)
Dark Blue overscrolls
Other slight Color changes
Kinda ugly I think... But Im sharing it anyway!
You should be able to flash via CWM.
BACK UP YOUR ROM BEFORE FLASHING JUST IN CASE.
NEW: Just edited some of the colors a bit And changed the battery icon.
Screenshots
(Not updated for new version) I will take new screenshots later. I am tired. The new colors are much better I think.
Changes
Please tell me what you like / dont like.
Looks great besides the battery icon, should be blue like the rest. Great work though and thanks!

Its honeycomb colored. But It changes color when your battery is at different levels.
At full charge it matches the rest of the honeycomb icons.
Im working on some tweaks already. I dont like the color of the pop up screens.
I understand, thanks a million, looks great so far. I'm excited to see where you take it.
Maybe I should research this kitchen stuff and take a shot at themes too!

You can do this by using a program like WinZip or 7Zip to open the APK files (they're effectively just .zip archives with a different extension) and changing the files. Its pretty easy save for the part where you have to make new images. Most images used in Android are .9.png files which need to be nine patched. There are tons of threads all over XDA about how to do this. Check it out, mate.
BTW nice work.

I believe that there is a option to do it in gimp its just one click and it converts it automatically. I have not used it in a year or so but I remember that option being there
Edit: I think this is how you do it: in gimp right click image select mode select rgb. Then just save. I usually click save as so you keep the original

Thanks for the try. But I know how to do the 1-1 but that takes forever there like 1000+ images just in one apk. I'm trying to learn how to theme
I found my answer tho I literally searched on google for like 1.5 hours. All I had to do was search here on XDA forums

O wow that cool. One reason I stopped theming was it was really tedious. I know about .9 converter but I did not know about this.

Use some kind of apk manager or 7zip to edit the file. Go to mipmap-hdpi and replace/change the icon in their. There can sometimes be multiple icons in that folder. Also, some apps have the icon in drwable-hdpi called icon.PNG or ic_launcher_(name of app)

I've been trying to figure this out myself. I want a based 4.0.4 stock rom with the skyrocket icons. and The 4G icon as well. But when I changed the framework-apk it doesnt work. I dont know if im doing it right or not but would be nice if some one could make a flashable zip with these icons for all of the stock 4.0.4 based roms

asked somebody, who's been a big help to me. told me that if you want to change the phone icon, it not in phone.apk thanks for that! Its actually in the contacts.apk image that...
Without having to download THIS messaging app? The messaging app in my ROM has direct call and a couple of other goodies that I really like... just the colors are very boring and plain! Any help is very much appreciated, thanks.
The standard way of theming is open the mms. Apk in a zip viewer. Either win rar or 7 zip, then find the area that holds folders named draw able hdpi. Extract ONLY THE ICONS AND IMAGES You want to change. Font extract the whole apk. Then, open the images in photo shop or any editing program, change the colors as you please, save, (DONT CHANGE IMAGE NAME OR TYPE), then drop them back into the apk in the folder you found them and save changes to the zip. Once that's does, go into system/app, rename the end of the name .Bak. So apkname.Apk.bak
Then just copy and paste it into system app and then give it correct permissions if it doesn't already and then reboot

Try using gosms or handcent. I believe they have theming capabilities.
All Battery results are on a 6300mah battery, unless otherwise noted!

I used Handcent since my EVO 3D days but I really like the 4.2.2 Messaging app.... I just hate that I can't theme it. No need for a 3rd party messaging app... I can live with the plain colors, I'd just rather be able to theme it if possible!!
Then if Reapers response is too complicated the answer to your question is then No. There's no other way to do it.

Why wouldn't you just download that app? It makes it a lot easier on you to theme the stuff the way you want. :what:

I'm honestly thinking about just doing that hahaa.
I figured out how to change the icons to what ever you want with the stock launcher.
And how to get more icons to choose from..
1.download "Icon finder plus.." from the PLAYSTORE it's for downloading icons their is a ton to choose from..
2.download all the icons you want. With icon finder,.
3.use a file browser IE root explorer, to copy the folder that the icons you downloaded are in its labeled" icon finder plus" copy that folder to your camera folder DCIM.
4. When you touch and hold a icon then let go the edit icon brush will appear on the icon touch it .That brings you to the icon selector folder.. here you can select one of the system standard icons. Or
" create photo icon" and select your downloaded icon folder and choose your desired icon crop then ok.

Hmm,
I tried this (following the steps listed in post #1).... After I get to the point where I can "create a photo icon" (step #4), I choose the icon I want from my gallery and nothing happens when I touch it, so I touch it again and it goes back to the previous screen (stock icons) and nothing has changed??
I've tried changing the following icons FB, Chrome, YouTube, music player, and message icons (stock and ChompSMS).
Am I doing something wrong or has anybody else ran into this?
I'm rooted if that makes a difference?

If you're rooted and really looking to change it, you can add your own manually by copying LGHome3a.apk from your system/app folder to your PC, and replacing the icons yourself. You'll find them in the drawable-hdmi and the drawable-xxhdpi folders by browsing the apk with an archive program. They are named variants of lg_dockmenu_ic_allapps.png.
I was able to replace them without without a problem. I opened pngs in photoshop and pasted over my own icons, saved them, replaced them in the archive, and replaced the original LGHome3a.apk with the modified version.
If you are not rooted then :silly: you probs cannot. But the stock LG launcher is just too nice to change.

No luck on getting the icon packs to work but check this link out. This dev makes LG stock launcher themes. They all work with the stock launcher and are pretty great.
